  1. Definitely heading to the tower first and foremost. And maybe then making a quick stop at Cinnabon simply 'cause it's been entirely too long I never get much riding done on opening day, I just mostly walk around and enjoy the park.
  2. I'm debating buying an ACE membership just to ensure that I get to go to CoasterMania! this year. Plus $60 per year isn't really that expensive.
  3. Sorry for the double post but the Tom Hanks fan inside of me couldn't let this go unchallenged Edit: By the time I got around to posting this it was no longer a double post... go figure o.O Bubba was a good friend of Forrest Gump's that he met during his service in the Army and whom he lost in a battle durring Vietnam. It was not his nickname
  4. I'm kinda sad that there won't be another Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend, but at the same time I'm really excited to see what other events are in store for us here at KIC.
  5. All right, fair enough. That should make him pretty happy Thanks a lot!
  6. I was wondering about this... One of the friends I referred is currently 15 so he can't work in rides as of now, but he will turn 16 in April. So you're saying he can apply now and still be considered for the job because he will be 16 by the time the park opens? I ask because he was really interested in working rides and seemed pretty sad that he was only a few days short of being able to apply.
  7. I've just applied for a position in the rides department and referred two friends to the site so that they can apply Keeping my fingers crossed.
  8. I'll definitely be there. I spend 90% of my Summer at KI anyway, I may as well get paid for it
  9. Agreed. Every time I go to ride Slingshot the line for it is easily a 45 minute wait, if not worse. Being able to skip to the front would be excellent
  10. Well originally I had intended to spend the winter as I usually do: Cooped up inside the house playing playstation or watching movies, occasionally leaving the house to hang out with friends on the few days that the weather permits that kind of activity. But given the current economic situation and my inability to find even a fast food job I've decided to go to the National Guard so I can get money for college. Basic training and training for the career I choose (Leaning towards pharmaceutical at the moment) should take up my entire offseason and then some. But as soon as I come home, with a hefty sign-on bonus in hand, I'll be right back to amusement parks
  11. I agree with Dvo to an extent. I can have a great time at Kings Island whether I'm alone or with friends, but on the flip side of that if I go with the right group of friends then I can have the time of my life and not ride a single ride all day.
  12. Awesome trip report, Angie! It looks like you guys had an absolute blast, and as Jesse said, the pictures back that up. I'm totally jealous that you guys managed to get one last coaster fix in before the "O-word" but I fully intend to make up for it with a SF/CF park marathon at the beginning of the 2010 season I've never been to SFSTL or any tourist attractions in that area, but I must say that reading your trip report and seeing your pictures makes me want to go outside, hop in my car, and head that way right this second!
  13. That's awesome! I'm totally jealous! I grew up in Florida and more or less lived at Disney parks (Mainly Magic Kingdom), Universal, and IOA. But it's been years since I have been to any of them. I'm definitely making it a point to get back to Florida either this year or early next year to go back to some of these parks. I'm eagerly awaiting day 4 of your Trip Report. I hope you have fun at Magic Kingdom! I know I always did
  14. I'll most likely be there as well! I'm hoping the chance of rain will keep most of the crowd away, but it's impossible to say for sure. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  15. I've got a few good ones from this year, but they're not on this computer for me to post them >.<
  16. Teehee I happen to know a certain Stalker that absolutely LOVES that song. Oh wait... Back on topic: I've heard: The Time Warp - Rocky Horror Picture Show (Played in Coney Maul) Dragula - Rob Zombie (Played in Action Zone) This Is Halloween - Marilyn Manson (Played on I-Street) Thriller - Michael Jackson (Played in Rivertown)
  17. Glad you had a good time I got to the park at around noon so I could get some ride time in before I started my shift at Haunt and the park was so empty... I rode Diamondback 8 times without getting out of my seat.
  18. I wouldn't worry about the Haunt being closed on a Friday or Saturday.
  19. Yeah but from what I saw timing was a problem everywhere. Not just in Cemetary Drive. Another problem I saw in multiple attractions were people who tried to pull off a pop-scare by saying "boo" (Mind you I said "saying," as in using the same tone of voice you would use in regular conversation and not screaming, growling, etc.)
  20. Honestly I didn't think Cornstalkers was overly horrible this year. It blew Cemetary Drive out of the water and we even went through Cornstalkers first on rehearsal night, which means it was broad daylight when we went through it.
  21. Before I say what I voted for, let me make clear that since I'm a scareacter in Haunt I've only gone throuh this maze on rehearsal night (And as such, there are six mazes that I wasn't able to go through that night) so my opinion is based on how it was when I went through it. It may have improved since then, but I wouldn't know. Had to get that out of the way so some disgruntled scareacter from this attraction doesn't attack me like what happened when I gave my opinion on Slaughterhouse (Just messin' with ya, Gary ) My vote went for Cemetary Drive. Out of the six haunts I went through on rehearsal night (Cornstalkers, Club Blood, Slaughterhouse, Cut-Throat Cove, Cemetary Drive, and Massacre Manor) that one was by far the worst. The majority of the scareacters were standing right out in the open talking to eachother, and then started doing hasty zombie walks in our direction as we walked through. Not scary at all. Some of the actors were also quite rude. Touching and shoving me and my friends as we walked through. And we even called one of them out on it when he touched one of us and he responded by calling her a profane name. The fog machines were turned on very high in some parts of the maze, and were barely working in other parts. My gut feeling is that this was a technical issue and was addressed thereafter, but I can't be sure. Although the maze wasn't entirely bad. One woman was leanin up against a fence pretending to be a statue and just when I was starting to question wether or not she was real, she jumped out at me which gave me a good jump. Kudos to her.
  22. Mine would have to be the look on the face of the seat separator on Diamondback when we told him we had 24 people It was beyond priceless.
  23. Darn, I was looking forward to getting some scares tonight. Oh well, I guess there's always tomorrow.
  24. Okay, so I guess I was wrong Epic fail on my part, lol.
