PKIVortex
If gates open at 10am what time do the rides start? I thought they weren't going to pull that 10am gate opening at the same time the park does?
tycoonrebel7188
The gates open at 10 a.m. and so do the rides.
BoddaH1994
Ha... I used this as a reminder to myself to buy my season pass, which I just did about 10 minutes ago.
Purplehaze
Also if you already got the temp card last year, your whole family does not need to go. One person can get all the passes on your list. However if you did not get your pic with your temp pass last year you have to be there for your pic.
flightoffear1996
I am going up there Saturday to get my picture taken care of. Well worth the $10 in gas to avoid the long opening day line to get the picture taken.
Cory Butcher
$10 in gas? You either live really far away, or your driving a tank to the park!
WhoDeyForever
Sweet news! To bad I don't have a car..Looks like my mom will be taking me
BoddaH1994
For those of you who haven't read the trip reports from Kings Dominion and Carowinds, the lines tended to get pretty long on opening day. Thankfully, Cedar Fair was smart enough to do this little favor for the fine folks of the Cincinnati area, so I'd highly suggest taking advantage of it if it's at all possible, especially if you are considering enjoying the park on opening weekend. flightoffear1996
$10 in gas? You either live really far away, or your driving a tank to the park! Its 25 miles up and then 25 miles back. So thats 50 miles one trip and my car gets like 16 Miles to a gallon which is a little over 3 gallons.

The Interpreter
Call the park and ask. I cannot imagine that the answer is anything but "Yes, we'd love to sell you an upgraded pass..."

Losantiville
I asked when I got my pass today and they said that all passes that are Maxx passes are also considered gold passes. I also added the all Ohio Parking for $40.05.
The Interpreter
It's my understanding that Maxx passes are gold passes ONLY if purchased from Kings Island, not from some other Cedar Fair park...

I was actually pretty surprised how little people were there, but then again I am sure that the weather had something to do with it!

BoddaH1994
Went around 4:00 today with only one family ahead of me. I didn't have a temp pass, but rather had the printouts from an online purchase. For those of you who didn't know, the season passes do NOT have your photo on them this year, and the photo of the pass on PKI.com is accurate, featuring a ride what looks like it may be The Vortex on it along with the new KI logo. Also noted, the canvas promos hanging over the main gate (side roof of the International Restaurant) now feature ads for Firehawk, Season Passes, and the middle one sports a good ol fashion "Welcome to Kings Island" message on it, of course with the new logo.
