I have to agree, I’m quite excited about the upgrades being made but also hope they keep the pedestals. I also hope they don’t have to paint the floor of the fountain a dark color like they’ve had to do with KD and CW in order to hide the mechanics.

I had no idea that the pedestals were removable at all. I just assumed they were permanent due to all of the plumbing and electric in them.

Is it just an optical illusion or are two of the center pillars in the royal fountain missing? The fountain has always had six running down the center and from all of the pics i’ve seen with the fountain being transformed into snowflake lake, I can only find four. It looks as though the two closest to the bandstand are gone.

I would venture to guess it’s also closed because the structure is accessible from that platform. May be a liability since inevitably someone would climb part of it just because they can try to get away with it.

And this gives another ride that can operate during winterfest

Thanks for that info. I've been thinking about sending an email to see if there is someone at the park I can talk with about all of it but haven't had a chance yet. I might even make a call just to see who to talk to that might have more details.

Hi Everyone, I'm writing a paper about the computer systems and IT that run Kings Island. Not the ride computers but admissions, tickets, networked menu boards, park lighting systems (like all the new lighting for winterfest), etc., and am having a hard time finding information on these things. I have been scouring through google and KICentral and can't seem to find anything on the subject. Any info you may be able to give me or direction you could point me in would be helpful. Thanks

I think it's amazing that since the pictures of DA leaving went up no one has noticed that all of the information for WinterFest has officially been posted on the KI website, Including RIDES!!! I'm So Excited!!!!

Its Kings Island. It will only not be fun if you make it that way The info on the event from the beginning of the thread states that it is a child friendly event but is geared toward adults. I've been to a few pride nights and they are a ton of fun, but since it is a private event I have seen a few things from guests that were slightly adult in nature.

Is it at all possible that the "Yo Adrian" comment could be teasing something having to do with the "Rocky" entrance of "The Crypt" building?

Yep. directly across from the entrance of the church.

It is now at the light in front of Great Wolf Lodge where the north exit is.

From what I understand, the new entrance sign is between the left turn lanes at the light for those coming in from the north and the direct right turn lanes for those coming in from the south. That way everyone will pass it as they enter the park.
