  1. As sad as this is... can we raise $100 million on Kickstarter or GoFundMe?
  2. Holiday weekend. You will see more progress this week.
  3. It doesn't hurt the Hurler rumors either.
  4. I've always felt Six Flags is trying to appeal to brand awareness and focuses on local population for business. Nothing about their structure reminds me of the resort & vacation destination parks. (Eg. Disney, Dollywood, Cedar Point, Busch Gardens) This strategy feels archaic to me. With the vast amount of information on the internet, and cheap travel costs, I would want to differentiate the locations as much as possible. Instead, it sounds like "Come to a Six FlagsĀ® near you to experience and World Class* rides on GoliathTM, BatmanTM, and SupermanTM!"
  5. Was that a publicity campaign or a board meeting?
  6. I counted 16 airtime moments. I bet that is what was meant by "hills" in that sense. The shed is most likely a dark ride type experience. That allows the remaining track to be a full length block without stacking.
  7. A truckload of wood matching the stuff at KI was spotted on I-90 about 25 miles east of Cleveland last night, heading west.
  8. It's not much help, but I can give you a little insight. Groupon does cold calls to businesses until they get the deal they want. We have gotten one other two calls a year for the last 8 years, even after telling them to not call us. Unfortunately I don't know much about their sales.
  9. Who wants to know? Just asking the important questions.
  10. Everyone is giving away my WT seat! Also, I'm biased towards the rear of trains, so I disagree with most of what Hoeter suggested. Mean Streak, sit in the front row of a car, and do what you can to not touch the back of the seat. Maverick has terrible capacity and a lot of downtime. Ride as close to opening as possible.
  11. I still think a camera on top of DBack would provide a better viewing angle.
  12. That looks nothing like the tunnel that is currently there.
  13. I was referring to Bill Spehn. Everyone I know that worked at GL referred to Spehn as "Shrek" so it was contagious.
  14. True. I was there closing day in 2007 and there was no indication that the park would never open again. Even after I spoke to Shrek about the rides being moved and the park being downsized.
  15. It was time because a business can only survive so long without needing further investment. It's been 10 years since anything was invested in the park, and even that was only a fraction of the investment they had planned. That community is not growing, so these "new" businesses are only going to be pulling from a very small local community, when in the past they had an extra million people come through every summer.
  16. Funny. The link was up yesterday but wasn't active. It's a great view of the first hill, but we won't see anything back in the woods.
  17. I certainly find it interesting that retail stores keep showing up across the street from an empty plaza. Without the park there, what are those businesses doing to drive traffic to the area? Adding a superstore won't create more people.
  18. Pioneer Waterland outside Chardon, OH. They have 5 slides and a lazy river.
  19. Because the animation is just an animation and not a rendering of the finished ride? The plans submitted to the city had 3 rows in many areas.
