If you have been to Cedar Point, you would know how massive that tower is, and by that measure could tell that the slides can be hundreds of yards away and still look very close.

I really hope it's not another shooter dark ride. I don't know what makes the Triotech versions popular, having never ridden one, but I want to just enjoy riding, if I wanted to "participate" I'd go to the arcade.

One minute of actual ride time is about the standard in the industry. Also, the GCI employee at the announcement claimed to not know what is in the shed, and he worked on the design. I'm assuming he would have known about a switchback section. Also, that turn is definitely not too small for a ride vehicle.

I'm not one to condone jumping fences at amusement parks, we've seen how that can end...But, someone that wants to cake-decorate those footers would definitely entertain me.

I think with a wooden coaster, drilling after would give better flexibility and accuracy for post locations.

I can't speak for Thunderbird, as it's been at least a year since I rode it. But you can see the drive wheels on Gatekeeper move when you hear that loud clank as it pulls in the station.

Gatekeeper entering the station is the drive wheels hitting the stops between the cars. It's a different sound.

If I remember correctly, those are the anti-rollbacks dropping as the ride hits the bottom of the hill.

Physically impossible without having powered trains. The turnaround beyond WWC is significantly lower than the reservoir crossing, and therefore must be going faster at that point.

Those are definitely forms for the footers. They are going to need a few of those.

I'll take Magnum XL-200 over Diamondback every day of the week, and twice on Tuesdays. The "out of control" feeling provided by hand-engineered (aka, no CAD) rides cannot really be matched in the age of auto-smoothing "NoLimits" Force-Vector style designs. You can tell every inch of these newer rides has been calculated down to the millimeter.

I never found the bunny hills at the end to be painful at all... Maybe a bit uncomfortable in 1-3, but that's about it.

That trim on the first drop really changes it into a completely different ride. Many of us that enjoy the ride still vividly remember before they slowed it to a crawl, and when it had that huge fan turn after the first drop. People often forget that was also neutered when they added trims.

Well the reply I quoted listed "teens" as a demographic group, and therefore included the "some/many" prefix inherently.

Most footers are attached to larger undersoil foundations. Under Valravn's lift, for example, is a huge slab foundation that has 4-6 footers on it.
