Strata has already been said a couple times. I think the only coasters over 400 feet are Top Thrill types. And an Intamin LSM shuttle coaster. OK, but weak. It's more like a drop zone ride.

Exactly where is the new WWC entrance in relation to where it used to be? Remember, I haven't been to the park in quite some time.

Makes sense. We are wanting the construction to start so bad that we are reading things into everything at this point.

If it is a fence or wall like Kenban said, it's an awful short wall. Why would they build a wall only 5 feet tall or something? Unless they are going to weld more I beams on to the ones sticking out of the ground.

What about a wooden launch coaster? I would be thrilled if this new project was similar to Lightning Rod, but I know it's not. That would be pricey.

For the train or for the coaster? What if they are building a train tunnel that the coaster goes on top of? haha

Strata coaster for sure. If the rumors are right about KI height restriction then KI will never have a strata coaster.

I find it amazing that KI was able to pull off The Beast using "in house" people. That is unheard of now days. I'm sure the guys they had were great at what they do, but they had never built a roller coaster before, correct? KI had a lot of balls to attempt it, but thinking about it, I imagine there were very few companies or even individuals who specialized in building coasters in those days. The fact that The Beast is still running and still one of the best today shows the level of planning that went into it IMO.

Only ride I ever got sick on. Thank God I made it to the bathroom first. Don't think I've ridden too many spin type rides since and I was probably only 11 or 12 at the time. Awesome thread by the way.

Quiet around here today. Let me toss this out. If some of the guesses are right and the big first hill comes screaming around that curve immediately to a bridge over the water....how sweet would that be? Anybody agree?

The Beast paws were awesome. Made me even more scared of the ride before I had been on it.

Speaking of Flight of Fear, anybody ever do the "people fell off" trick. My nephew had never ridden it, so we are in the que lines waiting to get on when an empty train pulls in (as you know they unload in a different area) and I got an idea and said "look Aaron, the people must have all fallen out of that train". haha He was practically on the verge of tears saying he didn't want to ride. I felt bad. Sort of

Really? I guess that doesn't apply to the internet when they are hiding behind their keyboards. I read the comments on youtube and it makes me mourn for humanity.(much of comments I suspect people of younger nature) The hate and callousness on there is unreal. To be fair, I do think idiots of all ages come out of the woodwork on sites like youtube.

I'll guess Timber Falls being that chances are it might interact with WWC. Plus, the "falling" trees.

This was posted a week or two ago. Others have been posting similar layouts. The problem with going around the water is that it would put the coaster going over/through the train shed. Thats almost certainly not going to happen. Another problem with making the current spot they are working on the "area of work" is that the area of work is the north side of the bridge abutment. There would be no need for a bridge or abutment if they were going around the water. The coaster is pretty much going to have to go over WWC at some point if not multiple points. Once you accept that into your planning, it's about making it make sense from a design standpoint. The majority of the footers were done, and they were ready to go vertical. Yeah....I just went and read a lot of the Banshee decoding thread. People were seriously hyped like they are for this one. I doubt this one breaks any records, but I still think it will be awesome.

So how much of the site prep or construction was done before they announced the Banshee coaster?

Well, plenty of parks are still running them. They have to get their parts from somewhere. I thought they were awesome to get from one area of the park to another and get scenery on the way.

This is a big level of nerdom when we are discussing how many rows of beams. haha.

Did you post this previously? That's almost what I just posted except you go over the water after the drop and I go around the water. I was hoping they would interact with the water somehow, but I was just guessing going by where they are currently setting beams. Wouldn't yours go right over WWC?

Where is all this clearing at? It's hard for me to visualize. Can you point it out on the google map? That clearing would be where you placed the first hill. around about So it makes sense so far? LOL! The blueprints say "AREA OF WORK" right where they are putting steel beams in by my layout. Hmmmm......I am totally prepared to be 100% WRONG Where would my guess put the coaster station at? Is that over by picnic grove?
