  1. Yeah, a ticket is technically 42.99, but you're a fool if you actually pay that. There are always ways to get coupons to go. You can save at least 10 bucks a ticket just by buying them online. The food prices are obscene, though. I mean, $2.75 for a Coke? Geesh.
  2. I don't particularly recall signing any type of confidentiality statement, but I am quite sure that if any associate released any type of secret information (IE why a ride breaks down, radio signals, or what the food in Oscar's is made of ), PKI's response would be swift and brutal. I think there is something about that in the employee handbook, though. Supposed to refer guests to Jeff Siebert for those sorts of things. And for the dude who wants to be a ride operator at PKI, we make $7.00 an hour.
  3. #1: PKI is advertising that Fearfest will be free for Season Passholders in 2004. #2: YOU think just the lines were bad on 10-11? Try having to do ALL the cleaning for Son of Beast AND Top Gun - a job that normally takes 6 people 45 minutes - with three people. I didn't get out until around 1:30 AM.
  4. Look at Brood # 10. Hits every 17 years, and it will hit in 2004. States affected: Deleware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virigina, West Virginia. Now, I believe that includes Ohio and every state that borders it.
  5. I'm confused. How do you jump the wall when you're in the lake?
  6. I would think that they would have some impact. There are a lot of woods nearby where these things can hatch from. Keep in mind that Mason/Kings Mills as we know it today did not exist 17 years ago - it was mostly Kings Island and forests out there. I would imagine that because of that there would be a lot of locusts. But I think that the things are pretty much harmless. They're just really ugly and really numerous. I'm only 17, I don't remember the last outbreak, but I have been told that it was absolutely terrible.
  7. So true. As a ride operator, the most dangerous type of person in my opinion is not an enthusiast who has ridden the ride God only knows how many gazillions of times, but the parent who refuses to obey our height requirements and give me and other park staff excuses as to why their kid should be allowed to ride, even when others cannot, and will do almost anything to get that kid on the ride. It shocks me that many never even think about why we have saftey requirements in the first place. Many people also do not seem to know about the intensity of the ride, despite the MANY warnings that are posted at enterances, and at SOB, the PA announcement that goes off automatically every few minutes. People still ask us if we think they are OK to ride, sometimes after waiting in line for more than an hour. People do stupid stuff on these rides, too - everything from pulling out a cell phone or camera half-way up the lift to making out on the ride - all very dangerous things to do. Even if you haven't seen the rules, some level of common sense must prevail here. If you are holding a cell phone going at 70 mph and lose it, it could severely injure or possibly kill another rider. We don't want that. You don't want that. And I'm sure that the person sitting behind you doesn't want that. Parks have saftey rules to keep you, the staff, and other guests safe and happy. Breaking them will get you nowhere - except possibly, a trip with a security guard. And to anyone who cannot or will not realize that, I say
  8. That thing about not sitting on a wheel at SOB - true, it is smoother. But you're still going to get bounced around, don't kid yourself.
  9. It would be cool if you guys got a behind-the scenes look for a little bit. It really is hard to imagine all the stuff that goes on at PKI in a day, especially at some of the larger rides.
  10. I would have to fine a new job, for one thing. And life for teenagers in Cincy would REALLY suck. Not we have a lot to do now anyways.
