Usually with a parent swap, you'll have the first set of riders enter the line and the second set wait outside of line. Have the separator or unload operator sign the parent swap card after the first set leaves, and then the second set comes up the exit with the card (to confirm they have a parent swap) and gets to ride at the earliest. IMO this system is convoluted and dumb and is carefully constructed so that there's as little liability on the park as possible. All rides should have kiddie corrals like The Beast and Racer. They take up valuable space, yes, but the time they save the ride operators and riders will pay itself off in the first season. Just make the corrals tall enough so that kids can't jump out of them.

Just ask. If a ride's absolutely slammed, don't bother, but a normal wait time and I'm sure 90% of us are willing to oblige, some less enthusiastic as others.

My biggest nitpick: the lack of maintenance of Dinosaurs Alive. It's pretty obvious that the park took no care of them and that it'd often be DA employees I'd see cleaning the dinosaurs with soap and a washcloth. The dinosaurs were barely protected during the off-season and the only maintenance was done by the attraction's leasers. I'm sure it's in the contract that KI can't perform maintenance on the dinosaurs, but I was sent to DA when they had "Dinosaurs Unearthed" send their maintenance people, and they hadn't even been informed what maintenance was needed - it was just a routine check-in by DU. I'm sure Dino's land will be used well for upcoming attractions, but DA could've been better and stayed longer if KI cared about it at all. My nitpick.

My problem with Voyage is that it isn't The Beast.

I don't think any single statistic can determine whether or not a ride will get an RMC conversion. It is highly circumstantial and a case-by-case basis. Say "Roller Coaster X" at "Amusement Park X" is rough, has low ridership, and has a good history and place in the park. "Roller Coaster Y" at "Amusement Park Y" is also rough, and has low ridership, but is poorly placed. X may get a conversion, while Y may just get torn down to open up for future expansion. I'm certain that a large factor in deciding to do a conversion is number crunching, but there are many factors beyond just "It's rough and nobody rides it."

Since we're talking about Dive coasters now, I'd rather see one come to KI than a giga. B&M would be nice, but depending on whether or not Bangtime is good, I'd also love to see a Gerstlauer come to the park (there's not much diversity... 2 B&Ms, 3 Arrows, 3 Vekomas, 2 Premiers, a PTC, GCI, and an in-house, with many manufacturers doing multiple KI flats as well). A great place for one really would be in Action Zone in part of SoB's unused plot. The terrain is fantastic and would make a great place for a wing or a dive. Just please, make them better than GateKeeper/Valravn, we don't need mediocre rides.

In my experience, do not do that. I really hurt my back (as a teenager) trying to ride it like that. I've found it's much less painful when you use your arms to brace yourself, but not your spine and core. Moral of the story: choose whichever riding style will work for you, because you know your body better than anyone can.

No, CF was renewing KI's contract on a yearly basis since 2016 (16 & 17). You're half correct, but IMO there's a difference between exhausting a contract and failing to renew it.

There's literally millions of different things they could do with that area. Dinos was removed due to its age and lack of maintenance (which is both the fault of KI and Dinosaurs Unearthed). Do not try and trap yourself into the mindset that it could ONLY be a giga or RMC; you will set yourself up for disappointment, every time. KI and CF are all about ROI, and based on the popularity of Mystic, we could very well see another good woodie sometime in the near future. SOB 2.0 with all that terrain down there?

I had no idea that even happened. Was it high or low? I was under the impression that our WindSeeker was the only that never went 29#high.

Millie and TTD do draw crowds, but a lot of people just go for the sheer amount of rides available at this point. New rides every two years draw crowds, obviously, but it's not like KI where people come to ride Diamondback - they know that CP has an insane collection of high-thrill rides and wants to try them all. I believe SFMM has a similar appeal at this point.

Previously, I made this comment (there was a lot more I edited out that wasn't pertinent) about how I see the next five years playing out, based on KI's history of being reactive rather than proactive to market developments, past trends, and how other parks in the area are evolving. I didn't feel like typing the same thing but differently, so here's my thoughts on when we'll see a giga and other additions to the park.

Speaking of the new logo, I made a parody of it for r/rollercoasterjerk on Reddit.

Rebel Yell is considered pretty offense by some people, seeing as the battle cry of the Confederates was the "Rebel Yell." I think the name was a very cool and unique one, and a callback to the history of the region - I've seen some people on Reddit saying "if there was a coaster in Germany called 'Blitzkrieg' or one in South Africa called 'Apartheid' they'd change the name, so why not Rebel Yell?" I disagree with that, because IMO Rebel Yell is harmless in itself but that's a moot point now. I'm not so much mad they changed the name as I am that the new name is unoriginal and frankly not very good. Virginia has a very rich history, not all of which is related to the Civil War, so why not rename it something with a bit of spunk (like Rebel Yell?)

But I'll hold out hope that Racer 75 gets renamed. What a terrible name.

Except when they closed Monster due to low staffing and attendance during Fun Week in 2016. But that's the only time I remember it happening.

I'd love to have a MACK in the vein of Blue Fire or Helix, but not where BLSC is. The way MACK coasters interact with the terrain would make the Dinos area a better fit (alongside being wooded). I'd love to see something go where BLSC is, but not a coaster.

Hey I mean the nickname for the Monster Scrambler Dodgem Crew is MSD.... makes me burst out laughing cause MSD is the sewer utility for Cincinnati. Spent more than my fair share of time at MSD. Won't say in what capacity because I want to stay semi-anonymous, but I can confirm that this comparison is half true.

I think that a layout similar to that is likely but with a different orientation. I think having the ride in this direction is more likely. Purple is where Banshee is (estimation), blue is a station/queue area, and green is the area where the giga could go (also maybe into that field up to the north). I know it's cut off at the bottom, but it just covers the Dinosaurs Alive area but doesn't pass behind Racer's turn around.

Plus, Kings Island and Cedar Point (probably more CF parks too) have more than one invert. I think a B&M invert or wing would fit well into CW's lineup.

Said while CF is building Steel Vengeance, Twisted Timbers, Railblazer, and Hangtime (and having heavy renovations done to Timberwolf) all in one year. I do have to say though, a few pages ago I laid out in detail why I believe the Giga will come in '21/'22, so I can't voice any support for '19 predictions.

Honestly, let's start on a Racer retrack and if that works we can move onto Vortex.

I agree that it's similar, but honestly, at this only people who have been going to KI for decades are going to remember the tragic events. The woman's death was due to her intoxication and happened almost 30 years ago (1991), and the ride closed almost 25 years ago. The pond electrocutions also happened in '91, but we still have a pond and koi fish to feed in it all this time later.
