Kings Dominion Rumored to get 2021 Wing coaster
Zader replied to Benjamin22's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
After my visit last summer, I've decided that KD is the positive G capital of the world. I like strong forces just as much as the next guy, but I think their lineup is really missing something that doesn't make you feel like you got hit with a Mac truck -
Fun Spot looks into buying Indiana Beach
Zader replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Indiana beach is about halfway to Michigan headed North. Holiday world is near the Southern border. Someone who lives near Indiana Beach (if they don't go to SF Great America, which might be closer) could go South to Indy and head East to KI. On this path they would pass Stricker's Grove but wouldn't be far enough South to go by HW or KK -
This one hurt a little.. I agree
-
I did as well. The one thing I wish KI would bring back is the water in the pool after the jump out of the Billboard, but I can't complain since it's the only one that still has all the rest of the theming

Did someone say an interactive revival of Dinosaurs Alive?

Looks like there could be a RMC Raptor coming to Wild Water West in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I think this could be a really good draw for South Dakota. I know there are some national parks, but I'm not much of a nature guy so this could probably get me to SD https://www.keloland.com/news/local-news/wild-water-west-says-roller-coaster-project-in-very-preliminary-stage/ **Edit -Added proposal letter (posted by _trollercoaster_ on /r/rollercoasters) https://www.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/f8xyxk/plans_for_rmc_raptor_at_wild_water_west_in_sioux/fio8nrf)

Maybe I'm just a weirdo but I think there is a distinction between racing and dueling. Racing coasters follow pretty much the same layout and the tracks and trains stay pretty much side by side for the whole ride.* Dueling coasters have different layouts for each side while still running at the same time. Examples of this would be West Coast Racers, Twisted Colossus, Dueling Dragons (or Dragon Challenge) and Lightning Racer at Hersheypark. *with the exceptions of getting to the lift and the brake runs
-
West Coast Racers just opened at SFMM but an S&S multi-launch dueling coaster would be pretty neat in that area. I think the closest dueling coaster to KI would be Lightning Racer at Hersheypark

Cedar Point Ticket of a Lifetime

I entered yesterday. I didn't win any of the instant win prizes, but I figure I'll enter each week and see what happens. Here is the link if anyone wants to enter but didn't know where to find it https://www.ticketofalifetime.com/ -
Don't forget that Steel Curtain just won best new steel coaster with a record 9 inversions in NA and the world's tallest inversion
-
I haven't seen anything about a conversion or a coaster leaving so I think this is pretty unlikely that something major like this would be happening. It isn't completely out of the question obviously but the odds that there would be major changes to the park without any official word from the park seems improbable. Alternatively, maybe I've been living under a rock and there was an announcement or teaser I missed
-
I meant a ground up topper track RMC like Lightning Rod or Outlaw Run
-
While I think an RMC would be a great addition for the park, for some reason I just can't see it on Vortex's land. My guess is when they do add an RMC, it will be a wood topper track so they can tack another coaster on to the "most wood track in a park" record. Something I just thought of, in trying to give the coaster a vintage look with a new feel, I wonder if we could see a new Vekoma looper. It seems like they're making a resurgence in the European market, but I haven't really seen any here in the states. I'm also not sure about the height requirements on the Vekoma coasters
-
I think looking out over the park right before diving would be amazing, especially at sunset. It would give a really unique view of the park. I also think a plaza like Valravn has would be really neat. One entrance to the plaza could be where the batwing was with an inversion over the path

As someone who was 1 when this was recorded, this was a really interesting look at the park for me

Thorpe Park 2020

The nature of the teasers makes me feel like it may be something similar to Smiler at Alton Towers, but I'm not sure how well that ride's reputation recovered after the incident in 2015 -

I'm in for drums if your hair looks like his does @silver2005 -
I think a B&M dive with a drop that faces the Eiffel Tower would be cool. It would be an awesome view of the whole park, especially at sunset. Do I think we need another B&M? No necessarily. Do I think we will see any hint of innovation with the next coaster installed? I really hope so. With the terrain changes in The Vortex area I really think something like Time Traveler would work really well.
