Yeah, "they" did. But now, the question is did Cedar Fair get ownership of Paramount props in the park? Maybe yes, maybe no.
-
Not anymore. GL's Oktoberfest was, like Winterfest at Kings Island, cancelled. In fact, the park now closes Sunday, September 17!

Take a careful look at that website. After looking carefully, you should decide for yourself whether that "organization" has any credibility whatsover. In the opinion of most who have done so, its so called reports are in no way scientific or professional. Let's wait on the state's report, and those of actual experts. -
This one refers to all Cedar Fair dry parks as "amusement parks," and doesn't give special mention to Cedar Point: http://top40-charts.com/news.php?nid=25388

Yep, as contrasted with Cedar Point, where alcohol can be and is carried in cups throughout the park. . .
-
Alcohol was initially banned following Black Sunday....but was soon back. . .
-
Sure....the better question is do they have the money to do so, especially now... And will it pay off for the park if they do?
-
Four year olds can't ride Reptar either. What's the point?
-
If Wicked Twister is a thrill ride, so is Reptar. Sheesh.... With thrills like that, why go anywhere else?
-
That was a joke, silly! Cedar Point would never ever build any little people rides. They care about us thrill seekers, unlike KI. Really? Then why did they build Wicked Twister? --The Interpreter, being evil. . .

What does setting forth the "facts" to "this woman" have to do with her winning or losing her suit??? -
Weren't you delirious recently?
-
And this from a park that was once so proud that it was an amazement park, not a theme park. What's next? Thrills at Kings Island?

No judge in any common pleas court has the final say. That's what courts of appeal are for. And if a judge has a history of deciding in favor of the park, you can bet your sweet bippy that either the judge will recuse himself, the parties will ask that s/he does, or there will be strong grounds for an appeal. -
I would bet money that the contract for sale of the parks provides that Paramount props that are no longer used in the parks are to be returned to CBS and/or Viacom.
-
And, with any luck, the "Cedar Fair learns a lot from PP's way of doing business Day."

The waiver on the back of the ticket means only that additional ink was used. It has virtually no legal effect. And if someone trips on their shoe lace, they can and some most certainly do sue the park. . . -
Cedar Fair took on a very large debt when they acquired Paramount Parks. They need to be very careful when they tailor the season pass program for next year. They want to get maximum value out of that pass program. If they cut benefits too much, they will lose money. If they raise the price too much, they will lose on volume more than they net in increased revenue per pass (ask Six Flags). I do NOT see the pass program continuing as is, nor do I see them including Cedar Point with standard season passes. I don't even see them including parking with a standard season pass. As for a gold pass night at Fear Fest, if they do that, I want to KNOW when it is. Based on my experiences with similar things at Six Flags, that will be the one night I want to be sure to avoid. Far from being exclusive, that would doubtless become the busiest night for Fear Fest.

How Geauga Lake's marketing (and market area) has changed since Cedar Fair bought the park from Six Flags, and how Kennywood and Geauga Lake compete for customers (any lessons for KI followers here?): http://www.crainscleveland.com/apps/pbcs.d...26006/1025/2020

Dick Kinzel said during the conference call that he values the input of the Paramount Parks people as the company goes down this new course. I, for one, believe him. At least as to the Paramount Parks people that survive the initial parts of this journey, as the company gains "snyergistic benefits." (AKA layoffs, streamlining and ending what the British call 'redundancies.')

That assumes they know what they are going to do. Many things remain to be decided. Why can't some people understand that? There are meetings galore, arguments and decisions that have yet to occur. And even decisions made may be changed. . .

will they rename the rides of the paramount parks?

Italian Chef: I actually think that not only will they retain the Nick franchise the entire four years, they may even pay to expand it to their other parks and/or renew it after the four years is over. . .Nick is far more popular than Snoopy, but who knows how that will be four years from now? Four years is an eternity in children's television. -

As Maureen has answered again and again, the park has never collected one dime of the settlement from the Roller Coaster Corporation of Ohio. So, that's what happened to that money...the park has not received it. . . And El Toro was just built. SOB was constructed in 1999-2000, over six years ago. . .and the general contractor was someone by the name of Paramount Parks. -
My guess is that is where any remaining merchandise will be sent to. It will either be that or that it will just be destroyed. Having worked for Cedar Point. Cedar Fair has a tendancy to toss a lot of merhandise instead of selling it. Keep us all updated! Given their current debt load, that practice may change. Wholesalers will pay for it, and that is a lot more than getting $o.oo AND paying for its disposal. . .
