Hi there, Since I work over 80 hours I got four free tickets, so my dad wanted to come after I got off of work at Four o'clock. I clocked out at 4:07 and meet up with my dad at our Van so we could eat something before going in, so we didn't have to pay those high prices. Anyways I reentered the park at 4:31. I brought my Cannon Power Shot A510 with me. First we headed over to Action Zone to see what was running, Drop Zone running so we headed over to it. We got in line at 4:42 and waited about 15 mins, I got seat 32. So we headed up and you can really see the GWL still being built, along with the slides. Anyway we dropped at 4:54. After that we got on Top Gun with little wait. When walking to get to Son of Beast line I snapped some shots of Drop Zone. Now I heard some good stuff on there about Son Beast being beater, we got in line at 5:18. It was about around a 50 min wait, it started off good the drop from the station to catch the lift, first drop was good, the thread hill was ok, but man the first helix was brutal. But the loop was breath taking, to me there was some improvement. All in all, to me its still the same as the last time I rode it, I can only ride it ounce now pretrip. After that we got on Adventure Express, which was a walk on, but still and good ride. Left October Fest and went into Coney Mall for The Racers. We first rode Forwards, and let me tell you that in the front car the ride was 100% smooth, no rough spot, no jerky spots, just a perfect ride. We didn’t race that time but the next two times we did. The second time we rode it on the backwards side we raced and won that one by a car length. We got on it again for a 3rd time going forwards, and just lost by a car length again. Earlier in the day I though the park closed at 8 o’clock, but after hearing that it closed at 10 o’clock we stopped off at Skyline Chili to eat a bite, I had a single cheese Coney with everything on it and a reguraler size Coke, same for my dad. Its hard not make a mess with the cheese. I shot some pictures of the Eiffel Tower with the sun next to it. We headed over to see what the wait for Flight of Fear was, the line was trying to come out of the building so we skipped it and headed over to Vortex. Walking through the park as a guest is very weird Im used to working. Vortex at 7:01 it had a short to no wait on it, we grabbed the front seat. It was neat be going up the lift and seeing the second train going throw the mid-course break and going throw the corkscrews. We rode it two more times. After Vortex we heading over to FX Theater for the Hana-Barbera film at 7:27, it was good and fun to see the HB family on the big screen. After we got off FX Theater we headed over to IJST at 7:41, got on it at 8:08 with a 38 minute wait. It was still good and fun as last year. We got off and got on The Beast at 8:22, again little to no wait depending on what seat you wanted, it was a good, had a nice kind of roughness. We got it three times in a row. We then got on IJST again, it got dark around 9:04. We got the back car at 9:10, in the back car that’s when you get a little spray, night rides on IJ are so neat, seeing the police cars on and the other lights on. After that since Delirium wasn’t running earlier we headed for it. We got on it at 9:40 with a 10 min wait. After that we saw Drop Zone going so we grabbed another ride on it at 9:49. The night ride on both Delirium and Drop Zone were perfect! To end the night off we got a front seat ride on Top Gun, again perfect night ride. When we got off we stayed and watched the fireworks, I shot some pictures of them going off throw SOB’s lift hill and then up by SOB’s restrooms. All in all we had good half day trip. We left the park at 10:09. I may but some of my pictures up from my photo web site.

Here some of my tips for your trip this upcoming June. Kings Island, if it turns out to be a warm dry day it'll be somewhat busy. So try to get there early to get in some of the major rides, before the lines get busy. The ones you can't miss are, The Beast, Son of Beast, Flight of Fear, Face/Off, Vortex, Racers (Both sides), Delerium, Drop Zone, and if it is warm jump on White Water Canyon(if you ride it bring an exrta pair of cloths). And to save some money, eat outside the park, but make sure to get your hand stamiped. And yeah Fields Ertal exit has some good places to eat. Now I may go up on my day off, still don't know. For Cedar Point, if you want to get some extra stuff, stay at Breakers Express. Its just one mile south of the park on 1201 Cedar Point Drive. Agian like Kings Island, get there early to get the major rides in, beause those lines will get long. The rides you can't miss are the number one Steel coaster in the world Millennium Fore, the 3th ranked Magnum XL 200, the 7th 420 foot Top Thrill Dragster, and the number 11th steel coaster Raptor. The other ones you can't miss are, Mantis, Mean Streak, the classic Blue Streak, Power Tower. There prices are somewhat down compaired to PKI's are. At Holiday World, you won't spend alot of money there. The only things you spend money on are, admission to get in, food, and a locker. Parking, Enterce to there water park, inner tubs, and soft drinks (Pepsi products) are free all day. The rides you can miss are, The Raven, The legend, Freedom Tower, seeing and meeting Santaclaus , and there new coaster The Voyage . They do have a fun and wet water park, but in both wave pools theres no inner tubs allowed in. I didn't really remeber must about SFKK when I went there, so I can't give much info about that. Hope this helps, and if your driving the long distance from Calf to over here thats one long trip! But hope you have a good time and drive and stay safe.

Yes I think getting some new trains may also help with getting the ride smoother and rerideable thow out the day. Like riding The Beast seven times in a day and not getting painfully sore at the end of the day. Like I did when riding SOB two or more times in a day, it hurts.

Cedar Fair Purchases Paramount Parks!
TopThrill replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I heard the good news this morning from my dad, I hope Paramount emplyoes can get into Cedar Fair parks? -
Yes that would be neat to see the park when it first opened up.

I know the train was running today Sunday May 21, the sign that set in the enterence before is gone. That'll be my best guess.

After hearing your commites about Son of Beast, I think the next time I get a off day, I'll have to ride it. To me in 2000 when it opened up, it was smooth and enjoyable, then after that it got badder. I love the station being 50 feet tall, the 218 foot peak height, the 214 foot drop, the huge helix, the 119 foot loop. But the roughness I hated. Thanks for you commites, I'll have to ride it the next chance I get!!

Hay kjkjkj, good to see your group had a good time dispite the large and massive mobs of people. They kept up busy the hole day. And shame on you FlightofFear1996 for going to the bathroom in pool , but hay over 20% of people do that all the time, so for you and your friends that makes 21% .

All I can say is that the day was crazy, It was hard just getting my cart'en or truck throw the croweds, to change the trash cans.

Hay good to see you guys got some rides in, and guess how many people were at the park on Saturday 20th of May, anyone?? At 3:00 when my closed shift started, 18,000 plus, and at 5:00pm a whopping 32,000 plus, yes you could say the park was busy! I heard that IJ had to close early from something, so they brought the people in line over to Beast to let them ride. And man did you see all those school and grey hound style bus's to, there was 30 plus bus's! But the day ended on A high note, I was there still helping clean up 9:20pm, the park closed at 8:00pm .

I was there on opening day, that was a long 10 hour day. My department was under staffed some what, from the fact that most of our people are still in school. I was shocked to see that the Train ride will be closed still BB is open, that kind'a make me mad haveing a ride closed till the end of may and not telling people about that(at the front gate, along with SOB). They do have two yellow billborad things outside the front gate, but the lettering is written in small type. Were its not a eye catcher, there were charning full prices and little over half the major rides were down, to me that shouldn't have be going on. But the next two weekends more rides were running and every, so its better now. Hope you come back flightoffear1996!

Hay nice trip report, yes air time on Thee Congo is fun and a little freakie.
-
Im glad you had a good trip, we (some ) In Ecology try our best. Those little napkins are a pain to run down and pick up.
-
Good to hear you had a good time Italianchef, to what skywriter said. When I was leaving the park at around 4:15 I say a Mason police and some park police running into the park from the back lot. Guess that was what they were running to?
-
I hear you, I can't wait for a day off to ride some rides! And I think the music is very nice and enjoyable to hear, my fav one on Istreet is the MI2, Top Gun, StarTrek. In NU the "Its a Perfict Day" is such a good song
-
Hay glad you and your nephew had a good time DragonLord. Every time I ride Vortex, I try to grab the front seat of the car. I can't wait to ride The Beast this year!!! You said that it was your first time entering throw the front gate in five years, were did you work at last year.
-
Yeah on Friday and Saturday were I was working both a all day, Alot of the major rides were breaking, or like Delirium which I don't think ever opened. On Saturday IJ opened up, then during little passed miday it closed and nerver opened up. I heared FaceOff and Thee Congo had some truoble running to. I do hope these are just opening weekend hickups, and that the problems will be worked out and running smoothly.
-
Yep were wearing our ID's as name tags, HappyDays Dinner doens't have a DJ or music playing outside, That the big gaming booth by Vortex last year was removed, Oscars were employers eat had a make over with even better food, with little higher prices, Coney mall has some new music, as does Nick Nick also got new gray trash cans, around 80 or 90 in total.
-
Hay now that I now that its you, our paths my meet in near furture . Happy Easter to you to

I know that the price to park was 10$, but I didn't know that the prices for food and etc went up. On opening day we were not that staffed well (Maybe the grand opeing should had been on Saturday) And I and fellow eco workers were getting some bad comits about the star rides that had some little down time, or some major down, and some didn't even open. But I did like the new make over that NU got, the bright colors and new lay out. I was suprised to see WWC open and running to.
