  1. ^If that was the case then logically all 5 of the LIM Bowl coasters would close as well... that's just not happening, is it?
  2. ^ KBF is 10 miles from Disneyland, and both very close to LA. PGA is just north of San Fransisco, making the parks a good 6-7 hour drive apart.
  3. If it is a retheme and an extensive one at that, then they will have to remove stuff then put in whatever new stuff they are adding. That would take longer than building something from scratch. What I really don't get, and certainly don't agree with is the way they go about doing this. "Starting" things in the middle of the off season and "closing" the ride for all of this coming season not giving notice of what they are doing and not offering last rides on it As Is. Not to mention the rumor comes out, they remove it from the site that day, and give no statement leaving people confused and angry. We're still sitting in the dark a couple days later and still no word is coming out of the park. I have little faith in their operation protocol even if the end result is something great.
  4. Pkd toying with my emtions! I Can't Take It! ( As I rip my Pkd hoodie off and throw it to the floor ) And with normal Pkd style I'm sure a press release about whatever is going on will come late...
  5. Even if this is a retheme, seems many people don't pay attention to the surverys close enough. The original concept did feature MTV as part of the theme, but when it was put out on a later survey the MTV aspect was missing leading to many assumptions that MTV was not fit for the family type atmosphere that the parks are "trying" to go for... I wouldn't mind a new retheme since the ride does need attention, since the ride is rapidly retheming itself to: DUST:The Ride! But seriously I'd much rather prefer a simple cleaning and fixing of the current theme. The problem with that is the GP doesn't care or barely would notice a change and therefore not make money... But hopefully this is just some sick joke...
  6. Thank you. I just hope someone in the admin office looks at it, which I know some of them do. If only I could get their reactions
  7. Well over on PkdPlace we're bashing Turbo Coaster so badly that hopefully they will change it back. Stunt Coaster was perfectly fine and I was starting to actually accept it.
  8. Looks like you guys are going to have an awesome time at Winterfest, I can only hope that Kings Dominion will join in on the spirit next year.
  9. As far as I know the brakes on the actual hill are only used if the compressed air mis-fires and uses too much power. They arn't used in the case of a roll back. Before HyperSonic gets to the launch-way it passes through a stretch of brakes, then it hooks onto the launch hook, and launches. When it does roll back it rolls past where it just launched and is stopped by the brakes right before the launch section. It doesn't get caught again by the launch hook again because after launching it stretches itself out to be flat. Seen Here Though a roll back is very rare and I myself have not seen one. I know it happened a few times on it's media day.
  10. Sea Serpent like that found on Medusa at SFMW. I think rcdb calles it a "roll over" and as far as I know it's the only one on a B&M coaster, floorless no less...
  11. You'd think being obsessed with parks and having to walk around all day would take off some pounds... I'd take Intamin anyday over B&M, I love the out of control feeling and lack of trim brakes (on mostly all of them) that Intamin has. Plus B&M doesn't have any launched coasters (and Hulk doesn't count cause B&M didn't make that launch).
  12. Awesome looking ride, but in reality it really sucks. You can barely notice any change in elevation with the controls and it personally makes me dizzy (one of the very few rides that does too) and I really wish KD would get rid of ours.
  13. I've noticed the flashing ad at the top of the main page is beyond uber annoying...
  14. So I went to PKD today, first time since like mid July to actually ride stuff. Anyway Tomb Raider's top wooden rail (where the pkd804 crap went on) is covered in names and other such graffiti; it just looked all around bad because people have no respect. Though I didn't see his own work, I did see far too many others. Not to mention there is little shade when going from the bottom section of the line walking up to where the line splits to either side of the ride itself, there should be bamboo, or shades, or at least misting fans. I kept your post in mind while visiting this time and was really looking for this filth... didn't really find filth... On the most part it seemed just as clean as it should be minus the daily few items guests leave around becuase of lack of respect (aka: plastic water cup and a crumpled map). I mean I know it can't be perfect all the time, but I counldn't find terrible.
  15. Being from Virginia myself I wouldn't say that to be true, any state is full of a-holes. What gives you the right to even start to complain about how crappy the park looks when it's people like you messing it up in the first place? We have a half-ass theme on Tomb Raider already we don't need little ****'s like you messing up what we already have. No respect. Trust me on one thing, if I see you doing any **** to the park I will do everything in my power to get you thrown out.
  16. Has anyone been on the ride at night? If so, was it better than a day time ride? ( just seems like it's the kind of ride that would be enhanced by the night...)
  17. 1) Is there anything on PKIC that is INCONVENIENT to get to? ~I don't see this as a huge deal, but since I'm on a laptop and sometimes don't have a mouse the Menu can be somewhat of a pain to work with. Not a huge deal just heads up. 2) Is there anything about the LAYOUT of PKIC that makes it unique to you and definitely should NOT be changed or replaced? ~ Sadly nothing really strikes my eye, but if you know me that's just how I am a stickler for details and such. 3) Is the information that you want about PKI readily available on the site, and so you don't have to spend more than a minute searching for it? ~For the most part, yes. Just the yearly updates need to be made and I know how that goes since I need to do the same with PkdPlace 4) How would you change the layout of PKIC to improve the look and feel? ~Brighter, some more color, not so totally "blocky"? 5) Is the front page of PKIC eye-catching? Would a new user want to explore more after seeing it? ~ 6) If there were one big thing abut the look and feel or layout of PKIC that I could change if I were a staff member, what would it be? ~Make it more of a Kings Island website, right now I get the feeling that it's a IJST website with lacking information on that one ride... ~I hope that helps at all
  18. ^ well hopefully they will fixed some of the glitches for PKD's version since lessons learned at PKI.
  19. Just thinking since it seems Kings Dominion likes to compare itself to other parks like Disney, how would this ride compare against some Disney coaster such as Big Thunder Mt Railroad, Matterhorn, Etc...? Since it seems that's the type of direction they are wanting to head to, how are they doing so far?
  20. ^I think I come down and see enough considering I live and go to school in Richmond now, VCU! Different people, yes. Ghetto, no. Sure I'd say Richmond isn't the greatest city on earth, but it's deffinately not the worst.
  21. I don't even think we live in the same Virginia let alone go to the same Kings Dominion... Sure any crowd will have selective "misfits" but this by no means makes all of Virginia ghetto. I know for a fact that Northern Virginia (where I'm from) is a very nice area, so pkd804 must come from one of the not so great areas (aka the 804 area?)
  22. lol, thanks We're working on getting everything covered and hopefully it will all be by the end of the year.
  23. I'd agree that it has been more orginized in that aspect. But (this coming from someone who has never been to PKI and looks at pictures of the park to try to see what it's like) When looking at the rides, such as roller coasters, they seem all thrown together and you have to flip through the pages trying to find pictures you are looking for. So if it could be seperated by rides as well as by events that would be a great improvement IMO.
  24. I'm not scared of Ferris Wheels, I'll just say I don't feel right at home while on one. Something to do with behing high up and not securly strapped in...
  25. Well I just got an email from the public relations manager to help clarify the name of PKD's Italian Job.... Turns out it's something different than even the two names put up on the display at the entrance of the park... Soo... Stunt Track: NO Street Chase: NO Stunt Coaster: Sure why not...? Am I allowed to be confused at this point?
