^you should know that is not absolute fact yet. Since whoever put the display together put two different names on it. One of Stunt Track, and the other of Street Chase. Typical KD behavior and still no press release, talk about unorginized or poor management...

Sounds like a lot of fun stuff to look forward to in 2006 at KD Anyway since we are getting this ride as well (most likely a clone ) is the ride smooth with good banking on the turns that rolls at the center of the car, much like a heartline roll and I guess the best examples of that are newer Intamin coasters... And I've just heard the seats suck, just wondering how true that is?

Flash on the front page
Firefall Pkd replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Hmmm, I like it but I think I may have found a problem. The flash movie covers up the navigation menu when it expands, I don't know if this is just with my browser (Avant Browser) or this is just something that flash files do to menus like this... -
What kind of videos do you want to see?
Firefall Pkd replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Quality music videos would be nice, either of specific rides, or the general park, w/e. -
I have a general question; How much did IJST cost to build? and then Was it worth this cost?

Paramount's Kings Dominion
Firefall Pkd replied to PKD4LIFE's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It may be true that Paramount tends to only install two of each concept. But PKD4LIFE, you have to remember in your little list that Paramount didn't own the parks when many of the things you listed were built making it a mis-leading and false list. (really, do your research before you post). I just want to make a comment about PKD and the possibility of the IJST, I pray that it not be true. I've been reading the "your experiances on IJST" thread closely and it just sounds like a 90% let-down of a $29million investment. Not only that but if it did come to PKD, the theme would be ruined and disfunctional by year-2. Face it PKD and other Paramount Parks just can't deal with the theme up-keep, espically PKD. If they want to continue to make this work they need a new department in every park that just deals with keeping the themed rides up to par. Otherwise its just a wast of millions where it could have gone to a thrill ride which would draw people and give them that lasting impression. -
^If you took it again when they did it with more concepts you would know that the MTV part of the concept was thrown out and it's simple Soundwave. Guess they got too many comments like garbage. I totally agree that MTV would kill the ride, but even with that part gone and it just Soundwave it's still a bad idea. I still think FoF needs an upgrade, but keep it within its present theme. They should really go Space Mountain with it like Disneyland is doing, adding new lighting effects, cleaning it up a bit. It just needs some TLC (and I'm nearly sure PKD's is probably more in need of it than your guys).

^Honestly, how many people do you think stop and read signs like those?

Paramount's Kings Dominion

Don't forget to mention that PKD hasn't had their waterpark upgraded yet like PKI has. Of course PKI's should be better. The old portion of Waterworks is on its way out, only two of the 4 slide complexes in the old section were open. Not to mention they have closed the old kiddie area compleatly and are getting ready to tear it up. This much demolition, this early? Usually they don't even start this kind of stuff till late August... -
I was at Pkd today and noticed they had added some very nice benches to the smoking sections. As of today more people were using the smoking sections but not everyone, then again there was a very light crowd today.
-
That is totally understandable, but the park isn't telling the smoker they can't smoke, they're saying they can't smoke anywhere they want. If that sounds like too much of a hassel, then they should ask themselves if it's really worth it to smoke?
-
^Same holds true with PKD, and I'm sure the other Paramount Parks as well. It's a shame cause personally I can't stand the smell, so why should someone like myself have to smell it? Further up there was mention of salt and being bad for health, both smoking and sodium may be bad for you but at least sodium doesn't affect those around you

^I like when people list parks in an order when they haven't even been to them all... (flightoffear1996 & PKD4LIFE) -
Paramount's Kings Dominion

Not coming to any conclusions, since I have yet to visit PKI.... But technically doesn't it really depend on personal preferance which park comes out on top...? Again not saying that PKI isn't bad or anything. -

I agree. PKD4LIFE... Rebel Yell goes 55mph, you think a offical park site is going to tell the truth over a database? That's like believing everything the Travel Channel says about Universal, Disney, or Cedar Point...... lies. And "I suggest you shoud that big dam hole in your mouth!" cause you're giving PKD and all fans of PKD a bad name. I was to state I have no affiliation with PKD4LIFE and anything he may say... -
Paramount's Kings Dominion
Firefall Pkd replied to PKD4LIFE's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^though that may be true, from the pictures Racer does look nicer, as in it has a nice enterance sign and waiting line that is probably properly lit. The enterance on Rebel Yell I would say looks like crap. Not to mention paint is flaking everywhere, and it's just dirty alot. Sad to say, PKD could do much better... and it's not like anything they need to do costs that much anyway. -
Construction on Flight Commander Site
Firefall Pkd replied to specialk141's topic in Coming Attractions
Yeah, PKD did that back in 2003 I think. It's still there, though I don't think its very popular. I can't think of a time when I've seen more than 3 people in front of it (including the ones running the game). But anyway, the EuroDome thing looks really cool. And by the way Paramount Parks go in trends with these sort of things I wouldn't doubt that's what PKD removed their EuroBungy for. -
It's not really working at PKD as of yet, so far we have few signs indicating that it is a non-smoking park and the announcements at the front gate are breif. So I have alil fun with this and just cough as loudly as I can as I pass the people, then if they say anything I'm glad to point out the nearest designated smoking area. Watch Out Though! Some smokers are evil and will get very angry and start yelling Then I laugh at them and say it's their health I see this year as being very fun with being able to torture people like this, torture might be a strong word but you get the idea.

I think it's great, before I saw it I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised how much I liked it actually. The only thing I might change is to make it longer, it seemed rather short.

^ Now see that artwork features Avril Livine (sp?) and that is the absolute LAST THING I would EVER want to be listening to while riding such a good coaster like FoF. It would disorient me and then I would puke all over the place
-
That may be true in one sence, but this time after looking at the concept art of the ride (and this one I am 100% sure about unlike that Supersonic thing we had CombatStupendous89) But you can clearly see it is the fof building exterior modified. The inside waiting line will still have the spaceship but the top will be modified with a giant screen for music videos and other things. Also the picture they had of the inside of the ride showed the turn around right after the 3rd inversion with a newly added tower thing with speakers and lights on it. I still don't want this to happen, but somthing will eventually
-
I think if they do re-theme the FoFs... I think they should find a movie as close to the alien theme as much as possible. HEY! War of the Worlds is coming out this summer, and it's also a Paramount movie, and it has aliens, and its close to the fof theme already, and they should just use that, and that was a mojor over-use of "and". I mean everyone, or at these alot that I know, are all looking forward to this movie so it has to be good and could make an excelent use of theming for this ride which could still retain much of its original glory. As for the Supersonic thing, yeah I think that would be a cool ride to get. Although if you really look at the concept art it's not a flying coaster at all so I have no idea why they are using the Stealth art. Probably just because they are both Vekoma, they're the only ones who would make a tilting coaster as of right now. As much as I don't really care to see it, I can really see this Adams Family being stuck right where our Blue Ridge Tollway antique cars are right now
-
It's not so much of how tall the tower really is; it's the height/length of the drop that counts in the end. PKD's is 272 feet reaching 72mph PKI's is 264 feet reaching 67mph ^ that is where the difference is and which really makes PKD's in the ride experience sense taller. Whoever is going to argue that a taller structure but shorter ride is better has a strange thinking pattern
-
You know what it could be? Since they did open the same year and they're both Paramount Parks they just don't care about each other (in a nice way) in the sence that they can both say that it is the first coaster to use that technology. It's just that PKI may boast about it much more than PKD does cause PKD does the whole boasting about having more launch coasters than anyone else.
-
They removed the MTV part of the ride and it is just Soundwave, the rock and roll coaster. It will play current (and I guess the best) rock and roll music, so Scooby Doo you don't have to worry about that Hippity Hoppity Crappity music coming to any fof ride This is strictly from observation and after readying nearly all of this topic: it seems to me that alot of people think that PKI will add this coaster, like next year. What happened to IJST? It's not even open yet, have people already forgotten about it? I really don't see somthing like this so soon right after IJST since they are both highly themed roller coasters.
