  1. I don't know if it really means anything, but according to the article I read, they've already had the groundbreaking ceremony.
  2. Thats simialar to my thoughts when I first read the story. I mean, what would they do with a 500 to 700 room hotel in Wheeling? I doubt it would have much effect on Camden park. I think that Wheeling is a little to far away to effect it. I could be wrong, but, thats a lot of money in gas...
  3. WHEELING- Wild rides and water parks are coming to the Wheeling area, along with about 1,000 new jobs. The first phase of the 100 acre Wild Escape Theme Park could open as early as next July, but that timetable is fairly optimistic given the amount of work that has to be done, Ohio County officials said. The park is being developed in nearby Dallas by Crystal Mountain LLC of Omaha Neb., said Greg Stewart with the Ohio County Development Authority. "They came to us because of Cabela's," he said. Cabela's is a Nebraska based company and the two share the same lawyer Stewart said. Cabela's operates a store and distribution center near Wheeling and the theme park is to be built on land near the store. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday after members of the authority agreed to move forward on a $200 million development agreement. The park would include thrill rides, and indoor and outdoor water park, ongoing entertainment and retail opportunities, said Ohio County Commission President David Sims. The indoor would be open year-round and is estimated to be bigger than the Mall of America complex in Bloomington, Minn., Commissioner Randy Wharton said. A 500 to 700 room hotel also is planned. Officials hope the park will rival that of Kennywood Park, which began business in 1898 as a trolley park in West Mifflin, Pa., and evolved into the Pittsburgh area's leading amusement park. Well, I think this is good news for West Virginia, even though it is still pretty far away from me. I would've just copied and pasted the story from the Charelston Gazette's website, but you have to be a member to get into the 14 day archive. Anyways, what do you guys think of this?
  4. Dear God, I love the smell of the chain grease.
  5. Maybe you could remove the loop, but I would not take out the helixes. Thats a Beast thing.
  6. That's exactly what I was thinking.
  7. I already have designs for that on my computer. Of course it is my own design, but it rocks! The tallest, fastest, longest wooden rollercoaster on the planet! Not only is it the second wood coaster with a loop, but the first with a corkscrew! It also honors the original with two lift hills! Thank you Uncle Henry! Is it in No Limits? I'd like to see that.
  8. Yea, I'll ride it.
  9. I can't wait for The GrandSon of Beast... But seriously, I hope they don't dismantle this coaster. Its unique, and fun if you know what to expect. While standing in line for SoB earlier this year, I pointed out to my friend some faces of dissapointment on the returning passengers. We then boarded the coaster, and got a rough, but still enjoyable ride.
  10. It's good to have the site back up.
  11. I rode SoB the other day, and my legs were very uncomfortable. I only 5'7" I had to bend my legs in a weird position to get the bar to come down too.
  12. The park has a mix of everything. It is also the closest major amuesment/theme park to my house. I've been coming to this park for years, and it seems to get better.
  13. 3 here. So I was nowhere near that. Although a couple of my friends rode it 9 times on Thursday.
  14. Ring Toss, Peach Basket, and I went to the SkeeBall arcade and wasted a lot of money and came home with some crap prizes. But, I enjoy wasting my money on games. As a child I used to have a serious addiction to those claw machine things. I kinda still do, and when i saw the giant claw machines in the park, well I had to try one...2 dollars almost well spent. And If you are wondering if you may have seen me at the park, I was wearing a white Hard Rock Cafe Chicago shirt.
  15. Anyone know what was going on on the roads back by The Beast yesterday(June 8th). There were a lot people with cameras walking around and waving at us as we went by.
  16. So Cedar Fair is buying the parks. Okay.
  17. After an absence from PKIC by being grounded, I'm back. I doubt anyone noticed I was gone though. After a year with no PKI trips, I finnaly got one. My friend invited me to go with him since in his opinion, I am a coaster enthusiest, which, yea I am. So anyways, the tickets were paid for by his mom, and i was happy. We arrived at the park around 10:30ish and embarked for The Beast. There was no line pretty much, so my friend and I headed for the back seat, something I had never done before. Wow. Best Beast ride ever. It was running fast too, maybe there was dew on the track, but, it was a great ride. We got right back in line, and sat in the front, which I have never done before, great ride. We got back in line again, and did the back seat again, awesome. But we were stopped at the top of the hill for about 10 seconds, o well. By this time we lost the other members of our group, so, we just said screw it and went for Vortex. I was a great ride also. After that, we did Flight of Fear, and it too was a great ride. Although, I could see more than I remember seeing in the building. The Racer was next, and we rode it twice since our line was empty when we got back to the station. SOB was our next ride. It was rough, but I still managed to enjoy it. We then went and got lunch, which, man are food prices exspensive...Oh well. I made myself a salad off the condiment bar at Feathus. Man, I'm cheap... Now, Top Gun had a line much longer than i expected. We only waited five minutes, but normally, there is a couple empty spots in the line, and it was full. So we only got to ride it once. I enjoyed it. After Top Gun, we went to ride the "Fairly Odd Coaster". The Beastie was a lot better name, anyways. We walked back towards Tomb Raider and got in line. It was okay... Since we were there, we got in line again for The Beast, and rode back seat once again. The 3 morning rides were better, but i still enjoyed it very much. There were a lot of people walking around the mantainence roads with cameras a stuff, anybody know what was going on? IJ:ST was open now, so we got in line. The line looked kinda long, but, I had never road it before, and I wanted to see if it was as short as people said it was. When we were crossing the bride over the track, it broke down. A few people left, but not me. The got it testing again, and it broke down, again. So a lot of people left, but not me. We were now in the front of the line pretty much, and they got it working. Although it was a short ride, and the special effects werent working, I still enjoyed it. We only had about an hour before we were leaving at six, so we got in line for Vortex. Us, and the people behind us stayed on the coaster since there was nobody in our specific line. It was nice. I went and spent the rest of my money on games i couldnt win. I was fun. It was now time to leave, so we did. On the way back, I was happy to get White Castle And, after ordering a Crave Case while in Chicago on a school trip, I new only to get a few burgers. This was a great PKI trip and I hope to make it back soon.
  18. So, we must have been in line for IJ:ST at the same time then, or it broke dowm multiple times that day other than when I was in line.
  19. After visiting Kings Island yesterday, I would say Tomb Raider. I remember it before as having alot more flip you around, and less hanging you upside down. It, IMO, is still a decent ride, just not my favorite.
  20. Wonderful pictures as always.
  21. For some reason, the Huss website never works for me...
  22. I've ridden it, and its pretty intense. There also is a lot of warnings about not to ride if you have a medical condition.
  23. I went to Disney a couple years ago. We stayed at the Wilderness Cabins for 9 days and did just about everything. If you ever go to Disney for like more than a day, get a Passporter. http://passporter.com/ Anyways, while at the show Fantasmic, somebody started the wave with we guessed around 10,000 people in the stadium. It was great.
  24. It is a big toss up between Gemini and Raptor for me. I have only been to CP once, but loved it. I rode most of the coasters, and hated Mean Streak. TTD and MF were great, but I still like Gemini and Raptor better. And, because I enjoy ignoring my own safety, I did high-five a guy on Gemini. It was pretty fun.
