  1. I think the only place I've gotten a talking to for snapping was at Indiana Beach. And there's plenty of room in that picture for a que just think WindSeeker style.
  2. 1. Since when do Flying Scooters get really long que lines? 2. These rides can be assembled in less than a week. 3. Banshee hasn't even begun testing yet. Hell it hasn't even received it's third train yet and I'm confident it will be ready for opening day. 4. I do not believe we are getting a set of flyers just stating that if the park wanted to they could be ready in less than a month.
  3. And on the issue of under age kids smoking. Kings Island is not a babysitter despite the amount of parents who seem to think it is. They are also not law enforcement. I do not in anyway approve of underage smoking. Whenever someone asks to bum a cigarette off of me I always ask to see their ID. =]
  4. I too am a smoker and I am one of those who follow the rules as well. Anyone who's been to a park with me recently knows I don't smoke outside of the designated areas. And to the person who said you can just go to your car whenever you need to smoke. What about the times during Haunt when you're not aloud to leave and then return? I do think Kings Island should rethink their current setup for smoking areas but I do not believe an outright ban on smoking in the park would do them any good. I also agree they should enforce the designated smoking areas a little bit better as well. Maybe they could advertise them a bit more for the people who don't know exactly where they are located. The two parks I've visited that have the best smoking areas are Six Flags Great Adventure and Holiday World. Most if not all of them are off the beaten path and the one closest to El Toro is just a nice area to sit and enjoy the view.
  5. Knoebels isn't exactly known for its marketing. It is not a destination park. Knoebels is a family park and I'm sure they are very happy with that status. Of course this could all just be one big diversion.
  6. This is the same thing that I've always heard. And I've seen it practiced quite often.
  7. It's gravel you can see a dump truck dumping it out in these two photos.
  8. Yes but in your initial post you made it seem as if they needed to be placed before the ride began testing.
  9. I just made the point because them getting their positions probably plays little to no role in when the initial testing begins.
  10. I didn't know they hired ride ops for the testings when a new ride is built. I was pretty sure maintenance and the park over saw the initial testing of the ride.
  11. Here's mine! I'd like to reach $2000. I'm a long way from that. https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/zachary-nicholson/screamforakidagain
  12. Personally I can't stand Ice Cream. I don't eat Ice Cream or cake. If the cake is made completely out of chocolate and I'm having a good day I might eat it. That's the only exception. If they were to put a set of Flying Scooters in that circle in Action Zone I think Flying Sprites would be a fitting name.
  13. They are hardly right up the road from one another. I wouldn't even consider them to be in the same market area.
  14. Looks like more people need those pacifiers.
  15. Some people who scream on some of the rides though could use a pacifier.
  16. It looks like they are pouring concrete behind the Banshee station.
  17. I remember a time when a certain poster here got to ride Manta in it's maiden year, and told everyone they should ride it. It took me way to long to find this. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/18710-florida-ptr-5-parks-june19th-june-29th-part-2/?hl=unrealsk8er#entry316680
  18. I feel like a lot of coaster enthusiasts just care about how many times they can ride something in a day instead of enjoying the experience. I also feel like society as a whole has become insensitive towards others who may have some sort of medical condition. I was working last night and saw two moms fighting because one of them didn't like the fact that the other mother's autistic child was banging on a box that was in the cart. She seriously told the other mom that she should have left the child at home. Sorry to rant.
  19. I always bring a back pack with me and I've never had any problems. If I have to rent a locker I will do so I have no problem with that. And for the people saying there is no reason anyone should have to bring a bag in there are quite a few reasons why someone would. I carry mine at haunt the most because of the difference in temperature from day to night. I'm anemic so my body temperature fluctuates quite a bit. I always keep a hoodie in my bag even if its 90 degrees outside. This is also the reason why I wear my beanie all year long. And why I wear a bandana over my face when riding in the cold. You may not need to bring a bag into the park but for others it can be essential.
  20. Speaking of contacts I lost a pair to Top Thrill Dragster's front row a few years ago. This is why I always bring extra now.
  21. If I remember correctly Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park has a camera for the barrel roll out of the station.
