I'm helping run and work the haunted house at Hillebrand, obviously it cant be to scary because its mostly for little kids, but I need some creepy ideas if anyones got any. If anyone has family or knows anyone who is staying at Hillebrand, make sure you check it out, its a really cool event.. haunted house is on the first floor, story telling and picture taking(a special set, is set up for pics) third floor is all different stuff, pumpkin painting, getting a bag of candy, they'll have a movie playing, they'll have a story where they involve you to feel things, it truely is a cool event. We're going to up the scare level for the haunted house, because people were only saying the ending was the best(a girl distracts then then I pop up the casket lid and hopped out) so thats why they want me to help alot with the haunt this year.

oh okay thanks, the actor with his face covered in blood in Maze of Madness(if you've ever seen the guy you know who I'm talking about) does a pretty sick and realistic job with it(im not sure if its the same as the fake blood they use for props, I think it is?) Well anyways, thanks hauntguy!

Yeah the line was a mess for it, people kept cutting, sometimes not even on purpose Edit: Does anyone know KI's recipe for fake blood?

I voted mental institution because it's the easiest to do, and is the most frightening IMO. Having good actors is very important for this kind though, if you don't have that, go with dungeon because it has a nice scenery, fairly good price, doesn't need the best acting if you have some really creppy music playing, probalby overall funner to do and to work on. The Sleepy Hollow theme IMO is overused and very boring. There's only so much you can do with cutting peoples heads off. Like someone else said, the idea of a town in the woods is a very creppy feeling, but my guess is your haunt is all in doors so obviously you can't really pull that off. Whatever you go with, good luck!

"Just some other info that hasn't been posted yet. Cicus of Horrors this year is inside the old enchanted theater building. For those who don't know where that is its an old theater that is unused now located behind Scooby Doo's Haunted Castle. Its a much better location for it than the Festhaus where it was crammed into the east corner of the building. Cowboy Carnage, new for this year, is located in rivertown in the old western styled building located across from the Wild Thornberrys. I'm not sure what the building was used for in years past, but as long as I've been at the park, its just been storage and a games department office.Just doing a quick walkthrough, it is all the old massacre manor stuff and it seems a little short. ( I'm a security officer at the park and we get a little bored... and loving haunts, do you blame me for sneaking in the buildings? hehe) All the rest of the haunts are coming up quite nicely, the trail and asylum are almost ready to go and will be a blast this year once again! Headless hollow is under construction this week so it will be ready very soon. " taken from a guy named Randy

Dry Run Is September 28 2006 yeah, how do you get tickets for it? Dry run is not open to the general public. You have to get a ticket thought a ki employee or the media. Dry run day is for the media to come thought and report on the mazes. the only thing open are hte mazes, no rides. Who determines who is media? Noah(I forget his last name) has his own review site but he's not really apart of media in anyway nor is he really interacted with many haunts all, yet he gets into the dry run every year with a "media" pass.

oh some lady that worked there told me they took it out. I forget the reasoning though, I think someone gurt an actor that was inside the tunnel or maybe it was really close to that fire I really just don't remember.

I think I just died alittle inside. haha

Maureen didn't clarify, but my guess is they will be adding alot of that haunt to another or something, and it will be dark. All she said is it will be dark, I replied and asked her what she meant, she said it won't be open. So take that for what its worth Idk?
-
so it was in Paramount theater? Will that place receive a name change this year?
-
Speaking of the Monorail is the one at Jungle Jim's ever going to open? I remeber them talking about that for years now, my guess is budget ran short? The stuff is still there so maybe they are just waiting.

Price Cuts Fail To Aid Some Cedar Fair Parks
StXsteven replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
It doesn't matter if they had a limited budget for it, most people don't know that, they still advertised it as a very huge thing, so you would think a huge new crowd would of came to check it out. It wasn't one new ride, it was a whole new themed area and advertised very much on television. And your examples explain everything fine, but according to many posters on here in various posts, the attendance didn't increase much. -
That's why I posted that, because I was confused as well. I e-mailed her back, I'll hopefully get a response by tonight. It must be a typo because I doubt it's coming back. Edit: Update: She said it will not be open, but didn't explain why she said it will be dark. That's good enough for me I guess

Wow, I'm alittle excited, read this "The Circus of Horrors will be moving locations, yes. Waste Land will not be opening. Holiday Horrors will be. The Curse of the Crypt will be dark. I'll have all of the complete info by the end of the week. Woohoo!! Maureen Kaiser, APR Paramount's Kings Island Marketing Communications 513.754.5802"

Price Cuts Fail To Aid Some Cedar Fair Parks

Don't say parks like Busch Garden learned that people like theme parks better, because it didn't learn that, it's what kind of park itr was and is from the beginning. PKI has added alot of Theme Rides in the past couple of years, so yes, maybe they are learning. The fact that PKI did a huge makeover on the kid-park now Nick Universe, ad the amount of people who came this year didn't rise much at all should make you think. Your only seeing it from your side, big rides hurt a park, little rides help it, when your ignoring what happened with NU. I think the reason Cedar Parks numbers arn't larger because it's a far ride to nowhere, nothings around, just farmland. At least from the route from Cincinnati the last hour of driving is all just farmland. Maybe there is city life in a different direction within 30 minutes, I don't know. Kings Island is surrounded by citys. But hey, just my opinion. -
I know most of this has already been fgured out, but I thought I'd just lay it out.. "The Asylum (formerly Maze of Madness) will be in its usual location. There will be no white tent maze, but we will have a brand new maze in Rivertown called Cowboy Carnage. It is going to be fantastic!! Massacre Manor is the former Fear Street. It will be in the same location and the Scrambler will not be operating." Maureen Kaiser sent that to me, so we can believe that for sure, The Asylum will NOT be under the tower. I know we've sad it before but there was still some dissagreement. I sent her the e-mail like 2 weeks ago but she was out of the office, and finally got to respond. I asked her about the rest, I should get a response shortly.

As of now, he will be working in the first Scene of Cowboy Carnage so after he scares the out of you, say hey haunt guy its ____ and if its him he'll most likely say hey haha, I don't know there rules but I don't think he will be able to stop and talk long, plus I'm sure its very dark in there, it would be very hard for him to figure out who you are. Just a word of advice, so you don't get offended. I'm sure Hauntguy will talk to you about it when he gets on. Edit: He beat me to it I didn't think he'd be online haha.

That bunny picture looks pretty sweet, I aso think the bunny from Donnie Darko is pretty creepy. PKI is good with theming when they try, so I think they can pull off Holiday Horror but thats just IMO. I e-mailed PKI about the asylum deal, haven't gotten a response yet. Some of you claim its been moved back to ts FoF building, so what is the point of the name change? Has it been revamped? They usually only change a name if its been moved or revamped..
-
Is Massacre manor in the same location as House of Darkness and R.L. Stine's haunt were? If no, where is it located now? If yes, I thought KI said they wanted to keep the scrambler open this year, or something like that?

Although Scooby is overly bright now, I still think they could pull off a haunted ride in there. After the little children leave, click a button and have cloth comedown to cover up the Scooby Scenes so its pitch black in there, and I think it could easily be scary. But will it happen? No haha.
