i liked winterfest 05. could have been more with the train.... needed to be cheaper and personally the only thing i liked about the beach's setup was that they had ice skating but id rather skate on the ki fountains.... much cooler than that tiny crowded rink. oh and i think they tried to run the tiny coaster (then top cats taxi jam, now little bill's gigglecoaster). *sigh* that video makes me miss our old carousel organ even more *cries in mourning, shaking angry fist at cd*

perfect opportunity to point to the track pieces and say 'ever seen that final destination movie? well....times 100' and i swear, pre-DB announcement, i was talking to about the millionth person to ask me 'where is that new ride that they're opening next week?'.....and when she asked me, i just pointed to the pieces and said 'there'. she replied 'wow theyre behind arent they?'........another said 'man you must have one fast construction crew'........same general idea....with pieces in plain sight and having already been pointed out by me.....'what kind of ride is it? a log flume *points to 'kiddie pool'*?' oh and this one is a bit second-hand but i was talking to a train employee who told me he often gets 'does this ride have a/many loop/s?' as a joke from playful smart guests and usually responds 'oh yeah, most in the park' or something to that effect. but one dad got on the back row of the train with his little 6 year old kid and asked 'does this have a loop?'...so he answered 'yeah, it blasts off with rocket boosters around the water park and hits a loop right before the station'......the guy said 'oh'....GOT OFF AND WALKED AWAY... one from today at the top of the Eiffel Tower. i was talking to a guest about the fireworks, where the best places were to see them, and she also asked if the parking lot was good..... so i said, "up here, down there between this and the carousel, the parking lot is definitely good, Action Zone is nice around Drop Tower, i know, but coney mall is not really that great because you might have to watch through trees." she said okay and walked away....came back about 2 minutes later and asked 'by coney, did you mean the parking lot?'................................yes......................................... ..i said later to someone about this "yeah, go to the coney parking lot.....its only about a half hour, 45 minute drive..."

um...i hope that wasnt me n.n; i would not be surprised if it was though (sorry to super repost i am just doing things as i find them *just found this thread after being told about it*)
-
oh no no no my friend, you have not heard it all...my favorite is when they know their facts but still pick the wrong coaster.... i heard this group on top of the eiffel talking about 'The Beast is the worlds longest wooden coaster in the world, it goes underground' etc etc like a couple of pros....i almost smiled when i heard 'thats it, the blue and orange one' *screech of breaks and crash* o.o; i think i lost all faith in humanity that day

oh yes....especially with the removal of the SoB loop. i have heard about 50 different ways of dying that people heard happened, hence the removal, including: train stuck at top of loop and drunk person fell out, person somehow fell from lift hill on accident (liked the train bucked him or something ), the ever-popular derailment.... and god if i hear one more guest ask if they're taking out The Vortex 'next year' (insert year there, ive heard it for 10) im quitting......

California's Great America advice?
PKIPoodle posted a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
any advice for my trip to California's Great America (i think thats what it's called now or was called and i didnt know....the old PGA) ? like where is good to eat (especially that part heh) or what rides i HAVE to ride? my usual park is Kings Island where i work (I'm not ready for vacation to end ) so is anything better there compared to KI? please respond asap. -
not sure this is in the right section, but.... im planning to go to Great America, out in California.... anyone have any suggestions? rides? food? (rides my mom can go on with a bad back? she only rides Viking Fury and the ride formerly known as Top Gun at Kings Island, as far as 'thrill rides' go) everybody had GREAT suggestions for Cedar Point last summer so i figured i would ask again...
-
can you repost it here? *cried when they didnt put maestro up for halloween this year*
-
about the sign, im not sure but it may have something to do with a big storm that hit the park last friday, because it was on when i walked in, then big storm during shift, then blank sign when i walked out after work. but *shrug* i could be wrong and probably am.

Sandusky Area Restaurants?
PKIPoodle replied to PKIPoodle's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thank you very much, ill have to check out that pizza place. and the places in-park you mentioned should give me somewhere to go during the "severe storms" they're calling for (id wait to go usually buuuut.....i dont have a choice, after today its back to work at KI lol) -
could be in the wrong section, but....does anyone know any good restaurants around Cedar Point? n.n; and maybe a good place for a bite in the park?

ooh that weather sounds-....like we're not in ohio anymore xD seems like almost every opening day, im standing in line saying 'okay, next year, ill REMEMBER the gloves'. that week of high 70's got my hopes up then these last 2 weekends quickly smashed those hopes into tiny tiny bits. so im staying neutral and praying to the merciful coaster gods but here's hoping the weathermen are RIGHT about that n.n

yeah, little things first. i think im going to miss paramount story more than the sign, though. and yeah i hope its not that same tall rectangle logo that ive seen all over. it should at least be a little more park-specific than that. (or at least better looking, i think that logo is boring)
-
yes the big mountain is missing, but for some odd reason, when i went to the returners thing, i made a point to check and see (probably out of boredom) if the little columns (pillars, thingys......whatever) by the fountains were still there with those little round discs at the top with the peak and stars. they were. but getting rid of those would take what, a few strong men? so thats not saying much. i just hope Paramount Story still exists this season so i can take pictures (yey duck soup!)
-
wow.....its so weird that i dont remember any other cars but the black older car....and its not the Godfather i dont think. its "The Untouchables". never heard that KITT was there, but my friends tell me that the mirth mobile was there, guess i didnt go to PS that much when it was there. i hope they dont get rid of them..at least not immediately. all i can think of thats there is the model of the Enterprise, the chariot from Cleopatra, i think there's another chariot from The Ten Commandments, an example of a gravestone from the Addams Family, the idol from Indiana Jones, the cage from The Golden Child, and one i just found this year (even though i knew it was there, i didnt know it was this)...the bus stop bench from Forrest Gump (if you're looking at the big waterfall from the fence, its right behind you with a small plaque to the right) i think thats all of em in Paramount Story...but as always, i feel like im missing one, maybe on the left as you walk in the big gates

i dont know about a week before the SOB incident, cuz i cant even remember what day that happened, and probably couldnt remember the week before (they all tend to run together anymore....) i just know i was working in Nick that day, and as far as i remember, those seemed fine. but after i got off and came back to ride stuff, the ones i rode seemed all right to me. i just know i was in line for school of rock when i heard about it. (true that either the next day or a couple days later a friend of mine said her shoulder was killing her after riding The Beast...so maybe there is something to what you're saying *shrug*) (edit): true also that i only rode little stuff i think, thats what i usually do after a shift. so i dont know about the coasters, really.
-
yeah i thought that was the direction they were going in.....parent and kid. but basicly the orbiters and biplanes were the same ride, just set up different. cuz at the moment blue's skidoo goes up and down automaticly (even though some of those kids give those buttons quite a workout and put their whole body weight into pressing it xD)
-
ok most (if not all but FC, Tiques, PT, Smurfs, and the Eagles) of those wee way before my time. haha so i would love to see them back up and running (for The Bat, emphasis on RUNNING lol) but could somebody tell me exactly what WAS gulliver's tubs? ive seen the occasional picture of some of the theming but never the ride itself. and yeah from the pictures ive seen and my trip to SFKK, i'd say PKI's SkyLab was bigger than SFKK's (but what at Kings Island isnt bigger [and better] than kingdom's? lol) but yeah i miss the Eagles, Tiques, Smurfs, Phantom Theatre, and Kenton Cove's Keelboat Canal....and i dont remember my only ride on Flight Commander (other than i was little and too scared to have as much fun as i could have xD) oh and what was sunshine turnpike? *loves to hear about the classics that were gone before ridden*
-
nuh uh. Huck's Hotrods is Go Diego Go! i remember that from last season *proud to remember anything*.... cuz Huck's Hotrods was the little cars with the canopy over them (or the Hampton cars as you said). Nick Jr. Drivers used to be the Fender Bender 700 (or 1000 or somethin like that...but i'm positive that it was fender bender) oh and could somebody help my memory here? other than vehicles, what was the difference between the Biplanes and the Jet Orbiters? (i thought they were both the same type of ride, maybe im thinking of something other than the Orbiters)
-
yeah so far its a great area. i havent been back to dora's area "explorer corner" i think the sign says... but i saw one of the trains on the really long named ride (Azul), and it looked really good. and blue looks good too! i just hope they're not finished with theming the LazyTown SportaCopters. i mean 3 little cut-outs....nothing compared to the major theming most of the other rides have....it has to be the least themed ride in the area! they need to put more detail into the cutout of Sportacus's airship (the blue and white blimp shaped thing directly above blue's skidoo) cuz it looks almost nothing like the one in the show. and my friend and her family rode it and told me it still says stuff about pulling into HB Airport and "thanks for riding Yogi's Sky Tours"... i thought they would have handled that by now at least. oh well. I'm going to go and ride the new stuff saturday and/or sunday so maybe ill see if it's changed by then
-
sorry to double post but this is a "thing that has changed"...anybody know what happened to the car that was in paramount story?
-
Im not sure about the genres of the other two tv shows. I personally cant think of a good theming to go with the TV shows you mentioned. I couldnt even imagine a ride themed to that. Plus, isn't Nick U more for the smaller kids? Those shows are more for the kids 13+ -ish. yeah Nick U is sort of themed to smaller kids (not as small as HBL's audience was with the baba looeys buggies and stuff like that) but then you've got the new Avatar ride (i dont wanna KNOW the voban amount over there xD) which i dont think is really aimed toward smaller kids. as for the food at Oscars, yeah, what is it, around $3 ish for a powerade?! ill take a slice of cheese pizza and some chocolate milk for close to the same price, thank you. lol as for the SportaCopters, yeah i just realized that like sunday or monday when someone asked why it said HB and Yogi's Sky Tours when it was Nick U and Lazytown SportaCopters... i imagine they'll change it eventually. (maybe they'll have Sportacus saying something.....*sigh* magnus.......) ^oh and there's your live-action show-themed ride (technicly i guess.... 3 out of like 9 aint bad xD) oh and as for music, yeah it is REALLY loud up front (relatively)...but on the same topic, im glad for the change in music in Nick U....i mean, if i had to hear "the bear went over the mountain" or "when the saints go marching in" or some of those other kiddie songs all day, i think i'd go insaneĀ®...."breakaway" "almost" "chariot" mixed in with "ned's declassified" "lazytown" and maybe even "go,diego,go" theme songs is MUCH more bearable.... oh and is the chicken dance at festhouse louder, or is it just REALLY pindrop quiet after about 8:15? i can hear it from Nick U every night (even the little horn intro before the accordions)...which is even weirder considering i thought they had quit doing that either last year or the year before wow that was long. i shut up much now.

yey i saw for myself. pink and green. and avatar looks AWESOME! I WANNA RIDE IT >.<

*a la miracle max's wife* LIAR! LIAR! LIAAAAR! xD ok sorry had to say that. not a liar, misinformed or something (so dont get mad at me *shiver*).... i saw a picture of a wanda-hair pink train. and the track is purple. so im going with CoastersRZ on this one and assuming they are pink and green. guess ill see 4 myself at training on sunday. for now? OFF TO GEOLOGY! WHEE!!!!
