  1. They should change the TOS to say that you need to be 13 years old in age and maturity level to post on here. If you know what's going on, good for you. As for me, I could care less, I can't keep the information from one park separate from the other any ways. If I gave out info, it would probably be for the wrong park any ways. Blab all you want though.
  2. ^I have been looking for pictures of the DC-3 that was the platform for the sky divers. Would you happen to have, or are you able to get pictures of the plane from your friends? The plane is now on static display in Canada. They do not have any pictures of it while Goodyear owned it that they can release, and Goodyear......well they sell tires. This is the plane, but it would be good to get some pictures to go with this info. Any would be greatly appreciated and accredited. Thanks. http://www.warbirdregistry.org/dc3registry/dak-6261.html
  3. Yep, so used to spelling it Laura though. (fixed it)
  4. It could be a curse..........we will have to ask Lara if she is around next year.
  5. ^I would laugh, but it took me 4 or 5 years to get on some of the mailing lists that I am on now. There is a park in Australia that took me 2 years to get on their mailing list, and it's the same news letter they mail out to the general public. In my line of work, that does not help me out at all.
  6. ^That's funny, because the only one from CF that I get on a regular bases is KI. Every thing else I seem to fall upon it in the wrong place before I receive it officially. At least they are not as bad as SF, they like to recall every thing and then re-send it without any changes.
  7. ^Interp, have you seen any press releases from CF before seeing it in the wrong place in the past 2 years? If so, then I need to have a discussion with a certain individual who lives near a lake. I have not been getting the regular news letters or press releases like I was before the sale. I guess I don't own enough shares.
  8. ^Big Bone Lick?........Uh sorry only have one.
  9. Speaking from experience, you do not want to try it........the shopping cart thing that is. I always wandered why I did not mind SOB.

Drop Zone has been dropping from the same spot since it opened. I would like to know where people get this info. Also, I have been on Giant Drop at Dreamworld. It is a magnificent ride, it does shake some when the coaster is running but not that bad. I would recommend it to any one that likes Drop Zone. One last thing, I would hate to hear all of the commotion if they took out Drop Zone and put in some thing else. It is one of the better drop rides in the country, that goes for the ride and the reliability.
  11. So they brought in a crane for a motherboard? Interesting. With all due respect to KI Man, chalk up the broken motherboard theory to a dippin dots guy's opinion, its just a rumor hes heard circulating around through the employees, he works in games. Tomb Raider had a bad board in the audio/show system earlier this summer which was why the show was not running for a while. The issue now is mechanical. Everyone's an expert. I miss the days of riding in the delorean to skyline... Let's play how many quotes we can build up! On a side note, or just a note, take your pick: The ride is sinking rumors have been going on longer than Magnum. I had heard that the lost river at Coney really took you under the Ohio river. One day it was closed and an employee was saying that there was a sink hole and the Ohio river was flooding the tunnel. And one more random topic. If we get a bunch of rides from GL, would that mean that we would have a lake in the middle of an island? Well just a thought, and keep building up the quote tree!!!!
  12. Simply put: Yes you can. http://www.rcdb.com/id988.htm This one seems to run o.k. without many maintenance issues, and don't tell me it is not a hyper woody because it is under 200ft. The ride is not that much different from SOB, as a matter of fact, SOB has a little smoother ride in the back in my opinion. The only major difference is it is an out and back and not a cluster of turns.
  13. [quote name='Elmer Fudd' date='Oct 26 2007, 12:02 PM' post='182783' USSR........ RIP: 1917-1991 Changing the name of a country is one thing, changing the form of government is another. The Iron curtain might be made of cloth now, but don't let the drapes impair your vision.
  14. Well I was not going to do it, but I opened my brief case and found the following cards. ACE- we know what that is. GOCC-Great Ohio FKF e.V.- Germany ECC- European Coaster Club RCCGB- Great Britain CEC- Canada WNYCC-Western New York IAAPA-International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions NAPHA-National Amusement Park Historical Association I also have one from Japan, the Netherlands (that one is for Denmark and Sweden also), Australia, Latten America (pretty much covers South America), and a few years ago there was one from the United Arab Emirates. But they are not in the brief case. I also found an unused golden ticket ballot from this year and last. I am sure that I am missing a club or two or ten, but I think you get the idea. The big thing with me and all the clubs is that I NEED info, and my biggest source for it are the clubs and the publications that go with them. They make my job so much easer, I can some times find part numbers for rides in some of the magazines, and that is always a lot faster than calling any manufacture. As far as the original post, you just used your knowledge against you. I am not saying that you were wrong, it's just the way you came across. That is the reason I posted the above, many people who have membership in any of the above, use it in the wrong manor. For example, if I am in line I do not care if you are an ACE member, I just want to have a conversation. Use your membership to your advantage, like to get into a park for a special event. Or like me, for information pertaining to my job. I too have had a bad experience in line with an ACE member, and just like every one else, it was with that 1 in 1,000 that give ACE a bad name. (If that guy is reading, 4 people did not die on The Bat after hitting an upright track support).
  15. There is an old saying: Take a piece of crap. Polish it up nice and shiney. What do you have in the end? A piece of crap. Maintenance could not have found the issues with SoB. Unless they were expected to a test on each verticle support everyday, which would have made the ride stay SBNO more than it already has. Now here is my full post. which basically states that the only way to prevent or predict an accident like this is in hind sight. I do not get the connection to your opinion of SOB, and my comments agree with the last part of your statement. If your going to break up some ones comments, then read the whole thing first. "Well the simple answer that one would give right after the accident happened would be no. After all how could some thing like this happen if you have a world class wood coaster maintenance crew (and I do mean that) and a world class design teem. In hind sight, the answer is yes, how could the cause be over looked. Well I go for the first answer, no. After all, we all know that hind sight is 20/20 that is why no one wears glasses on there a**. (Well unless your nick name is a** face and you wear glasses). I think the mechanical creed is very appropriate here: If it is mechanical and has moving parts of any kind, it WILL fail. The goal is to prevent it from doing so. You may not know how or where or when, but that is all calculated in a learning curve."
  16. What all of you have to remember is that if it is raining, there is a possibility for lightning or static in the air. It does not have to be raining either. Static can destroy a ride in milliseconds, and grounding does not always help. Static (lightning) will strike where ever it wants to, inside or outside. All it needs is a source, path, and destination. So my opinion on the matter is, I would rather wait an extra hour for a slight rain delay than two weeks for them to fix some thing that could have been avoided.
  17. where's the video..........Oh, right here!! http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=8122
  18. ^We are getting Deja Vu? (sorry had to)
  19. ^Like I do not work for the park, so I do not know or I can't say. Take your pick.
  20. Ha, I know that song. So XGatorHead eat your words. (referring to another thread, "Tomb Raider to be removed")
  21. Ooo, you're so close... "In a West End town, a dead end world The East End boys and West End girls" Thanks for playing... Close to what? And I did not know I was playing. I thought you were trying to quote "West End Girls" by The Pet Shop Boys. My bad if you weren't. I was wandering what you were talking about. It seemed that I had heard that before but I did not know where. I missed the 80's music wise, and I wish I had missed the 70's. The only part about 80's music that I know is that Madonna was a scank, Styx went in a direction that made no sense, and I still had no rhythm. I was quoting a poem my grandmother would recite to me, Tazba is old world Russian for coming of age I think. The language she spoke was not printed any more, kind of like slang. I was hoping that some one would ask me what I was talking about, and then I could throw my brain at them, but it back fired. Your quote would have made more sense any way. And Interpreter, I did ask my daughter and that back fired too. All she does now is play "West End Girls" when ever I get home. She even set it up on the computer when I log in it plays. So thank you for the lousy advice. On TR/TR though, there is no part that would cost more than the ride when they put it in. I have said it before and I will say it again. The only good Huss ride, is a Huss ride that has been modified with self fabricated parts. Give them time and the ride will be as good as new.
  22. Ooo, you're so close... "In a West End town, a dead end world The East End boys and West End girls" Thanks for playing... Close to what? And I did not know I was playing.
  23. ^Some times I get just a little too passionate about certain people. Also I do not recall if I have seen the video that you are talking about. Mr. Collins taught me one basic thing, do NOT go back to school for structural engineering. The man is some thing else. On a side note Gordon Bombay, I am hoping that my daughter did not use my points again for Image shack and I can get those pictures from the gathering of mustangs in Columbus up for you and UglySteve(?). My daughter is going to bankrupt me with all of her little internet doohickeys.
  24. Dvo Posted Today, 12:30 AM When did the meaning of "pleasant experience" change to "an event involving severe pain"? When did the meaning of opinion turn into fact. I THINK the ride is as good as it will get, and I think it is better without the loop. (I did love the loop though). It appears to be smoother. I think that a lot of people do not like SOB because they had a bad experience in the past. Or they have heard some one that did not like it.
  25. No I was not calling you Bozo, Pennywise maybe, but not Bozo. Also I can't ce far with out my glasses, so no I don't love it. (Unless I have my glasses on)
