  1. ^You would be surprised, do they have an exclusive contract with a certain co.? I travel all over the world, mainly in Europe, just to grease motors and adjust programs and fix sensors. The places I go to use me just because of the contract that they have with the manufacture. I am not saying that this is the case, but it can and does save money to have things like this written in an exclusive contract.
  2. Ah yes the good old days, no seat divider, a lap bar that only hit your legs when you went over hills. But most of all, the operator yelling at the top of the hill and on the turn around: For your safety and ours, please remain seated, do not stand. Thank you. Even though half the time you were not standing on purpose.
  3. How about the banking centers. Those tellers, even hand drawn, look better than their electronic counter part of today.
  4. ^Not those darn cranes again, and if you are going to sing, change the song. I am starting to have nightmares: cranes attack me with clown faces while I am on a roller coaster.
  5. I am not disputing any of their conclusions, just how they came to their conclusions. If you want to promote an industry, then do it. Don't give a couple of companies the spot light and the info they need to grow, and leave the small man out to flop on the beach. To change this, all they would have to do is change the definitions, resubmit the info. This would give some of the smaller parks the info they need to provide a better experience at their park for less than it would to gain this info on their own. Some of the better parks that I have been to, have attendance that is under 500,000 and a ride inventory under 20. To put a new ride in, some of this info would come in handy but they have to collect it on their own adding to the cost. After going to many small parks in the US and over seas, this report tends to sound bios to me.
  6. I think Disney....I mean the TEA is biased. They need to define "Amusement park" and "Theme park" then stick each park in a category and leave them there. If they did this, I think they would accomplish what they set out to do. That is promote the industry, what they are doing now is promoting just a couple of large companies that have multiple parks. The little guy does not have a chance and is rarely mentioned in any TEA reports that I receive during the year.
  7. ^Well Jimmy did spend more time around the cops than Peter, and my wife reminds me that Peter did get the girl every time the rain starts to fall in Spiderman 1. I would go with Jimmy too just to keep my wife off my back.
  8. ^More and More impressive every day Gordon. I think I will have to start calling you Jimmy Olson or Peter Parker.
  9. Donnie is giving us hints!!! Let me guess: The once beautiful international street will be turned dull as they move it to swan lake. Then that would pave the way for Action Zone to expand to in front of the tower.
  10. KI has apparently donated several ticket packages for Crime Stoppers Auction. There are both 2 and 4 ticket packages. http://auctions.readysetauction.com/greate...ri/catalog/view

^That is land near the river that is not usable by KI. That land also has a dirt access road for emergency vehicles, thus the term EASEMENT.
  12. ^^Yep, I ment to take the ' out of the corection part but the brain is opperating like a Commodore today. I will fix it.
  13. I don't know if any one here knows any one named tunnel's, but I do know that the S O B has NO tunnels on it.
  14. I think he had hair loss problems, and his car was symbolic of that, so he took it out on a car with a top.

^Your just jealous because you can't go snow skiing in the desert in 100* weather. Or they didn't build an island that looks like you, I say just get over it.
  16. ^Old age my friend, old age. Just wait 10 or 15 more years, when you have to check your corrections to make sure they are correct.
  17. You would think that an Interpreter could interpret when danger is coming, but if you need a robot then so be it. I would rather see 2001 a Space Odyssey, the park. HAL the ride would be cool, "I am sorry but I can not let you off of this ride. It does not concern me how scared you are". (Brown, it is a Millennium Falcon, sorry had to correct you )
  18. a. You been looking under peoples' clothes again? b. Perhaps they are wearing contacts...it depends.... A persons a&& is an Interpretive matter. For example: If an individual is wearing contacts, does it help them see where they are going? Or does it help them wee where they are going?
  19. I am so glad that you have had the opportunity to experience that part of the world. Your friend is right, about Aussies going to WnW and tourists going to the dry parks. WnW gives you such a mix of people from that area, that you don't have to go to a school over there to learn about the culture. It sounds like you are mixing in really well, and it should take you a couple of weeks to get rid of your Aussie accent when you get back. Be safe and fill us in on every thing else that you did over there when you get back.
  20. I have been waiting for this report. I knew that you would have a great time there. It doesn't look like that big of a crowd, I personally think it is better with a large crowd. The culture of the area stands out more. This is always a must stop when I am in Australia, and one of the better parks that I have been to. Surfrider is actually just under 90*, but only by a fraction, still love the ride because of the harness. (I think it is 89.87* but I do not have the paper work in front of me so I could be wrong). I do have a question for you though. Are you there in a student exchange program? Because I thought from some of your past pictures that you went to Moeller? You do not have to answer if you do not want to, I was just curious. Another good report.
  21. Interesting observation, I have come across the same thing. It makes you wander if the team would have been better off in Cincinnati? But as we all know, hind sight is 20/20 that is why no one wears glasses on their a$$.
  22. ^^^Yes that would have been nice, but I don't think the city was ready for it. Not to mention the team was not any where near NHL caliber both with players and coaching. The marketing department was even worse. They had a good thing going right where they were, but did not capitalize. I think it would have been more money than most people think if they would have went major. All new staff and marketing, and not to mention they would have had to build a new arena by the mid 90's. I would have done any thing to have NHL in this town, including voting yes on a tax increase so the county could build a new arena. (I voted no on the one for Baseball and Football). I think if we had the Cyclones marketing, with the caliber of play with the Tigers, (minus goaltending) we would have had a shot at an NHL team. Well there still is hope, or Columbus.
  23. I am sad that I missed that event, it looked like fun. On the topic of hockey history in Cincinnati, you can not go away without a mention of the three staples that were. We start off with the Mohawks, IHL gods with 5 strait championships. (I went to 1 game with my dad when I was a kid in 1957.) Second, the Buffalo Sabers farm team, the Swords with Dastardly Rick Dudley and Ray "Spider" McKay from 1971-1974. (Season ticket holder). And finally The Stingers from 1975-1979, good fights...I mean hockey. Still a good show all around. I still go to Cyclones games here and there, but it's just not the same. p.s. Wow Gordon that picture brings a tear to my eye. I haven't seen that place in years, in fact, I thought they ripped that out years ago. Thank you for that picture.
  24. I don't care what you say, I will not test it at 3:47pm. Ps. Don't you have a test to study for, I don't want to see your gpa drop below 2.0. What on earth did I do to you? I have no tests for about 2 weeks. I was stating that if you are on EDST, then that is remarkable that you still can do that conversion at such an ungodly hour, I am fresh in college and was so tired at that moment this morning It would have taken me a while to do that conversion. How did you take that as an insult? I really was not meaning to insult you, at all, I am extremely sorry if you took it as that way. I really am, I in no way meant to insult you, and am sorry. Yep Interpreter is right, I was just funnin you. (I like that term, I will have to use it more). Sorry If I came across wrong, I just remembered that you stated that you are going to UD and their gpa policy from the other thread. (However, I really do not want to see your gpa drop below a 3.0). KIman, in Australia people are very laid back as you may know. Twenty people is crowded to them, but they can get crowded at times with lines into the midway, that makes it seem more crowded than it really is. Boosterbike has a similar launch system and that is really my only complaint with that coaster. Well I will have to see for myself in May, have fun at Wet and Wild my other favorite their.
