  1. ^Or both.
  2. I've almost certainly ridden more cycles on The Georgia Cyclone than anyone else who posts on this board. I know The Georgia Cyclone. In fact, during several recent events when many rode Goliath over and over and over, someone who posts here was riding The Georgia Cyclone. Son of Beast is no Georgia Cyclone. So Mr. Bentsen, I mean Interpreter, what you are saying is that they need to re-design SOB and call it the Dan Quayle?
  3. How about Johnny Apollo on WMPS in Memphis. His real name is Billy Purser, he changed his name when he started on WAKY. The name came from Gery Owens on laugh in, who would announce that he was Gery Owens coming to you live from Burbank California. And yes he does a great Gery Owens impersonation.
  4. That Credo is actually an Old, Old, Old Gary Burbank line. As long as the Rev. Deuteronomy Skags does not say it, then it is credible......Ma.............
  5. There was a threat of terrorism before 9/11, during 9/11, after 9/11, yesterday, today, and there will be a threat of terrorism tomorrow. I have said it in a couple of other threads, and I will say it one last time: The journalistic credo, Your right to know supersedes your right to exist. One last thing, putting info like that in an article I do not think is that big of a deal. The ones who are going to use some thing like that, already knows how to do it. Any one who would just get the items and mix them using the info in the article, would most likely end up dead.
  6. ^You are correct, they do that because they can. Your right to know comes before any thing else, you, your children, your dog, even your right to go to the bathroom when you want. The only thing that I can say is do what I do. When ever you get the chance to talk to a reporter, just give them a bogus name and feed them some bad info, make them look bad.
  7. ^I'll take this one. It is quite simple, and the phrase is very thought provoking: Your right to know supersedes your right to exist. It is the journalistic credo.
  8. I find it odd that you have to cross a river or a body of water to get to most if not all of their attractions. Monroe, who wants to participate in their attractions but also wants to protect his sea sick body.
  9. http://www.bronners.com/ If you want to see it snow in a lobby, try going here. Every hour on the hour for about 20min. I hated Christmas for about 2 years after visiting this place, it is massive.
  10. http://www.wcpo.com/mostpopular/story.aspx...fa-6d452d152bbb I find it odd how wcpo just HAD to put a local spin on this, not to mention the dramatization. "It's not known if the Drop Zone will also be torn down." Oh well, I guess your right to know supersedes your right to exist.

Voyager? or is it V'GIR? Is that some kind of ride Paramount planned before they sold? Corrected, I do not know how the "r" got in there.

SOB is only 327' shorter than The Beast and only uses about half the land that The Beast uses, so yes you can fit a large long track in a small area. Also look at Voyage, it uses much less land in comparison because it is an out and back not a big loop in the woods. Most of the land that The Beast uses is really not even used because it is in the middle of a massive loop. This record and many like it will stand for many years, because the parks today care about exciting, fun, and eye catching rides. Record breakers just don't have the financial return that they used to have. I am speaking of American parks. European and Asian parks, including Australia, are different, they tend to look for records that will bring people in. Mainly the odd records like angles and G's.

Wait. After watching that that ride on youtube, is the train flying off the track?!?! Yes it does kind of pop up off the track, but you can't beat an old school woody like this one. It is even a better ride if you know how to persuade the cable break operator to just let the thing fly.

It was a menu, I saw it in a video.........man don't you know any thing? I know how to push your buttons! Besides, is it their contention that John Allen made it through life without a napkin? I don't know, I have never seen his chin after he ate dinner, or lunch, or breakfast for that matter. As for pushing my buttons, that easy they are all momentary contacts. Push in release, push in release, push in release. I saw that in a video too.

This is my favorite woody, I think KI should build one like this. I love the old school coasters, about 40mph, bumpy but not rough, and when a cable slips man is that a fun ride. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1055.htm

^I would like to have the Canoe ride AND The Beast. You don't HAVE to take some thing out to put some thing in. For some things it is more feasible to take some thing out for a new attraction, but if it can be moved, I am all for that. Take the bungee ride for instance. I do not use them, but if we were to get a new ride and that would be the best place for it, then I would say find another place for the bungee ride, don't remove them completely. So to all of those who say, "take that out to put in this", don't go to the park because they are not going to have any thing for you to enjoy. I have been going to the park since it opened, and there are too many rides that I miss, that I will never be able to enjoy, or for that matter my daughter.

^Because some people think that if they take out their least favorite ride or attraction, it would make THEM happy. Forget about any other opinion out there, they do not matter. I personally think that every thing in the park is a KEEPER.

^It was turbulent no matter where you happen to ride it, but I thought it fit well in the trees where it is now.

I took a ride on this one in Austria at Wiener Prater, and rode it again at Idlewild a couple of years ago and did not know it was the same coaster until now. Thanks Interpreter. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1460.htm?picture=1 http://www.rcdb.com/ig271.htm?picture=2
  21. I got into a similar argument with a cop about this very thing. Man that was the hardest $200 to fork over. As for the flag on top of the tower, Interp that is the very reason that I had heard they don't fly one up there, Aesthetics. Also they do make automated systems that will take down, store, and raise the flag automatically. It can also be programmed for half mast, or multiple flags.
  22. Tuskin, Call Chuck Bingham and tell him that you are working on a school paper and would like some info on new and used wood coaster pricing. Make sure you tell him that you got his name from the MVR add. He will get you in the ball park for the ride only, not install or transportation. Chuck is very nice and will work with you the best he can, and will not think that you are just bugging him or being nosey.
  23. Since I could not get through on the phone, I drove up there to find out if jackets were in (they are not). The whole top of the sign is down, all the way to the light board. And no I do not have pictures, because I did not want to take them.
  24. Actually, I had it right. As in: I could care less, but I can't because there is nothing less than that to care about. Or: I could care less, or I could care more, or I could care just as much as I have cared in the past. Finally: I could care less, but I will not, because if I did care less then I would not have any thing less to care about. I COULDN'T do that though, because I CAN care less. You know, I did this while I was SITTING their RUNNING down the street that went up hill?
