  1. Where does the ride engineering firm of Werner Stengel fit in to this equation? Given their reputation as the top coaster engineering firm don't some of these design problems fall on their shoulders? Perhaps SOB has to hasty of a design. Trying to emulate The Beast into a bigger beast has not fared well given SOB's history. In the history of roller coasters SOB will never be the equal of its father.
  2. Yeah Paramount has about the worst website out of any amusement park I have ever seen. Same theme and home page the whole season long. Please CF give us a website deserving of the King's Island name.
  3. I would also ride Gemini and Corkscrew, the lines are fairly short. I would also do Disaster Transport, I love dark rides plus you get to cool off. Have a great trip.
  4. I have to agree. Tear SOB down and rebuild a tamer woodie. Look at Holiday World, they don't have the biggest woodies around but they do have great ones. KI doesn't need the poor reputation that SOB has given the park forshadowing its future growth and popularity. SOB is dead wether it reopens or not. The polls on PKI Central prove it.
  5. The Beast is great because it is a terrain coaster. I would really love The Beast if it were to get a little bigger cars. Perhaps I'd better just go on a diet.lol
  6. I think the boxes are a great idea. Several years ago while standing in line to get on The Beastie with my kids, a ride attendant tried to cross from one side of the track to the other. She fell while crossing and got her leg wedged between the track and the wood planking. Luckily with help from the other ride attendants she got out without major injury. Ride safety should be taken very seriously.
  7. With CF at the helm it would be great to get a new restaurant like the Midway Market at CP. Its prices were great for an amusement park and the food quality was comparable to Golden Corral or Ryans which I don't think is to bad for a park.
  8. Bragging rights for Sonny don't do alot of good if its popularity and reliability continue to drop. I think its reputation now is its roughness and not much else.
  9. Its great when your kids get old enough to ride the big coasters with you. My 11 year old son and I made a trip by ourselves last year and had a blast. His new favorite is FOF, and yes I think it is worth a 2 hour wait if the line gets that long. Can't wait for our next trip because my 9 year old daughter has passed the 54" mark and will be able to ride FOF. My 4 year old daughter can't wait to ride the JR. coasters, she loves to look at pics of them while I'm on PKI Central.
  10. Does market research not consist of taking polls and asking opinions. How many times have you been phoned by market research companies wanting your opinion? Thats what market research does.
  11. I also think the new website should have a blog started and webcams throughout the park. I also think a forums section would be great to let CF management know what we the paying public think and want. While they're at it why not let us put in our two cents worth when it comes to renaming park areas and rides. They could post proposed names and take polls to let us decide.
  12. If SOB were to be torn down and rebuilt I hope they would be more creative and do a few more things to it. Being that SOB is the first looping woodie why not add another loop, corkscrew or other inversion? I think if its torn down though it won't be coming back.
  13. I cant wait for PKI to get a new website, the current one is not very informative and its slow. Hopefully the new site will have POV ride videos like CP's website does. The current website does not do justice to the great park KI is.
  14. I think SF is in trouble due to SF New Orleans not being in operation and the fact that it was losing money before the hurricane season. They are probably in the position that they have to start making some deep discounts available. In light of CF buying Paramount Parks, SF may be starting to feel the pinch that CF is starting to deliver. When SF owned/operated Worlds of Adventure it was one nasty place to visit, if the other SF parks operate the same no wonder they need big discounts.
  15. I have taken my 3 kids to Noahs Ark several times and have always felt that the train was unsafe. The tracks are very uneven in some spots and the tunnel is almost a head chopper. I doubt the ride was well maintained. I would be suprised if Noahs Ark makes it after this, the animal attractions are pretty bad and delapitated.
  16. Yet another way to stick it to the common man. Its bad enough to wait 1.5 hrs per ride let alone to have people blow by you when your next up in line. CP needs to look at it from the perspective of everyone in line, its plain and simply-LINE JUMPING. Am I jealous-probably, do I want to go ahead of everyone else who put in the wait time-no. It shouldn't be a matter of money it should be a matter of ethics.
  17. Coney is a great place to take the kids before school starts back. Its cheap, the lines are short and its fun for all ages. Pepsi Python isn't the best but It will do the job in a pinch.
  18. SOB.... not only because it is so rough and currently closed but because of the train cars. I have cut my legs on the bolts that stick out by the lap bar more times than should be which is none. Those Premier Rides cars need to be replaced should Sonny ever open again.
  19. With CF holding the reigns Boomerang Bay will probably become a seperate pay to enter park just like Soak City so the train may be used even less in the future. If that happens will the train become obsolete or will it again become more of the ride it used to be, complete with working animatronics? Hopefully CF won't follow suit on the water parks since Boomerang Bay has always been included in the price but only time will tell.
  20. When I was a kid I always wondered what it would be like if the Eifel Tower had a roller coaster added to it. Ater seeing a recent picture on RCDB of the Tower of Terror coaster at a park in South Africa, I began to entertain the thought again. Perhaps a dive type coaster could be added to the outside frame of the tower or perhaps it could be a giant Demon Drop. I dont know I just like to entertain these thoughts in my head, the what ifs...
  21. Yeah King Cobra was my 1st looper too. I loved riding it during Fearfest @ about 12AM, it was pretty fun. The only thing I dont miss about KC was the bicycle seat up the butt...ouch!
  22. Even if the park is not neglegent for ride inspection it is their responsibility to provide a safe environment for all park goers. If someone would have been killed as a result of this incident KI would be responsible to pay damages. If someone in your family dies on a commercial airline flight accident due to mechanical problems is it the airlines fault or the persons fault who got on the plane in the first place. Its the airlines fault. Does anyone here go on any amusement park ride willing to accept that any injury incurred by them due to mechanical problems is their own fault and not that of the amusement park in question? I don't.
  23. Seems like if the Cincinnati Zoo can afford them so could KI.
  24. The history section is the best I've seen of any theme park fans website. This website overall puts PKI's website to pitiful shame. They should take a lesson from this site.
