If Kings Island never removed old rides, they wouldn't be able to afford new rides because maintenance would be so high on the old ones. It's as simple as that. Would you rather have SOB or screamin demon? SDATHC or Enchanted Voyage? Bat or Tombraider?

I've heard that PKD's international street is a lot smaller but I've never been there, I'll probably take a trip there this summer.
-
Yes Dominion has an Eiffel Tower, they also have many other rides similar to the rides at PKI like The Racer. Try looking at PKD
-
Hmm new seats, that will be nice.
-
What's new, coaster wise, for PKI?

::APPLAUSE:: to the maintenance dept. for the first turn on Beast! -
HAHA Tiny actually read the book... crazyness, yeah looks like we're getting a parade.
-
I doubt PKI will wait until July to announce a parade, if Carowinds is doing it, there's a good chance that PKI will do it too. But I could be wrong, who knows.
-
Hmm I haven't seen the new PKI commercial but now I know what to say at the end of my Train speil.
-
Carowinds.com got a whole new site layout and it looks really nice. I hope the rest of the sites, or just PKI get the same layout.
-
I'm not sure why PKI decided to go with a castle theme, but Carowind's and Dominion's are both mansions. They also use cars designed for the ride but ours are just Phantom Theater cars repainted and fitted with laser guns.
-
Yeah well I rode KCKC and King Cobra over 50,000 times each last year but I only made it on The Bat about 10 times because it was always down.
-
That's where they torture employees who aren't doing their job... oops probably shouldn't have said that.

PKD Scooby's Haunted Mansion Anyone know if PKD's Scooby Ride is in a new building or replaced something else like ours?, just curious.

The Discovery Channel was at the park last year to film Tombraider and the Travel Channel came to film Delirium. I might have the 2 channels mixed up but I know they were there last year. They also came in 2001 to film Beast and I was there early in the morning when they were filming.

As soon as these guys get any info, it will be all over these boards, just hold tight.
-
The majority of guests at PKI are return visitors so scaring people wouldn't work, it would just get old. And yeah Sparky, I got it.
-
But if you build a Vekoma inverted junior coaster next to it and put some fiberglass characters on it, then it's cool right? New for 2001 - a 29+ year old Log Flume.

The cheerleaders perform at Timberwolf because that event is very popular and Timberwolf is much bigger

Haha, I have a folder for amusement park sites under my favorites, it's named SH*T, I kid you not.

For your safety, please keep your hands, arms, and legs inside the boat at all times. Thank you. For the safety of your child they must sit on the seat and not in your lap. Thank you. For your safety, please do not rock or lean your boat. Thank you. Hey folks for safety of yourselves and those around you we ask that there is no smoking while in any line here at Paramount's Kings Island, THAAAAANK YOU. (Flume automated speil)

Hello ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to the Kings Island and the Miami Valley railroad. I'd just like to remind that there is no eating, drinking or smoking permitted on the train and for your safety, keep your hands arms and legs inside the train at all times, now sit back, relax and enjoy your ride on the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad. To your left and to your right are a few of the raging rapids of White Water Canyon. Just remember our promise to you as you travel through the twisting channels, YOU WILL GET WET, YOU MAY GET DRENCHED. To your left and through the trees is Rushing River, a 700 foot twisting, turning channel of water, one of the major attractions of Water Works, our 30 acre premier water park. Water Works is open from 11AM to 7PM Sunday through Thursday and 11AM to 8PM on Friday and Saturday, weather permitting of course. Water Works features many attractions for the young and old including a 600,000 gallon heated wave pool called Surfside Bay, Buccaneer Island, a pirate ship for the kids, and WipeOut Beach, where your body is the surf board. In order to enjoy many of the attractions of Water Works, you must be wearing proper swim attire, suits with buttons, buckles, snaps and rivets are not permitted on many attractions. Be sure to wave to our crossing guard (insert name here) As we approach the Water Works station please make sure you have all of your personal belongings and enjoy your day. If you are staying with us for the return trip to Rivertown, please remain seated we will be under way in just a few minutes. (welcome speil) What you have seen so far today is not all PKI has to offer, we have 375 acres with over 100 rides shows and attractions including our newest adventure Delirium. Delirium is a 85 foot swinging pendulum that reaches speeds of 76 mph. Hey kids we have a great new adventure waiting for you in Hanna Barbara Land, SCOOBY DOO AND THE HAUNTED CASTLE. Ride in the mystery machine with Scooby, Velvma, Fred, Daphne and Shaggy as you try to solve the mystery of the green ghost haunting an ancient castle. You'll go through grave yards, creep corridors and dreary dungions while zapping ghosts with your fright light blasters. Just to your right is the train engine house and car barn where we store our trains at night. As we approach the Rivertown Station I'd like to thank you for joining us today on the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad. Please remain seated until the train comes to a complete stop and enjoy the rest of your day at Paramount's Kings Island where the magic of the movies makes the thrills of a life-time. Another favorite: ONE THE COUNT OF THREE HOW LOUD CAN YOU BE? 1, 2, 3!

Roughest riding coaster at PKI?
derbeast replied to ckimbro's little bodyguard's topic in Kings Island
At least SOB has speed and the loop is fun, Mean Streak is just as rough if not more and the whole ride seems slow, as soon as you pick up speed on that ride, you hit a brake. -
Part of it is your imagination, part of it is because the track and wheels have warmed up from a days worth of use.
-
I used to think it was rough when I was a younger but that was probably because I didn't know how to hold myself on a coaster back then.
-
UMMMM this is definitly a repeat.
