Ummmm... hopefully something other than pki, coney island, and wonder park. I need to get around and ride something. And here's a confession: I have never been to Cedar Point, and I have no idea what it looks like.
-
I believe they open up to applications on the 10th, but I'm not sure. My advise is to apply during a job fair, because there will be a lot of people there, and the chances of getting turned down are pretty slim. And, yes, you can only pick one ride, but that ride may/may not be paired with another ride or rides. For example, if you were to join my crew, you would be working Delirium and Slingshot the entire season long. This doesn't mean you won't get the chance to work Son of Beast or Drop Zone, because you will always get that chance if their crews are understaffed for that day, and you will have to get 'sent' there. If you wanted to work Reptar, then that ride is paired with several other HB rides as well, so there will be much rotating-although I wouldn't advise choosing an HB crew- it does stuff to ya. There are single/non-paired up rides you can choose, such as Skyflyer, TRTR, and WWC, in which the only rotations are within that one ride.
-
Yeah, I know them too. lol. I whined a lot about not getting trained, and look where it got me- I finally got signed off at the end of September to drive both of my rides.
-
It depends on what benefits you are talking about. They have something called, 'funcentive points'- these are given to employees demonstrating the behavior and fun they are looking for. Say, if you get a good GR from a guest, you will personally get a certain amount of points that can go towards anything you want from their funcentive store. They have a lot of stuff there from pki merchandice to Cedar Point and holiday world tickets. Other things are just given- they hold events normally during employee appreciation week, or just random, like RIDES NIGHT- where all employees get to ride some of an area's rides after the park closes, and you get free food. Cookie Day- where employees are given free cookies and soda that day. Punch Day- where your crew gets a containter of kool-aid mix, so you have something else to drink on the job besides water. Games night- when employees get to play certain coney arcade games for free (yes, this includes all 3 games of DDR) for a period of time after the park closes. Stuff like that sometimes make the job even more worthwhile.

By experience, I can say that AZ normally sends around AZ, or to Coney.
-
Well, kinda... I mean, um.... I learned my lesson after numerous people from Coney tried mauling me for the next two weeks after the incident, but... I'm not a big fan of working on coasters. I prefer to check bars in a circle. It's easy, and things like that racer incident won't happen on Delirium, becuase you know where you left off, and you can't exactly cross through the middle of the gondola. Besides, Hablo, you were on monster when that happened. ...and I love you too.

You have to rotate. Unless there is a huge staffing problem, you will most likely be rotating. It might take a while for the 'newbies' to get trained to drive the ride, though. So they will get rotated between say, being greeter and checking restraints on Delirium. As for getting trained on Delirium, it all is easy until the new person or send gets trained to rotate on our floor. Since all three seat-checking people rotate every cycle, it does get a little confusing figuring out who is picking up loose articles, who is checking seats 25-1, and who is checking seats 26-50. Other than that, it's entirely easy. The people there are normally a blast to work with, and even though you may get 'grilled' on Delirium's reflective floor panels, you walk off with a pretty impressive (farmers) tan. Delirium, like Drop Zone, is also a little different from the other rides, not only because all of the seat-checkers rotate every cycle, but because we check seats in the most comfortable and efficient way possible. IN A CIRCLE. I think pki was fun for me for a few reasons: the atmosphere, the rides, and the people that work them.

Depending on where you work, BAFFDays could be nasty. I only worked one last year as a swing shift, and I got sent to SDATHC- things were pretty nice in there.

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour

Well, I'll be there in spirit. I have school that day. -
Kings Island (ride-op team) has been the best job I have ever had. Just like Brad said before, it is something that could just make you ten times happier than you were before you entered the park. Nearly everything about the job is bound to make you happier; being around all of your favorite rides and practically living in the park for the summer, the enthusiastic visitors, your fun-loving coworkers, supervisors, managers, full-timers, being outside and enjoying the warm weather, or even staying after your open shift to play a few games of DDR in the festhaus. Everything about the job completely rocks! (especially if you join the DSS crew)
-
So, okay, the park doesn't officially open until April, but here's just a fun little question to hold us off until it does. What is the first thing you are going to do (employee or guest) when the park officially opens? I'm either going to be working (hopefully at DSS), or my first ride to ride will be Delirium. Then I'm going to travel all over AZ, riding everything.
-
AZ owns all. Delirium/SS should be recognized for our hard efforts put forward, when people forget their seat numbers, or leave their articles out of the bins...
-
I am already feeling spring fever, because this warm weather is so untimely. I would hate to see it go. If IJST doesnt open until May, where do it's crew go during April, and how do they train for that ride?
-
Hell, why not stick drop zone at the top? Everyone loves a good freefall. Think about it- a tower on top of another tower.
-
* Sigh.*
-
I was between either of my two home rides- Delirium or Slingshot. It took me about 5 seconds to make my decision based on downtime. SS had an awful lot of it, because of a slight circumstance that was blown waaaay out of porportion by the media, and ended up with about a week and a half straight worth of downtime, making me have to work at *gulps* Top Cat's Taxi Jam. At Delirium, we really didn't have as much downtime as was reported last year, and had a much better turn out with satisfied guests, so my vote goes to Delirium. That, and that ride kicks all the other flats in the parks butts!

Whats the worst rumor about PKI of all time?

Screechin Eagle was the only good ride that they had, next to their scooters. They barely had any rides to begin with, they had two 'big kid' coasters- the Serpent and the Screechin Eagle, and they really don't hold a candle to anything pki has. Although- I noticed the Serpent looks a lot like our old Bavarian Beetle... -

Eh, one can still hope, and be happy that we have what we have. After all, it could be worse, you could be working for WonderPark or the defunct Americana. -

Matt, don't you go to school? -
You have got to be kidding me. I HATED the Pepsi python. It went too slow sometimes, it was really jerky, and there really wasn't any real hill. I got no thrill out of it whatsoever. I just rode it last year (again) because I love coasters.

As well as Delirium's 'W- Toggle_Switch_Stucked'. Huss needs better translators working for them, if you ask me.
-
It's not track- it's a big pile of dirt.
-
Not even a train- it's a car. lol.

I got it too. It was cute.
