Twas The Night At Dollywood
Very nice PTR Jesse! Christmas in The Smokies surely is a tremendous event, one which has become somewhat of a tradition for me. The singing and dancing of the shows and the festive atmosphere at the park makes for a truly great time. I was just in Pigeon Forge for Thanksgiving weekend with my mom and sister, and we had a blast. I am glad you had so much fun! Hopefully Robbie and I can make it back down there before the year ends sometime after Christmas, we are running out of time and had so much fun last year.!

Cedar Fair: Sale? Re-Finance? What Next?
This is very interesting news! I think we all had some idea this may happen though. The debt load that Cedar Fair took on when they acquired the Paramount Parks was just too much to chew on, especially during such a poor economic climate immediately following the purchase. Like Terpy said, the deal still has to be voted on and approved by 2/3 of the outstanding units. I wonder if this will open up some bidding to other chains here in the next few months. In all probability a management company could see the same things Apollo is seeing and attempt to acquire Cedar Fair for a marginally higher price than what is currently offered. Oh, the things that happen during the off-season! I was starting to think this was going to be a rather boring off-season, guess I'll think again!

Death At Disney World
I was at Walt Disney World from June 30th until July seventh (Just got home) for my 21st Birthday Celebration. It was so surreal being at Hollywood Studios at 12AM and seeing everyone around from the Cincinnati,OH area look at their phone for a text from a loved one or friend back home. The noon news on channel 12 flashed the monorail news and within a few minute window, I think nearly everyone from the area who had a loved one watching the news was texted or called. We had just gotten out of Indiana Jones and were standing on the midway when phones rang around us...then my phone rang...a friend texted me asking about the monorail. It was such a weird coincidence on the day after. Over the next couple of days I can say that I have never seen so many news helicopters fly above WDW trying to get the scoop. Anyways, in a note to Disney Employees it was stressed that Track switch sensors monitoring the track switch position near the entrance to the "spur" at the Ticket and Transportation Center were replaced. Hopefully an accident like this never occurs again!

And while at KI on Saturday, I was thinking how empty it was for a Saturday since so many people were at CP. Not that I was complaining. There was noone at Cedar Point on Saturday either! Sunday was nothing but walk-ons!

Interesting Things Ride-Ops Do
Hahaha, not so fast Sam...That is a collaboration of sorts between two friends! The original version is at Diamondback and goes: "That all clear means you're rolling out of here, whether you're in the front or towards the caboose, time to hang on tight, we're letting Diamondback loose!"

did anyone notice this?
DB's floor is diamond plate while Action Theatre's floor is this rubber stuff. Wait a minute, when did Diamondback get diamond plate for the floor?

Diamondback Question
Remember, there is an awesome test seat in front of the Diamondback sign that turns green when the restraint is locked correctly! I highly suggest trying out that test seat before riding! The test seat at least provides a unique photo opportunity in front of the Diamondback ride sign!

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
I didn't say I thought it was there for breaking, just curoious about the effect on the speed of the train that is all. Let us hope that it is not there just to break, or even used for breaking that would be bad. Let's just hope that it is in fact there to brake the train's speed!

Six Flags Announces Full Year Results
That would not happen. The government would not like an individual bankrupting a holding firm that they own to re-buy their own majority owned property debt-free. If Dan Snyder wants to take the company private, he would have to buyout all shareholders with his own cash on hand. Not to mention for a hand full of pennies on the dollar and with many less headaches, Snyder and Red Zone could pick up the rest of the chain for somewhere near where they could even if they went bankrupt and re-purchased the chain debt-free (If the government were to allow it). It won't happen. Also, if Snyder wanted to infuse SIX with more cash, he really could. He owns the Washington Redskins, and that is where he is currently putting his money. Not into his theme park holdings, or should I say his current theme park holdings.
