  1. Actually, strong winds did knock down part of SoB during construction, and that section had to be rebuilt. But there was no tornado. See here: http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/news/...011400_03.shtml How is that for a bad omen?
  2. Yeah, Impairment charge has become the flavor of the month....er...year if you will. So many companies are taking them, and it becomes hard to tell who the stronger companies are. On the other hand it is necessary to temper what the information actually says about a particular company since so many companies are declaring impairment charges.
  3. You had a long drive, and we wanted to make sure that your windshield was clean! That, and well we are just cool like that! haha Ah, the adult-oriented hot sauces. Quite a selection they have! Thanks for joining us to Jungle Jim's Corey, it was nice to meet you! When a couple of us began planning the idea of Dinner After Diamondback, that was the plan! I know that I was looking forward to getting people together for some fun after wards more than I was the actual tour. We will see Diamondback a million times. Some of us already could draw the layout and statistics of the layout without much error on a restaurant napkin! What we won't get to see a million times are the people that make this site great. As I have told many of you multiple times...I don't look forward to the activities, I look forward to the people at the activities. The activities are just the icing on the cake. After Diamondback we had a phenomenal time. I would like to encourage anyone here to not hesitate to join our group if you see it forming after an event. Thank you Ronny and Jesse for taking photos for this PTR, and thanks Kat for taking pictures for yours! Bill and Jesse, thanks for the advice that we should eat at Loose Moose Cottage! Bill thanks for driving us around in your van, that goes down as a major highlight of the evening! Kat and Nick Thanks for joining us as well! Ronny thanks for being our Jungle Jim's tour guide! Gabriel, Chris, and Robbie, thanks for helping make the night so much fun! Corey, thanks for joining us to Jungle Jim's, hopefully next time you will join us again for more of the festivities!
  4. You will see a little box that says "Options" with a down arrow beside it on that first visible post on your screen. It is located on the same line as the Subject Title for the current thread on the very right-hand side. Click it. A drop down menu appears. Look for "Display mode" and then select standard.
  5. That would be Beast08!
  6. Hah, we both have orange jackets...we stood out pretty easily! Well aside from Phantom Theater in his shorts! haha
  7. Kat, I loved your report, and I am glad that you and your husband could come join us for our little Festivities After Diamondback! I am glad I could see you guys again. It truly was such a great fun day!
  8. They are a publishing company. They publish stationary, and other graphics intensive documents for businesses. I believe Springdot publishes the Park map.
  9. Do not forget, at night you can see The Beast's eyes glaring out of the cave and onto the passing trains!
  10. "You spin me right 'round baby, right 'round like a record baby!" LOL. I was surprised to see that one on the list too! DO NOT check his link if at school or at work. Not a good idea, lol
  11. Then you...REALLY need to fast-forward to minute 2! The ride on the monorail is much more appealing...and stable!
  12. I came across the following video on Youtube, it highlights the park in 1992. Among many things shown in the video are about 3 minutes of footage from inside the monorail looking out onto the Wild Animal Habitats! This is a simply amazing video! Thanks to Geminibuzz on Youtube! It can also be seen here: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="660" height="525"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="660" height="525"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  13. I will, and have many times. As long as I have a nice raincoat with me, or am in a good mood, I don't mind walking through a pouring rain in a park (rides or no rides). It adds to the excitement that some days just have, especially if said rain ends up clearing! There is something peaceful I find about a driving rain and dark clouds, same goes for clear skies and sunny. Both ends of the spectrum I find particularly pleasing. Sometimes it is nice just to walk around a park, deserted or full, pouring or clear and sunny. It makes for great conversation with strangers when huddled under an awning as well! Cory, getting sentimental and wishing he was at the park on any day!
  14. I think we all hope that! I am sure it will be great!
  15. A big Congratulations to everyone who got a job at Kings Island for this upcoming season. It is one of the greatest experiences and most rewarding jobs that I have had in my short life, you gain a lot of helpful experience while working at Kings Island! Just remember to work hard, communicate well and be friendly at all opportunities! You all will have a blast! My sister recently was rewarded a Rides Associate spot at The Beast, so I know the excitement that you all will have! I have seen a lot of it! Good luck to all, and once again, congratulations!
  16. That is correct, Thunderhead has two exit gates. However, I believe you do not have to come together, one of the exit gates leads directly into the arcade, if I am not mistaken, while the other one comes out next to the arcade. I am a little fuzzy on this, but I am mostly sure that is how it was set up...Robbie and I were mostly worried about sneaking in another ride as quick as possible, so we weren't too worried about what the exits did!
  17. And, if that happens, travel for those that even work becomes obviously unnecessary! That would be an even bigger problem!
  18. From the preliminary news coming out for the possible bidders, I am hoping that FPI gets the park. They seem to have been the most proactive in this process! Oh, and Memorial Day is much closer than "sometime in June"!
  19. I would agree there was "more action" in the backseat, the ride is more violent and doesn't let up even more than the front! However, as Robbie will tell you, we found the front seat in the dark to be the better of the two! This is just because of the view of the layout and the mountain side in the front! Thunderhead is a gem of a coaster, a pure gem!
  20. Cedar Fair Reported Results for 2008 Also, Cedar Fair reported no change to the dividend policy, only that they were still considering all options to lower the debt and nothing has been finalized. http://www.cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases...mp;story_id=187
  21. And that banner is going to look great hanging over the front gate!
  22. Now things should get interesting! Who wants it most?
  23. Like what? ride The Racer? Good move! Insulting him is going to get you great respect from this community. He was only kidding. Beast08 would only make that comment in jest.
  24. ^The single greatest post, ever!
