  1. I think I heard two guys were able to ride about 35 times that day? And even some got as many as 8 or nine rides in, in one hour. No joke!

I know some people see things like this, and it really makes us shine....but if you REALLY want people to know how good we are doing; tell guest relations!

  2. The other day I noticed:

    -All TVs working

-What appeared to be new speakers for the TVs

    -Inside Saucer music

    -Station music

    -Station woman voice over

    -Station alien audio

    -Ride music

    -Ride lights

    -Unloading alien audio

Overall, I was VERY impressed with it. Especially coming back from Fiesta Texas and riding the outside, brakeless version - Poltergeist. And I have to say....Flight of Fear kicks its butt. Ride wise and theming wise. I love FoF. It's right behind Diamondback. I LOVEE the theming.

  3. I had my keys on a carabiner clip and The Crypt unclipped it and threw them to the floor.

Took about 2 hours to get them back.

I now have a pair of cargo shorts with zippered pockets.

Lets see that ride try to take them from me now.

Alright, that's the worst I've heard. They tell you eveything will get taken away! They have those pouches RIGHT infront of you!

  4. This is why you SECURE ALL ITEMS on the ride or put them in the bins.

I've never lost anything on Diamondback the previous 20 times I have rode it so I thought some keys wouldn't be a problem.

Each one of my 200-some rides on Diamondback....I've had nothing in my pockets.

Nothing on your person = no worries. That's how you should ride Diamondback.

  5. ^There are filters. You think KI would let some nasty dirty water hit people while they ride? Naw.

The water shoots up and out. It could have hit you plainly; it could have hit off your hand and on you; off Giga's hand; it's no Mythbusters.

I've gotten water up my nose one time. No lie. Brown train, left side, row 16 is where the best place to get wet is.

  6. Terminator and Prowler look really good.

But I've only been on Diamondback, so I can't say.

This is a KI fansite; where most have only been to KI or CP. What do you expect to win in this poll?

  7. This guy needs to learn how to assign rows.

This is how ya do it:

    2: Row 1

    4: Row 2, Row 3

    2: Row 4

    3: Row 5, Row 6. Single Rider, Row 6.

    4: Row 7, Row 8

    2: Row 9

    2: Row 10

    6: Row 11, Row 12, Row 13

    3: Row 14, Row 15. Single rider, Row 15

    2: Row 16.

Yep, this is exactly how I would expect it to be done (and has been done).

Actually, my fear was that it was some sort of "test" to see if they could effectively fill trains without a Single Rider Line - if it was, it failed, but after my conversation with the supervisor I don't think it was.

Things don't go according to plan every time. Put in factors like:

    -People switching rows

-People not entering the train when they're supposed to

-People waiting for friends in other rows; trying to ballance things out themselves

Here's what I always say. The single rider line NEVER has an estimated wait time. But the main line does. If using the single rider line is too much of a hassle for you; then use the main line. If the main line is too long for your taste, then go to a different ride or attraction.

  8. Actually that ball in the pic is not bouncy at all, but is as soft as a pillow

    Wrong.

It's a large inflated rubber ball; with a thin sheet of cheap fur over it. You bounce them.

Can't tell you HOW many times I've had kids bouncing balls in the station at Diamondback and the ball gets loose and almost goes into the track. GRR.

  9. Here are my top coasters:

    -Voyage

    -Cornball Express

    -Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster

    -Maverick

    -Afterburn

    -Kentucky Rumbler

    -Diamondback

    -Goliath (SFOG)

    -Space Mountain

    -Steel Hawg

    -California Screamin'

    -Thunderhead

    -Raven

    -Millennium Force

    -Top Thrill Dragster

In the "Can't be touched" category:

Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster - It's just an experience that can't be touched in my opinion. The ride, the theming, the place...it's just something that I will not forget.

    Top 5:

    1. THE Voyage: Completely blew me away, ejector air all over the course, and a smooth but out of control feeling. WOW.

    2. Maverick - CP: It's just everything that I'd want from a coaster....and more!

    3. Diamondback - KI: Enough said.

    4. Goliath - SFOG: Just sooo many times I got that stomach in my throat feeling. And I LOVE that feeling!

    5. Space Mountain - DL: Wow, I loved the experience! The ride and theming.

    Close behind.

    6. California Screamin': Very Similar to Maverick.

    7. Cornball Express: Ejector air, crazy lay out, and buzzbars!

    8. Kentucky Rumbler: Just an awesome wooden coaster.

    9. Afterburn: Fanastic B&M invert, great forces, great elements.

    10. Steel Hawg: One CRAZY coaster. Very NEW elements and feelings it gave me. It's something different, and I loved the hell out of this ride!

  10. (Just an aside, if you really do want to ride a coaster that is very similar to being pushed in a Kroger shopping cart, up hills then down rattly ones...try Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain at Indiana Beach!)

Forwards OR backwards! And make sure you're near bears. That's a must ;)

  11. Diamondback, then Millennium, then Magnum.

Magnum SHOULD be better than Millie....but the restraints set it back.

Millennium is a great ride, and does what it was built to do very well. Maintain speed, and hold records.

Diamondback is a great, new age B&M full of airtime. If you like airtime...go for Diamondback. In my opinion, Diamondback's first drop is the best on any coaster. It's sudden, long, steep, and full of airtime. Millennium's is too drawn out....I just don't get the stomach in my throat feeling like I do on Diamondback. The other two airtime hills are fun..but Diamondback's airtime is so much stronger. Millennium's is hardly floater. But that's not what it was built for! I hate how people bash it to death because of this.

Millennium Force isn't about airtime! Did you hear that?!

Magnum's is so strong it hurts! If it had Intamin or B&M trains...it'd be a FANTASTIC ride. I can only wish.

It's hard to call, because Diamondback is my home ride; Cedar Point's rides have the "special vacation feel" to them.

  12. My gosh. Does it matter? The ride is fun.

Yes it does matter each seat is a diffrent ride expirence.

    Sweet Lord.

He's telling the truth, Mr. DiamondbackLover.

I've ridden nearly 200 times, and I still can't call a row my favorite....they're all so good, and each seat is soooo different!

  13. KI Man - I remember seeing you a few times after rides early in the season and you raving about rows 8 and 9. I talked to you a little while later and you said you liked row 4. I saw you again recently and you said rows 6 and 10 are where it's at. I think many of us are like this, that your favorite row changes with each ride, and also goes to show you that there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer!

Personally, I like row 1 (if the train is warmed up...I've had some rides up here where the air here has just been 'ok'), row 16 (best seat for first drop, exit from hammerhead, drop off MCBR and drop into splashdown), but I agree with KI Man that rows 6-10 offer rides that are underrated. Those middle row rides offer the really cool sustained float over each and every hill.

I think the worst rows are row 3-5 (you don't get the view like you do in rows 1 & 2 and the air (and speed) isn't quite as pronounced) and rows 11 & 12 (you don't get the float, IMO, nor do you get the pull down the hills like you do in the last three or four rows).

I agree with pretty much everything here!

The reason odd rows are smoother is because those are the seats that aren't on the wheels. The even rows are seperated and winged out; over the wheels.

I'm not sure how the green train is the "fastest"....all the trains are the same, besides the color....and go through the same ride!

I'm not really sure if you can say there's ejection air on this ride. Just, strong sustained airtime. Try Cornball Express, Voyage, or Maverick for Ejection air!
