3,000 x 3 minute 20second ride = 9600/60 = 160 HOURS spend on Diamondback! That's 6.666666 days!
I hope I did my math right.
-
I don't think anything in that picture is new. It's always been piles of dirt back there. Oh, maybe the dying grass is new!
-
I have taken quite a few friends to the park who haven't gone before...I would have had to ride 4 times if it was open!
Cha ching!
The latest 'dirt' I have on SOB is that the rose bowl will be gutted, and then replaced with an out and back section.
Texas Giant treatment? I'm all for it. But at the same time, I'm on the boat with...the amount of money, effort, and advertising it will take to turn this ride around....just get rid of it!
Either way will please me.
Did you know Woodstock Express has a trim before the second turn around?
-
I have enjoyed Son of Beast not operating this year.
-
Gut it and put in an Intamin Frisbee. or a Screamin' Swing. kthx.
-
I NEED to ride this coaster
-
No, I haven't done any more shoots with my friend. Although, I think he still plays. It was pretty fun though. Very intense! I'd do it again if I had the chance.
-
darn, I love my women orange.

Best rumor thread ever!

Dollywood.

A water coaster would be the perfect addition to Boomerang Bay. I'm sure my trip to Schlitterbahn in July will make me want one even more. Now if I can only talk Mrs. Gator into a trip west so I can ride Wildebeest... I better not, since I'm also trying to get a family trip to CP out of her!
don't get too hyped up about Master Blaster. Yeah it's big and all, but it's completely forceless. Water jets barely get you up the hills! Bu it's very long, so it's fun. We had two hours of ERT on MB and the Boogie Bahn..ride MB once, then went over to Boogie for the rest.
-
Yeah, I hope for this one too. I love waterparks, and even though KI has a decent park already...they should add something new. Hasn't been touched since '04.
-
I'm starting to wonder if this show will be a "once a season" for me or not. How do you guys feel who have seen it more than once?
-
Agreed. I can't wait to go back up to see the light show again!
-
Thanks for all the comments everyone! Here are a few from during the day...
Starting from behind the Tower.
Snoopy's the star!
Lots of lights
All the characters
The flowers are closed during the day so they don't eat children.
Monkey we love you....give us the bag of meth!
-
It's hard to get everything in one update. There's tooonnnnssss of lights. These photos don't do justice! Especially the atmosphere of the area. The music, the lights, everyone around...stangely tranquil and relaxing.

Hey KIC,
Took a few pics from the show tonight, and really enjoyed it it was very well executed for what we have to work with. I assume everyone will have a different reaction, coming from "nice lights" to "not my thing" to "I want to come back tomorrow night!"
I'd stick around in the evenings to watch this show again! So now we have three nightly awesome shows:
-Starlight
-Fireworks
-Fountains
KI at night is the place to be!
Enjoy,
Zach
It's getting darker...
Splash but no train?
After Boo Blasters, HELL NO! Fool me once, shame on you....Terp, can you finish the rest for me?
They light up around 9, and the show starts at 9:30.
Patriotic, much?
Lots of different colors.
There's 3-D for ya
These flowers were cool
Clock all lit up. this is GABE'S

Glad you had fun at HW I am looking forward to HWN for some ERT on Wildebeest. I am on able to see about 2/3 of your photos though.
Hm they are all fine for me.
Yeah, I heard Legend was re tracked as well. But like I said, it felt extra slow coming out of the tunneled helix, some spots really jackhammered...they clearly missed a few spots. Most noticably by the turn around by Zinga.
Thanks, everyone.

Voyage did get a bit rough, probably because they spent the upkeep money on the Timberliners this year. We ride 2nd to last car, back bench...and yikes. But it's still awesome because of the airtime! The front seat surprised the hell out of me, I forgot how much air was on those first few big hills. I thought I was on El Toro!
-
Holiday World has changed quite a bit since last year..
-Voyage is undergoing the Timberliner transformation
-Pilgrim's Plunge looks great, and seems they ballanced the water level out just right
-Raven seems very, very smooth, and is running fantastic
-Wildebeest made its debut, and WOW...I'll talk about that later.
Voyage - This ride is pretty insane. Very forceful, and tons of airtime. I totally forgot how much airtime the first three big hills have, it was running pretty well - especially with the MCBR off. Front seat and backseat are too hard to pick which is better, but watch out for the middle of the train, it can get rough. Riding in the second to last car, back bench it was pretty noticable, nevertheless, Voyage is still Voyage and gives a nice ride. Airtime, airtime, airtime, and when you're tired...more airtime! Didn't mind PTC's still being there because it's still my favorite coaster! 10/10
Raven - It had some down time earlier in the day, but man was it running great! It is 15 years old now, and still delivers one of the best coaster rides out there. Definately a back seat ride, by the way. Strong laterals, strong airtime, a tunnel, and oh yeah, that CRAZY CCI drop in the middle of the ride. 9/10
Legend - I like this ride, but seems to have been running better last year. I'm not that big of a fan of the ride, and in the grand scheme of the woodies out there, it stands out. A little rough in some parts, but it seems you love the laterals or you don't, and I think I spent too much of my energy trying not to slam from left to right. Regardless, great airtime moments in there, and one of the best first drops! 6.5/10
Pilgrim's Plunge - I had a few problems with this last year, but everything is fine and dandy now! It looks great, and they added a few things. One of the boats we saw had a small splash shield infront, probably to block the water spraying in your face down the drop. Also, the restraints have a small side handle on them, probably to keep little kids from wiggling out. It does not come to a painful hault after the drop, unlike early last year. It skips across the water, and then BIG splash! Much bigger than last year. I was pleasantly surprised. Hopefully it won't give them as much downtime problems. 8/10
Be sure to check out Liberty Launch, Frightful Falls, and the other classic flats.
Splashin' Safari is probably the best waterpark I've been to. It's really hard to beat.
-A long open family raft ride.
-An enclosed, super long raft ride. Kind of scared me!
-Mat racers with a nice airtime hill that sends you airborne.
-3 Enclosed single/double tube slides.
-Proslide Tornado that kicks all sorts of butt.
-Proslide Behemoth bowl that is HUGE.
-2 wave pools
-2 open/enclosed tube slides
-2 rivers, lazy/rapids
And then there's Wildebeest. I was pretty sure I would have a new favorite waterpark ride after this Proslide water coaster, and I knew it would be good coming from KI's Great Wolf Lodge Proslide water coaster. After visiting Schlitterbahn, I've experienced the old school water coasters, and now, this thing.
--Now, it was good with a full boat, but just Andrew and I came back later for some more rides. Everyone MUST try Wildebeest with two people! I assume less weight means the LIMs can throw you up the hill a LOT quicker because man...the whole raft flies off the slide and goes THUMP as you land back down, not drastically, but enough that you could pretty much change seats in mid air! The airtime is insane. It's hard to choose Voyage or Wildebeest when going to Holiday World. The ride is very smooth, too. You don't need to worry about bracing yourself in the turns or at the bottom of the drops. Just relax, and omg hold on tight!
enjoy,
-Zach
Everyone is gay with excitement for Voyage!
Reason #1 - Front seat of Voyage.
Reason #2 - Voyage in general.
Heading into (airtime) heaven, never to be seen again!
This was covered up later in the day. Snooze you lose!
Reason #3 - this amazing ride.
Reason #4 - This first drop.
It's not a bad ride, I guess I'm not a lateral guy.
Airtime > Laterals for me. So Raven > Legend. Raven was much smoother, too.
A bit sinister?
Little did we know this is going to be as good as Voyage!

The kid in the back's expression says it all. OMG THAT WAS AMAZING
ProSlide set up their own office in the station!
Unfortunately, it's not photogenic at all.
It just goes, and goes, and goes...
Fun twisty part at the end.
See that turn and drop? One of the most INSANE moments of airtime, ever.
Reason #5 - Wildebeest. Go ride it now!!!
Other fantastic slides. Can you spot legend's train?
First drop madness!
Great giant airtime hill, then reasons #6-#26 - Voyage's phenominal tiny airtime hills.
Someone just found reason #20 or something. One of the numerous little hills.
Big, fast, badass.
Crazy forces or constipation?
Hairtime everywhere!
Can DirecTV give me this channel?
Wait, what's that?
LOL! Yeah, Voyage's phenominal airtime WILL steal your necklaces! That's how strong it is.
I don't hate this ride anymore, so you deserve one photo.
-
Lol, that's NOT offensive.
What makes you think she smokes? Why does that matter?
-
"Hey wait, is the Voyage better than The Beast?????"
LOL!
-
Wait how was I negative? That was about Cedar Point, it doesn't count!
Water Park staff was awesome today. And they even re-profiled the body slides Down Under Thunder (which have been awful in the past)They no longer are filled with fiberglass splinters of death! They have moved to the enclosed twisting bodyslides, Aussie Twister. No way in HELL should "awesome" be in the name.
Oh, and Paul is the best Beast operator.
-
KI employees are a helluva lot better than the ones at Cedar Point. Agreed it is looking nicer, but I do feel Cedar Fair is turning into the old, crappy Six Flags, and SF is turning into the older, nicer Cedar Fair.
You weren't at Cedar Point opening day to see the changes and the differences there too.
With Raptor, Disaster Transport, Maverick, TTD (because of rain), Gemini Blue, Gemini Red, Wildcat, Woodstock Express, and even MF down (until 1PM); I had PLENTY of time to look around notice the 'differences' there this year. The best addition of the 2010 season was the beautiful smoking area near the paddleboat tours!
I love waiting in line for MF for 2.5 hours in the rain with a one train op. They didn't even bother to tell us it broke down three times while in line.
KI tells you when the ride breaks down, and also has employees out when a ride is closed.

A good coaster shouldn't mean that you have to ride it in a certain seat.
I'm for this, because people don't know where to stand when lining up for the seats. People tend to sit on the rails 10ft behind them and say, "OH WAIT I'M WAITING THERE LOL" when you try to queue up. It gets SUPER congested.
Again, a good coaster shouldn't mean that you have to ride it in a certain seat! Especially at a certain time of day cough cough.
