I used to go to The Beach with my swim team every summer and it was always a blast. The endless lazy river policy there is far superior to Boomerang Bay. The overall quality of the rides is much better as well, IMO. Aztec Adventure is a must ride.

Holy Ruined Ride, Batman!
padfoot714 replied to CedarPointer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My friends and I affectionately call this ride "Disaster Theming" because we've always found the whole atmosphere of the queue to be cheesy, cheap, and contrived. I wish I'd had the opportunity to ride it when it was still an open air ride instead of in the dark with the stupid 3-D gimmick. -
This is by far the best response. I'm tempted to do that myself. Typically I will quietly wander away from my group and let them get harassed and then I rejoin them afterwards.

What would the purpose of an x-base pathway be? It really wouldn't save guests traveling between the two areas that much time plus it would be bizarre to have such a long stretch of essentially empty path. I think a "new" flat from GL is more likely (there are still some left aren't there?)

Just based on the renderings from the website, I'm guessing the restraints will be similar to MForce and TTD at CP. Based on your avatar my estimate would be that you'll be OK.

Is this structure in the background with the dark red roof new? Perhaps the new entrance actually takes you around the right side of the old drink stand?
-
I used to have nightmares about my restraint failing on The Vortex while upside-down. I always managed to stay in my seat though.

I don't understand why everyone is so worked up about this. I don't think the writer was trying to insult the park at all. By "old" I think he/she was trying to imply "classic" NOT "worn down" or "out of date." In comparison to Cedar Point I think I would have to agree with that assessment. Coney Mall definitely has a classic theme park feel to it and Cedar Point doesn't really have anything that compares to that. Also, the "article" is so short that I don't think its worth reading that much into it.

KI Adds Operating Days in Sept and BRING A FRIEND DISCOUNTS

I remember back in the day when rides like FD and AE were brand new and waiting for more than an hour was fairly typical. I remember being so excited to ride those rides when they were new. That's probably why I still get so much enjoyment out of them today. -
Unless you have a six figure income I wouldn't worry too much about your taxes going up if a "particular" candidate ends up in the White House. Besides, if you are making six figures a year then I don't think the relatively small expenditure of a season pass is going to trouble you all that much.

I would reconsider pushing back the waterpark if I were you. It usually gets crowded and stays that way until closing between 12pm and 1pm. Going right when it opens is a great way to ride everything and avoid the long lines. I also highly recommend Jackaroo landing for both kids. You could probably end up spending all your waterpark time there. For food, I would actually recommend some of the chain restaurants located in the park (Subway, Skyline, La Rosa's). I generally find them to be higher quality. Outer Hanks is probably the only non-chain place I would go. One ride that I haven't seen mentioned yet as a good starter coaster for the older kid is Adventure Express. Depending on how he reacts to seeing the rides this might be a good one to try because he won't be able to see any of it. I used this one to trick my little brother into liking roller coasters during his first summer of being the magic height.

From what I know, the old Safari Area is now occupied by Flight Deck and Son of Beast. http://www.coastergallery.com/2000/pki68.html Kings Island seemed Pretty boxed-in when I went. The only "New Section" expansion options I saw were X-Base, Removing the Crypt, and Removing Boomerang Bay. X-Base seems to have a Boatload of potential, (Cough B&M Floorless Cough), but those Ass ugly sheds have got to go. And my ride on The Beast and Snowy River Rampage Showed me that it would be extremely difficult to build back there. You'd better rethink that one unless you want the coasters to go into disrepair. Also, they aren't that ugly since the new paint jobs.

Where are the SOB getting Villian's trains threads?!
padfoot714 replied to tigellinus's topic in Rumors
They wont get it, there getting thunderhawk this year. No way they will get 2 coasters in one year especially in a small park like that Geauga Lake had 4 in one year when Six Flags took over. (Or maybe it was 3. Regardless, at least 4 in 2 years.) Yeah and that's one of the biggest reasons the park is now dead. SF overdeveloped it in order to try to compete with CP. It obviously was a bad idea and CF is foolish if they don't learn from this mistake. As for the Villian rumors, I really hope it isn't coming to KI. I did not enjoy my ride on it at all when I was at GL in 2006.
