On that note, another thing you can do is to teach your children how to defend themselves against someone who might want to harm them. I fully think my 9 year old ( 2 1/2 years of martial arts training ) would know what to do if someone tried to take them. But, be that as it May, *I* would never let them go totally unattended at a place either. The other night I was at the park, had 1 child on the kiddie bumper cars, give the older 2 a call phone, and the walked the sort distance to The Beastie ti ride it and come back (9 and 7 yo). I would have been over there before the ride was over, but for the fact there was an issue with kids jumping out of the bumper cars. I watched them the whole time they walked to the entrance and up the ramp to the ride. I also teach my children at every park we go to, exactly where to go if they get into trouble (I have a child who has a speech delay, so this is something we always did at an early age with him and with the others as well). They know if they get lost/separated to go to Child Care by the Kids are if we are up that way, and if not to go find the closest ride op and tell them.

We plan on sharing one wristband at each visit, but then again, we generally do not drink Soda, just Water when at the park. So, as I see it, if I am only using it for a couple of drinks while we are there, I am not abusing the system. Further, it would most likely be my husband who is drinking them, and maybe the kids and I taking a few drinks (or the kids sharing one between themselves). On the other hand, people who drink nothing but soda for the entire visit and get as many cups or more in an hour as we would in the day (like 3-4) and then share those with their friends would probably be abusing the system.

I know something else you can do for the internet community. Stop posting. I'm out of likes. But you, sir, would have another. I did it for you!!!!

I don't think I am reading this right. I have the offer of half off a Fast Lane pass. Can I buy one for me and the other for my girlfriend while only using the pass once? I was thinking it would just be half off for me and then full price for my gf. $25 for me and maybe down to $45 for my gf since we are buying two at the same time... IDK can someone that has used this coupon tell me how it works. Thanks in advance. In order to redeem it for yourself AND your GF, you have to have 2 of these available, one for each of you. Once you reach level 2, you get your choice of 2 level 2 rewards -- and you can redeem them both for the same thing (ie 2 50% off Fast Lane passes).

Yes, I do...It is just a slip of receipt paper and it has either a perk or a message to go sign up for the perks.

Trust me, it is easy for a child to "slip" away, I have had it happen before (but not at an amusement park). But it is also why I always on the youngest two, put the kid track wristbands on them, as the oldest two can give out their phone numbers. It is one of the reasons I have always been so hesitant to take 4 children (youngest just turned 2, eldest just turned 9) by myself to KI. All it would take would be for me to be putting the 2 year old in the stroller and I can see my 4 year old not waiting to wait to go to the ride a few feet away and running ahead and getting mixed up in the ride line to where I wouldn't be able to see her. The other biggest problem is that people are inconsiderate and don't care they walk between a parent and their children. I have had it happen at the store and the park. I will have my kids walking with me while pushing a stroller or shopping cart, and people will just step between you and your child because they don't want to wait for you to pass through. There have been times I have had to physically stop and wait for the person to traverse the path in front of me, separating me from one of my kids because they were walking slightly in front of (ie maybe 1-2 feet) of the stroller. Now they have gotten to be about 8-10 feet away and depending upon how many people are cutting through, might even loose visual contact for a second or two.

Also, they will refill previous years souv. cups, at least at the $1.99 price last year. I have not tried this year, as we have just drank water...using the previous years cups. BTW - Anyone know where to redeem the wristband from the funperks thing now? When we were there Sunday, there was no table set up by processing to do it.
-
The drinking water is also another huge reason we have not used any of our 5 free drink wristbands from funperks registration yet. We go through about 2-3 refills of water in our souv. cups a day per cup.

We now have the kids and I 3 visits each, hubby 2 visits, purchases: 1st visit - cotton candy bucket refill ($2.12) 2nd visit - popcorn bucket refill ($2.12) (need to see if this one even was registered, as I didn't get any sort of printed up slip to even mention go register) 3rd visit - cotton candy bucket refill ($2.12) and cheese & bacon fries ($6.91) As someone else mentioned have not even used a single one of our 5 drink wrist bands since we are usually only there right now for 3 hours or less...will wait till we do a longer day. We have gotten nothing as far as I am aware. I would love to get the $9.99 passes, I have someone who wants to take his daughter, but is a little low on cash, so I am going to use it to help him out.

No clue if you need to be season passholder or not. It is just advertised along on the signs about many places, although some lady was told it was only season passholders others have just purchased them without questions.

Last minute trip 6/8 (1 adult 4 young children)
khaoskat replied to khaoskat's topic in Trip Reports
Thanks Terp!!!! Ah yes, my youngest (just turned 2 about 3 weeks ago) loved the Beetles ride, so much so that I had to use my cell phone to capture his gleeful cackles and smiles on video!!!! My daughter calls them the lady bug ride, took us 2 weeks to figure out what ride she was wanting to ride, but I did it Friday night. Cannot wait for another chance to take the kids (even if hubby comes) at night. They thought it was cool for the lights and are going to dig up their 3D glasses. -
Hubby got a chance to do some extra work last night in the area, so I packed us all up, dropped him off and we spent about 2 hours in the park. Had a great...got in the park about 8:30 and headed to the kids area. 2 of them rode the swings; then daughter went to the bumper cars while the two eldest boys went to Woodstock Express. After 2 stops of the bumper cars, daughter finally got a full ride time on it. From there to the kids old fashioned cars where the youngest 3 rode. Then off to the little blue train where eldest two rode that while the youngest two rode the beetles (X3) back to back. Then we headed over to Dodgem so eldest could ride one of the big kids rides...watched the fireworks and headed back to the front of the park and to our car. It was an awesome time, the kids had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed the chance to see the park at night (took in the sights of the lights as we wandered from the kids are to dodgem.!!!!

I just saw this also, 15% of Skyline purchase and BOGO on Hotdogs. BTW --- PR Guy, you might want to have someone double check the FAQ page on funperks, there is contradictory information...Under who is eligible, it states even if you purchase/process a Platinum Pass at another park after your first visit to KI you can use it to earn/redeem Funperk rewards. But under the FAQ that specifically asks about Platinum Passes from another park, the answer is NO, only KI purchased/processed passes work.... For those who have purchases that they believe were missed for purposes of earning points on funperks...under the FAQ there is a question with a link about missed purchases. You just need your receipt. Now a question I have to ask. I was at the park this evening, and I handed the guy my pass to scan for funperks. I didn't get any type of funperks receipt with it, just a normal receipt. I know he used the barcode reader to scan my pass (ie the little light wand thing)...or are they supposed to swipe the pass. Last time we visited, even though we didn't get an "instant" perk, we did get something to at least say "register at funperks.com"...

Take a walk to GWL...pull up a chair or piece of sofa. You have AC, and they are comfortable enough to sleep in.
-
If you want, you could always just go Platinum to get the Gold Benefits....

@Rotag --- your post about seeing your car made me remember the first time I rode Gemini at CP with my son. We did actually see our car and pointed it out to each other....*ahh* how I miss that van, 1000 lashings with a wet noodle to the lady who totaled it on me.
-
Now on the other hand, CP's Halloween event is kid friendly. Their haunts open around 3 pm for indoors and I think around 7 pm for outdoors (and I believe they had some open on Sunday as well). If you go through a "haunt" with a child they tone it down to a kid friendly level and then scare the crap out of the people walking immediately behind you. I took my then 6 year old through blood on the bayou last year (he wanted to go)...he laughed hysterically through it...but the guests behind us started running in front of us or standing right with us.

maybe if you just visit you need lots of visits before leveling up.
-
Ok, from the couple of people I have seen who have mentioned leveling up, they have all spent approximately $100 - $150 and it seems to be about 3-4 visits.
-
Another nice feature would be to give you an idea of how much you have spent in the park, so you could track to make sure your purchases are getting added. I know they show/track your visits, but they do not show your spending...
-
Well, that sucks. They have now taken out 1 few coasters I can get my son to ride, and now they are going to take out the other...when is Iron Dragon getting axed, so my son has nothing left. We also loved the space spiral. I love to get up and look out, but not a huge fan of the open air ones like the ferris wheel and the sky ride. I have a very young child that loves to climb and prefer something more "enclosed" with him...

How about a Gib Slap!!!!!
-
lol Sounds like a challenge...time to break out the Excel spreadsheet compiling into an Access database to see if a trend can be established! lol...enjoy the challenge.
-
Gesh...must take a lot to level up....we usually do not spend a lot in the park...as a matter of fact, we only spent $2.12 today (a refill of cotton candy)...it was too hot for anything more than water.

No clue, I do not know where the freestyle machines are. The only two stands I went to physically today were the ones mentioned earlier.
