  1. Wow, if you have gotten banned from the FB page, you must have done something horrible...
  2. Markr - instant rewards will sometimes print out when you make a purchase and you don't have to do anything except redeem them and they don't count against the perks you earn on-line to print and redeem. Advancing to the next level gives you additional perks. Like when I got to a certain point (about the 85%) I got the ability to bring a friend for $10, free popcorn, free cotton candy, free ride on thunder alley. When I went to level 2, I got to choose a second one of the level 1 perks and 2 level 2 perks. As I have advanced through level 2, (again around the 85%) I have gotten more rewards to select from, and the ability to select a second reward from level 2 rewards. I have not advanced to level 3, but I think after my next visit and popcorn and cotton candy refill I will advance or be really, really, really close. No clue what the level 3 perks are or level 4, as I don't think anyone has really posted a list of them. Interest in things kind of died out around mid June.
  3. Again, try going to the fun perks booth. They were very helpful when I did.
  4. My eldest is not quite up to ride TTD yet. His rides at CP include: Mine Ride, Magnum, Corkscrew (both my oldest two rode it for the first time); Blue streak; Jr. Gemini; Woodstock Express, Gemini, DT, Iron Dragon, Wild Mouse. Wow, just realized my eldest has ridden 10 of the roller coasters at CP. I hope they have Mean Streak open this fall, but from what they are saying on point buzz, it is going to be closed and used for a haunted attraction, so we can ride it. I think I want to start looking at Maverick as well for him. I am not sure how he would do on the stand up coaster...
  5. I took pictures of DT too. From the parking lot you can see the whole back part ripped off including the begining of the lift hill was taken off. I want to upload them so bad but I need to figure out how. Also, I went just yesterday too. Nothing looked like it had happen so the pictures would still be up-to-date. We went to Goofy-Golf so we decided to stop and ride somthing at CP, I rode Raptor for the first time because the line was always too long for it. The lined moved alot. It was a 50 minute (I didnt feel like it) wait but an awesome ride! I got some cool pics from the skyride across the park of DT being torn down. Also got a picture of someone on a lift truck peeling things off the outside of the tubes). Were there really track still inside the building, it looked empty to me...but then I was snuggling with my daughter on the ride there and back.
  6. Based off of my calculations (what I have previously spent in the park): level one to level two was about 1%=$1 Level 2 to level 3 1%= $1.50-$2 Level 3 to level 4 1%=$2-$3 Now that is just a guess not that i know anything. But my experience for sure is that the more you spend the more rewards or progress you make. That would be the logical guess as they advertise on their funperks website: The more you spend the more you earn... I could be wrong though... Interesting, as I stated above, I checked my funperks account the other day while at the park. After a $2.12 purchase my level 2-3 went up 3.5%. Again, remember there are 2 components to advancing --- visits and money spent. I think you need about 4-5 visits per level.. Also, they state the once you reach your next level (ie from 1-2; 2-3; 3-4) that you will earn rewards faster, that you get more credit for what you spend, so your theory is reverse of what they are advertising.
  7. Not sure what level you are trying to go from and to, but have you thought that while yes, you may have spent enough money at your current level, you may not have enough visits established to advance. I am working on going from 2 to 3 star and what I have found is that right now I get more progress from my visit being registered than I do my nominal $2.12 purchases (like visit gives me 12% increase while a $2.12 purchase gives me a 3.5% increase). So, while you may have spent enough for the level you are looking at, you may need more visits...it takes both a certain amount of money spent and certain amount of visits. My kids have visited about 6-7 times (depending upon which child, since hubby and I took the youngest two while the older two were at summer camp for a week), they have been at 50% since about 4-5 visits and have not moved above that 50% mark. We are working each card (and we have 5 people on funperks) up to at least level 3 for the adults before going for the kids.... Remember, we figured it takes about $50-$80 in spending and about 4 visits to get to level 2. My hypothesis previously about it taking 10 visits with no money spent is not correct. I think going to level 3 from level 2 you will need about 8 visits and about $150 total spent in the park (kind of based upon what we have spent on mine - one $40 meal purchase at the Rivertown Junction, about 10-15 popcorn/cotton candy bucket refills, about $5 in candy).
  8. Not being cynical, but did you try going directly to the Funperks booth located inside the park (where they used to have the rentals for wheelchairs and strollers a few years ago)? When we went last time, and one of the places had their scanners not working, we took our receipt there and they credited it right to our account (after checking to make sure it hadn't already been credited). I think those employees are specially trained in the fun perks program, and would be your best bet. I asked a funperks question inside guest relations and kind of got some blank stares. What irks me though is that it says "eat, play, buy", but yet when you play games in the park (which is what I equate to the "play more") you don't get any credit on your fun perks account. We would be higher levels, since we let the kids each play a game or two each visit, if they would count those.
  9. Due to family related matters we didn't get to CP until almost 8 pm Monday. Took the kids in and went and enjoyed a ride on Dodgems with the 3 oldest while hubby took the youngest to PS. Hit PS with the oldest 3 for a ride or two or three on Tea Cups, then went to ride blue streak and the Cadies with the kids. We watched the fireworks while driving the cars. Even though we were only in the park for a short time, it was fun for all. Tuesday - Wow, it rained a lot in the morning, so we opted to hang in the hotel and watch and wait till it calmed down. We headed to Sam's Club and got a few snacks and some lunch. By the time we were done, it had cleared out and we headed to the Park. We started in CS and made our way towards Jr Gemini area. Once we got down to the end of CS, hubby took the youngest three and I took the oldest and we went to ride Gemini, which was basically a walk on. We then headed up to Jr. Gemini area. My daughter has not road a coaster at CP yet, and after a recent car accident has become fearful of things. They rode a lot in the Jr. Gemini area, and had fun. I finally convinced her to ride Jr. Gemini, but I was to big to ride with her, so she did it on her own and LOVED IT!!!!! After a while we headed down the Gemini walk towards the front of the park. We hopped on Old Fashioned Cars, Cedar Point Mine Ride and a few other things, including Iron Dragon and ended in Camp Snoopy. We then headed out to get something to eat and let the youngest two nap for a bit. After dinner we were back, and headed to the front of the park to the Midway area, where the kids played in the kids area and rode rides there till close. TTD was down hard for mechanical reasons, so they moved it to Millie. Wednesday the park was packed, so we didn't get much riding, did a lot in the kids areas, and rode the carousel in the front of the park and the sky way. Got to see and take pics of them tearing down Disaster Transport. A fence mysteriously appeared over night blocking of the Spiral and Troika and DT in that section. Going across the skyway you could see how much they had already tore down, which was a huge amount of it. I am not sure if they are trying to save parts but they were manually taking down the outdoor tunnels for tracks while demolishing the main building, which was empty of track as far as I could see. We spent several hours in the waterpark. The youngest three played in the kids area, while the oldest and I went riding the lazy rivers and water slides. When we saw a storm threatening to come in, we opted to go ahead and make our way out and get dinner at Midway Market, so we could beat the rush to use the changing areas. Water park was fairly empty and the longest wait was maybe 5-10 minutes for the water slides. While we were eating, actually getting ready to finish up, the storm hit big and hard and you could see/watch the mass exodus from the park. We waiting till it ended while finishing eating and the youngest woke up and had some food as well since we were waiting for the rain to stop. We then made our way to the back of the park and our car to head back home. While we were walking back we got to watch them test all the coasters in the areas. Unfortunately the rain must have done something to Magnum, as it got stuck not once, but twice. The first time a car was heading into the station, the second time (with it being at least 15-20 minutes stuck) the car was almost to the top of the 1st lift hill. We actually saw employees walking around the car that was stuck on the hill, but no clue what happened to them or how long they were stuck like that, other than at least 15-20 minutes (the time it took us to walk to the car from the Subway area bathroom and get everyone loaded in and head out). Family had a great time and cannot wait to go back again. BTW - the Days Inn Milan was a decent hotel, friendly staff and good breakfast for the money. Only disadvantage was the beds were tiny!!!!
  10. Interesting. My previous perks at level 2 did not include $10 off a pass for next year. Today they now have that as an option...
  11. http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/oh_erie/cedar-point-amusement-park-to-reveal-secret-for-2013-season-monday Cool beans..and the first 200 get a free t-shirt. That is the first day of our trip to CP. Hope we make it in time for the official announcement!!!
  12. I was at the Coney Mall candy store and she seemed a bit upset I asked for my receipt. She had a huge tape full of receipts coming from her register. After handing me mine, she scanned through the entire thing of them before throwing them away.
  13. BTW - if you are at the park, and a place has their scanners down/broke, if you stop by the fun perks booth at the front of the park, they can add your points right there for you. On that note..spending $2.12 for popcorn; $2.12 for cotton candy; and $1.38 plus visit brought up another 15% towards level 3.
  14. Speaking of "snacks", who else (members of KIC and/or their friends) at the park Saturday when they went to get drinks got a line about the place being out of ice (mostly in/close to PS)? We went to the popcorn/cotton candy snack place by Kite eating tree around 7:30 and they were out of ice. Around 10 pm the little snack shop at the back of PS by the stage was out of ice. The little stand about 10:30 pm on International Street close by Starbucks was almost out of ice. People were walking away disgusted that they couldn't get an "ice" cold drink. Is this a common occurrence on Saturdays? This was the first time we have gone on a Saturday all year, and we got to the toll booth about 7 pm.
  15. Maybe the poor person making the order had developed a nasty headache and was not able to go home. Maybe their back was killing them and moving fast was just not possible due to the pain. While I generally agree, waiting long period of time in the park is not what I want, but we do not always know the circumstances going on. I was upset I couldn't get anything to drink the night we redeemed our wrist band, but didn't take it out on the employees. I was waiting behind 2 or 3 people and it was taking 15-20 mins. Nor did I complain to management about it, it was a slow night so they had closed down a lot of stuff. On the other hand, we had good service at the Buffet, the only thing I made a suggest to guest services on was that they needed smaller lidded cups for younger children, as my son had spilled his entire drink trying to drink out of an "adult" cup from there. But the waitress was awesome about it, and they got it cleaned up right away.
  16. I think in the case from scratch means it has not been sitting already made and ready to put on the counter the instant it is ordered. Whereas prepared means that it has been sitting on a counter (hopefully under a heat lamp if it is supposed to be hot). Hmm...think of it this way... You order a Coke. Do you want a Coke that is pulled from the fountain when you order it (ie made from scratch), or do you want that Coke that was pre-poured a while ago that has been sitting around waiting for someone to order a Coke?
  17. Thanks, I think they were wanting to go while we were planning on being at Cedar Point, that is why I was asking if we needed to be there.
  18. Thanks, Do I have to be there when they are redeemed or can I just give them to my friend (coupons/vouchers that is) to use.
  19. Have any of you guys used your rewards to get the tickets for your friends? I have two friends who want to go, and want to use them, but how far in advance can I purchase the tickets for them? Also, are the tickets good during Haunt in case they are not able to take advantage of them before the end of summer? I know I can e-mail them, but last time I sent an e-mail asking questions I never got a response from them, hence the reason I thought I would ask here. Thanks
  20. Did you get a receipt for the shorts? It should say funperks transaction if it went thru, if it does not then it more then likey didn't go thru. Yes, I have the receipt. I will dig it out of my purse and look at it in a bit. I don't recall anything on it about fun perks though when I looked, but will double check.
  21. We were there about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and man it was like pulling teeth to get drinks. About 1/2 the places I would normally go were closed. Since we had the wristband, it was even harder. Between Planet Snoopy and International Street, The blue ice cream place was open, the popcorn/cotton candy place were open; Chick Fil A wouldn't take the wrist band; fudge shop wouldn't take wristband (Coke Freestyle machine), drink stand under tower was closed, the pretzel place was closed, the funnel cake place was slower than a 7 year itch (about 15 minute wait with the employees running around clueless about who ordered what and where)....The best place I was able to get a refill was in Skyline (went in there and was able to get 3 drinks w/o hardly any wait). We still have four drink wristbands, but man, if that is what it takes to get a drink with it, not sure I will use it again.
  22. Medford - I noticed when I was there Tuesday night, prior to the visit I was at 52% of the way to 3 star. After logging my visit, redeeming a drink wristband (my daughters), and we purchased a popcorn refill and redeemed an instant reward for cotton candy, I was at 67% of the way to level 3. After that we purchased a pair of shorts at the store with tax just shy of $16, and there was no advancement. I also noticed when I did that, that I didn't even get the print out showing what level I was and recommending registering your card (ie the instant reward ticket with no reward). I have been checking the last couple of days, and I am still at 67%. I wonder if my purchase didn't get counted.
  23. I think it would be cool if they offered a chance for a last tour of SOB before it is gone for good. I had not road it since they took the loop out. Actually, my family came to the park the day that they had the huge accident. We had no clue what was going on, we just saw the park ambulance from the water park heading over towards SOB (along with some of the lifeguards who were not needed). We also saw some of the Mason ambulances coming in as well. We got to the park right after it happened (we went to Soak City with the kids and not the main park). A last chance to get a few photos would be great.
  24. Whenever we have been back that way this year (on Sundays), I have not seen anyone in line or walking back to the Action Theater, nor have I seen people walk into Dino Alive. Now for all that being said and done. The only reason we went through it last year, is it was the only way for the kids to participate in the trick or treating in the park. I am sure we will see a huge crowd at it this fall during Haunt for the exact same reason.
  25. I just logged in and noticed it looks totally different. Come to find out, you can click on Activity and it tells you how close you are to the next reward level. If you are not spending money in the park, it is going to take about 10 visits to get to Level 2.
