  1. Wow, I must have missed the announcement they were tearing it down, but I guess with good reason. Wonder if they will replace it?
  2. What is up with The Vortex sinking rumor? My brother heard that when he rode it last summer with a lady she said that it was sinking and that they were tearing it down at the end of the season. (never happened)

    eek! Top gun!

I'd rather them get rid of Flight of Fear than Top Gun, personally! I have never had problems on it. If they were to take it down, I'd say they make it more like the one at Carowinds where it goes upside down. (Inverted) FOF on the other hand, thats a whole new story for me. Its worse than SOB to me, and I have been on SOB with and without the loop, and FOF is still worse.
  4. Well I have not been on Drop Zone since 2000, because it wasn't open last summer. But its in the plans to go on it. I am not scared of it, its just the safety issue in a sense, but I believe it is safer than it was back the first time I went on it. I swear if I can do the one at Cedar Point, I can go on any Drop Zone out there. The ones at CP are scarier if you ask me, especially the shooting up one! hehehe Invertigo, the only time I went on that I was sitting in the front (even last year summer) and I really wanted to ride it where everyone I was with we were facing each other. Sitting in the front, I felt like I was going to fall out.
  5. I have been on Drop Zone numerous times at KI, Carowinds....etc, but since last year's accident at Six Flags, is why I probably won't go again, Rumor.
  6. Are there any rides that you will not currently go on? For me, I think Drop Zone (w/e its called) is the key one I have ?'s about going on since what happened last summer, but I think its safer to go on than it was last summer before that accident happened at Six Flags. Flight of Fear....the one that I feared going on again after going on it in 2000 and seeing some one walk off there and said they couldn't move their neck. Rode it last summer, wasn't too bad, but still jerky...but at least your head isn't banging against the restraints. Son of Beast is alot better to me since they took the loop out. Thats just my sayings on some of the key rides people are no longer going on.
  7. I was going to say when we did the choir competition down there, there were choirs from all over, but the weather was crappy the days we seem to have gone...so it was basically just the groups, but it can be pretty crowded.
  8. Seeing pictures of King Cobra brings back memories. I remember the first time riding it and remembering (back before I had boobs) how they wrapped around you like a snake wraps around your body. I mean literally the the 2 harness things touched in the middle...hah! Didn't the last time I rode it, but I loved that ride.
  9. Guess I will have to take 2 different suits with me and find out! HAH!
  10. But now it appears we are going to do KI instead of both parks and with KI we can do the water park and the park all together....but what the heck is this think about restrictions on the water slides....Suits with snaps, zippers, buttons, and rivets I get what snaps, zippers and buttons...but what the heck is a rivet?! I have a keyhole bathing suit, where you have the little thing that connects on the back, and it has never come out on me at any point...but never heard of a rivet!
  11. Brown- glad you find my topic names hilarious! Ok OK! I will stop asking about the height and restraints I get its for height and not for weight on the unpaid rides. I was told at KI I wasn't tall enough to go on Extreme Flyer (the bungee like thing there) and my ex sis in law's friend went with them instead...whatever there. They told me at where you pay I was fine to go. Hmmm to that....wouldn't do it anyways. HAH!
  12. My darling niece, as I have mentioned before, could be in the 48" range when we go....I know for me and my brother and everyone else that the G-Force out of your seat feeling isn't as big as it will be on a young child... I would NOT get on Skyhawk....I personally don't like how you're strapped in and I see that is on the 48" or taller list. Question is, IF she would go on this (just over 40lb) would that keep her down?????? It doesn't look like it would to me, but then again I am probably going off the weight and not that the rides are designed with the height restriction. Also on Magnum....I can't remember if the seatbelt is for both people or its one a piece.... Thanks!
  13. Don't dread that!! Just look forward to one more person to ride with!!! HAH! She may be tall enough, but if went by weight she never get on a ride out of kiddy land! But I told my brother already that he was going to have the honor to take her on the rides first....I'll go 2nd.
  14. Flight of Fear for me was jerkier than SOB. I rode it the one of the few times they were open in 2000 with the loop and it wasn't all that bad to me. Last summer without it, FOF was still jerkier for me.
  15. I'm sorry if you all thought I meant is it cleaner, I wasn't thinking along those lines. I guess I should've been more specific, sorry.
  16. Wow that has changed since I got them. The summers I had them they were good to all of the parks. Glad I found that out now and not when we are trying to get in and have to pay full price!
  17. You guys that were tall enough at 7 to go the bigger rides are making me dread my niece going next month. My brother says she's going to be very close when we go. EEK!
  18. We are actually looking at getting 4 season passes (they have a deal going on right now where you get 4 for 59.95) and I haven't had one in YEARS but at whatever level pass you buy, you can get into any Cedar Fair park correct?
  19. I didn't know its grammar board. But all I wanted to know was how big the crowds are during the week vs. the weekend at Kings Island.
  20. Last time I went to KI we went on a Thursday and the crowds weren't too bad. CP on the other hand I went on a weekend and it was crazily crowded. My brother won't PICK a week in June, it looks like the last week of June. I know when I went to Carowinds, it wasn't crowded on the weekdays, but curious are they worse at KI on the weekends or is it better to go like in the middle of the week?
  21. Wood: The Beast & Racer Steel: Vortex Flat: Drop Tower (If thats what Flat means) Kiddie Ride: Fairy Odd Parents
  22. clb- my aunt talked the ride attendant at Carowinds to do the same thing with me when I was a quarter of inch under and gave him this sob story about how we have been doing this every year and he finally let me on!
  23. I was told that The Racer was shut down because 2 people were thrown out of the train??????? Is The Racer open this year?
  24. My best friend and I are planning out our trip to KI with my bro, niece and my bro's g/f and she brought up what was my first coaster I went on at Kings Island. For me, literally it was Vortex, even though I have gone to KI all the time as a kid, I never would ride the rides. The same friend, my parents and I all went to the park and literally it was the first thing we went on. I thought that it seated 4 people across and I was like dad will you ride with us. I was scared to death! Only to find out it was 2 to a row and so my dad got out of line at the sign. My friend was going on and on about the ride and how she had been on it before and it was going to be awesome. We got up to the station and we were next to go in the middle and then they asked for 2 people to come with them because there was an open row. UGH! We went from being in the middle to being in the dead front. I was scared out of my mind! We made it to the top of the hill and my friend goes "Cortney, I have never been on this before!" And down the hill we went both of us screaming our heads off! I went from being fearful of roller coasters to loving them! What was your first coaster at Kings Island outside of kiddy land? (kiddy land- mine was the Junior Beast)
  25. I can do Drop Zone at both CP and KI no problem...whatever its called at CP. I love the shooting up one better than the come down one. With those I count to 10 and you are down....its not too bad...I just look straight out on them and not down. All though I am probably not going on them with what happened last summer with that girl; but they are probably safer now than they were years ago. Hah! You all want a roll-back?! Why don't you go when I go and maybe you will be on the train with me when it will do it again! What are the chances of it doing it twice in a row, let alone one time! LOL
