Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Beast1979 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I bet that would be the entrance or exit area. The other area would probably go under the Transfer track area. -
Classic Liturature? As in Shakespere? Ohh that would be fantastic!
-
I've heard some crazy things going around! Diamondback is a no-brainer, but I've heard wild things like Vortex Finally being removed, The Beast's entrance not only being redone but the entire Beast area getting a complete make over, I've heard the train is going to be revived and revamped, and even some say the retheme of Nick U will take place this offseason instead of next! Only Time Will Tell......

I would enjoy an actual show that they don't sing in every 4 seconds. Not that I don't enjoy musicalls I just would like something else.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Beast1979 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
So YOU were the ones crawling around Diamondback yesterday! I was wondering who it was when I got off The Beast! -
Viva La BEAST! At Least 30 laps on it.
-
I'm kinda anxious to see the new entrance, but the fact that you can't walk under the helix kinda dissapoints me.
-
Gotta sit in the Right side. Most Lats on the helix.
-
So does every coaster. The Beast twists and turns through the woods and has a wicked double helix!
-
Beast is hardly what I'd consider an Out and Back.

So you're wondering why I'm doing another. Well last week was planned to be the last trip but my Mom decided not to go to the Bengals game today (Who FINALLY got a Win!) so I got one more fix! We left the house at 1:30, err, 12:30 (Darn Time Change) and got to the Island at about 12:45. Just like last time the Gold Pass Parking was Packed and the guest parking was empty. Why? Don't ask me. But it seems it's for the best. I was dumbfounded by how HUGE Diamondback was. Literally towering over everything. Just like last week when we walked through security the man checking my mom's purse took forever searching everything. I told my mom that if they can't steel your purse the next best thing is to search it for a bomb. We entered and hooked left into Action Zone. Got an Invertigo walk-on across from 2 first time riders. That ride continues to surpass expectations being a Vekoma, but it still makes my feet hurt. Then we went on to Delerium. Why don't some people like this ride? It was amazingly fun swinging through the air, facing the sky and looking strait down. Walking through the 2 acres known as Oktoberfest we saw Viking Fury up and running again. And, along with it, the screaming contest. I wanted them to be quiet so they wouldn't disturb the skeletons fishing! I think those fisheys were hungrier then them. Onto Adventure Express. I love this ride so much. Why some people hate it I'll never know. Maybe it's the same deal as The Racer Haters. You gotta look in multiple dimensions and see the fun of it, and the ride's exelent theme was enhanced by the beautiful turning trees. By now you probably have a good idea of the route I'm taking. Into the "Coney Maul" and onto the Red Racer. I waited one train and got on in the middle row of some car. It yet again gave a smooth and airtime filled ride. I love this ride and I hope it lives double it's current life. Going into X-Base I had plans to devote for Firehawk but for some reason it was having difficulties and it closed as I walked up. No matter, Flight of Fear awaits. I'm not at all dissapointed with the theming job in that ride, well done and very appropriate. The soundtracks in the station are great. "You think YOU are Studying US? Then kindly explain why you're the ones, TRAPPED IN YOUR SEAT!" It cracks me up. They released the train and I prepared for a loud noise but it never came! In place, a gentle roar took appeared. I guess I'm just used to it! The Launch is definately the best part of the ride. In my honest opinion, it rivals that of Top Thrill Dragster. WHAT you say? Well, with Top Thrill Dragster as it is much more intense, Flight of Fear's is much more sudden and you fly through a pitch-black tunnel! If it wasn't for the fact that Top Thrill Dragster was 400 feet high Flight of Fear would be placed higher in my ranking. I skipped Vortex. I'm sorry Vortex fans but this has just become to much of a pain. The only reason I would shed a tear if this got removed was because it made for excellent photos. But if it were to be replaced by a mega B&M Floorless similar to that of Dominator then that tear would quickly be replaced with a giant grin. After leaving the Coney Mall it's into the Snakes Den. But this snake doesn't hide it's presence in the least bit! Diamondback stood tall, very tall, over us Davids. I hadn't felt this small since the Son of Beast walkback tour. The ride really is taking shape, it's completed lift hill dominating with absolute beauty and providing many images and daydreams of numerous future summer days spending all day riding over and over and over. But right as your grin reaches ear to ear you turn your head to the left and your heart does a Dow-Jones. The Beast's once promanant entrance plaza with trees providing shade and a sense of hiding for The Beast and signs boasting it's legendary history was reduced to nothing more then several piles of dirt. For me, seeing your baby in such a state just hurts on the inside. But, I keep hope and beared in mind that this was for the best. And those trees would likely be replanted anyway. Into The Beast's layer Ride Warrior Sir Jackson of Montgomery promanantly truged through, ready to face the terror of the creature known only as, The Beast. This was not Jackson's first encounter with this horror, in fact this would be his almost 350th time. He lost count. Jackson decided to take this monstrosity from an angle he rarely used, the last car. He ploped his body in the second row of the sixth car of the second train and they were off. I love how The Beast is designed, how it's themed, it's all beautifully put it together. The slow turn out of the station lures guests into false security and it's unnaturally slow chain gives you time to watch civilazation leave you behind. The pacing of the ride is fantastic and the helix fanally is amazing, especially in the right seat with the insane lateralls. I rode this baby twice in a row before moving on. Into the Crypt. I entered and walked in with no wait. I was surprised to see The Bat-creature still working after one week! So I waited. And Waited. And Waited. After 20 minutes of waiting I got angry. We all knew it was having technical difficulties but none of the ride operators told us anything. When we finally entered there were floodlights on and mantinence guys with flashlights. After a few seconds they turned the floodlights off and put the normal lights on. I was kinda scared to ride because I didn't want to get stuck upside-down! But we went through the ride as normal. After the Crypt we looped through Nick-U and found where everyone was! Then I went up in the ET. Then into Coney Maul and Red-Racer again, with no wait for any row except the front. Then into X-Base but both Firehawk and Flight of Fear had long waits. Into The Beast's layer for the last ride of the season. Two rides on The Beast is the best way possible to end the 2008 year. Walking out I stood infront of the Sign and looked at the Eiffel Tower, and waved goodbye. I'm gonna miss this year. So Long 2008! Thanks For Reading, Pictures coming soon.

Uhhh........ First off D-Back is a $22,000,000 investment, and because of a helix over that area that places is getting a bit of a makeover. -
Ryan keeps his hat on his head unless he feels something should be released.
-
Yea well plans changed. It was empty today!
-
Not my mom, she clings to me like alge on a boat. Not that thats a bad thing, just saying that some parents like their kids.....

Well if it's medium yesterday then today's a toss-up. But if this is any representation (Which it usually is) then it shouldn't be all to bad today:

So if lines were like that yesterday we can assume that today lines will be like..........
