  1. I don't remember seeing it there! I wish I had, I definitely would have ridden that for old time's sake. But, I had my second worst experience ever at a park at KK, and I swore I would never go back. (The worst experience was at LaSourdesville Lake). Zodiac always scared me too, but in a good way! I was always convinced that one of those chains holding us to the arm was going to break. Any sort of ferris wheel, zipper, skyride, etc. I always get nervous on. I have to sit absolutly still on them so they don't swing back and forth, but I ride them anyway for the thrill. But give me any coaster, DZ, TR:TR or Delirium type rides and I'm good to go!
  2. ^ Antiques was where IJST is now. The ferris wheel was right next to Festhaus, where Age & Weight is now.
  3. Sure, they have all those metro areas surrounding them, but I'm reminded of Idora Park. However, their situation was a little different where their main coaster, The Wildcat, was destroyed in a fire in 1984. They tried to operate without it, but closed the next year. If they had stayed open I wonder what they would have been like today. Unfortunate, another park closing. I wish I had the chance to visit Idora, my wife raves about going there as a kid. And last year, I was down the street from GL for a wedding, had I known that they would be closing a year and a half later, I would have definitely gone. http://www.defunctparks.com/parks/OH/Idora/idora.htm
  4. Ha, I know that song. So XGatorHead eat your words. (referring to another thread, "Tomb Raider to be removed") Mmmmm...words...yummy! And just think, your daughter won't play this for you every day!
  5. You're right. Looking back at recent posts, it looks like I'm the main culprit. Sorry everyone!
  6. Now I'm trying to interpret what The Interpreter has said. Does that make me the interpreter in this case? A paradox has just occured...
  7. ^ Uh, okay... And this has something to do with anything in this topic?
  8. So are most of the rides open during the day, and then after 7 only the following rides? Firehawk, Beast, Drop Zone, Delirum, Flight of Fear and Italian Job That is correct. Most rides open during the day, after 7 only those listed.
  9. ^ It's always better to go on a Sunday, especially once schools are back in session.
  10. Good trip report, love the pictures. Jasper, you misread his statement. He meant that the sight of the tram sitting there at the end of the day was a joke on the public, as it could have been running instead of sitting there as a decoration.
  11. ^ Agreed. With the high winds and dry conditions out there, people's homes and lives are and should be more of a concern than Magic Mountain, as much as it hurts to see the flames that close.
  12. The fire looks awfully close in this video... http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/ver/223/popup....php?cl=4650920
  13. Ooo, you're so close... "In a West End town, a dead end world The East End boys and West End girls" Thanks for playing... Close to what? And I did not know I was playing. I thought you were trying to quote "West End Girls" by The Pet Shop Boys. My bad if you weren't.
  14. Ooo, you're so close... "In a West End town, a dead end world The East End boys and West End girls" Thanks for playing...
  15. OK Tassels, lighten up a little... you're not in character yet. He started off by saying "To lighten the mood..." His comments were meant as a joke.
  16. I'm going Sunday, but not to the Cyclones event. Alas, a majority of my time will be once again spent in Nick U...
  17. They probably don't want to put the '08 HH upcharge in an official press release because they're testing the waters with that FAQ answer, waiting on public opinion. I agree, FAQs can change, especially this far in advance.
  18. Good work-around on that idiotic policy/program/perk CF has put in place after they saw lower SP sales and/or heard complaints from prospective SP buyers (speculation on my part, but highly likely this was a reactionary move). However, I believe the ticket upgrade needs to be done at the Return Visit Booth inside the park next to Keyhole Photo. At least that was the case as of 2004...
  19. ^ Agreed. And I could have sworn that when we first walked into the station that the green was sitting there waiting to depart. I know as it pulled away from the station, no sound was coming over the loudspeakers then. We got on the next train after that, which was also the green. Was red running all night?
  20. You know, there were reports when they did the attraction on the tower that they were looking into changing out two floor panels on the observation deck nearest the elevator with Plexi-glass. That was an actual idea floating around, but any change to the structure such as that would require the approval of the tower manufacturer, Intamin, who would not grant it.
  21. Where has there been an official press release from the park stating HH is an upcharge next year? http://www3.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/spec...pass_faq.cfm#14 IS Halloween Haunt INCLUDED IN A SEASON PASS? Halloween Haunt is free with a 2007 Season Pass but there will be a separate admission for this event in 2008.
  22. "The company is adding a new Evel Knievel wooden coaster at its St. Louis park." Wow, an Evel Knievel coaster?!?!? Did I wake up in 1976 this morning?
  23. Somehow I suspected I would hear from you! Unfortunately the night I went, they were only running the green train so we had no choice. Plus, I wouldn't have known the difference even if they had been running the red. I feel the experience (at least that part) should be consistent no matter which train I am on. It sets the mood/tone of what I am about to see along the trail. If the speaker system hasn't worked the past two weekends, that means Tech Services had 8 non-operating days to get it fixed. And with CF execs in the park that night, you think they might have made this a mid-level priority. Before anyone says anything, believe me, I am WELL aware of budget constraints in the Tech Services department over the years. We saved this one for one of our last for several reasons. 1) We wanted to see the hubbub over Club Blood & Dead Awakening, 2) We wanted to visit favorites Trail and Manor, 3) We were told by several people that this was one to do only if we had time. Having worked at KI 16 years, 2 of those as a minor and 9 of those in management, I know minor labor laws. I even commented in my TR that my experiences in TT and RR were probably effected by them. This was unfortunate and inevitable, as this was the only time we were able to go this year. We never realized how hard it can be to get someone to watch the kid! Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
  24. ^ Agreed. Top 40 countdown AND the original voice of Shaggy? Not to mention his work as Robin!
  25. They are exact and I did write them down. My wife at first kept asking me "What are you doing, are you going to do that all night?" I think I was driving her nuts with my note taking!
