From what I remember, no. KI does their own training. Of course you need to have a great handling on swimming, treading water, and being bale to lift different types of weights. (One thing that was always interesting (at least when I did it) was you were taught how to subdue and even incapacitate someone in case they are drowning you while trying to save them!)

IF I may be so blunt: Why don't you go somewhere else? You don't have to eat in the park. You can fix a meal, put it in the cooler and eat in your car. That way you won't have to deal with "the incompetent" people of the park. There's revolutionary idea! I think it might even catch on!
