I haven't been following much coaster news lately, that construction video was pretty cool. I very naively thought that there wasn't going to be much work to be done for the conversion other than slapping some paint on and loading up the new trains. interesting to see how much of the guts needed torn out.

This one is my favorite. -
Gatekeeper may fall into the category of a "Parking Lot Coaster" but it's the most absolutely stunning Parking Lot Coaster I've ever seen. After seeing some of the most recent pictures showing the completed Key Hole Loop I'm certain that choosing this specific coaster and incorporating it into the front gate of the park will prove to be one of the best decisions made by the park in years. With the lift on the beach, the flyover through the keyhole doubling as the entrance to the park, and the grassy tree lined turn around, it's really not much more a Parking Lot Coaster than say Magnum or Gemini.

http://old.nationalreview.com/comment/wood200312230101.asp I like the pine tree tradition... "The tree is the key symbol and it is not, as many might suppose, a holiday touch. In the high-steel trade, it announces that the construction has reached the sky without loss of life or serious injury. And it is meant to auger well for the future inhabitants of the building."

Want to see something really cool and you have an android phone (maybe only newer)? Navigate your way under Top Thrill Dragser in street view then click menu, compass mode, and tilt your phone back. -
Great question and outstanding answers from Medford and Monroe. This is why I come to KICentral.com

SF new for 2013

Wow Six Flags knows how to make an announcement. They really blew Cedar Point's fumbling around in the rain announcement of Gate Keeper. I like John Hildebrandt but he should never be in front of a camera making an announcement unless there has been a terrible accident. -
I'm pretty excited for 2013 at CP I'll miss the space spiral for nostalgic reasons, its still not the same without the sound of Demon Drop, but I'm really happy to see DT go. Its a big ugly eye sore on the inside and outside that will hopefully be relocated without the building. The only concern I have is the location. Hopefully this http://i.imgur.com/9aBM2.jpg Doesn't turn into this http://cache.rcdb.com/0p1t33t81220fa11sg00bn.jpg CP has really done a lot of nice landscaping in recent years but it is going to take a lot of work to make that back stage area look attractive.

I have to say I think that it's internet etiquette to post the link to the original not to where you found it with a credit like "found via screamscape." It's the original poster who deserves the credit for creating the content then uploading for our viewing. Besides you can only view this video in HD if you go to vimeo anyway. That being said great footage, thanks for posting. Great video for showing off the vimeo app on my tv.

TTD closed down due to flying debris
Go Browns replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Glad to hear no one was hurt, I hope this doesn't last too long. I actually witnessed one of the huge, decorative dragster tires that used to be on the back of each train, fall off during TTD's opening season. It was at night after the park was officially closed but there were still quite a few people in line for TTD, having a good time waiting for their first ride. My good friend Rob and I are standing on the top of the steps just outside the station, watching a train as it comes down the tower when all of a sudden we see something fall off then go bouncing a long the ground on the side of the track. We quickly realized it was one of the tires and we watched it go screaming by bouncing up and down as it passed everyone waiting in line and finally hopped the fence into the lagoon near the Iron Dragon pretzel. The ride ops had no clue and you should have seen their faces when the train rolled into the station sans one tire. They shut it down for a quite some time while they tried to figure out what to do. Finally they just removed that train and luckily they eventually allowed everyone in line to get a ride. Shortly after that the rear dragster themeing was completely removed. It's incredible luck that the tire was the right one and not the left. I don't want to know what would have happened if the left tire would have come off and ripped through the guests waiting in line... -
128 Dergree Drop

That bit after the launch looks great, especially that inside out cobra roll. -
It looks like a lot more fun than I expected but its too bad (warning prediction ahead ->) no one will ever get to ride it.

Looks like a fun coaster that will really give a unique experience and completely different ride depending on which side you sit on. What really impresses me is the theming, Gardaland went above and beyond with the detail. Those trains really look incredible. If you haven't seen some of the details of the theming check out [Hhappy's photo trip report](http://www.themepark...php?f=2&t=58607) over at tpr. Also in his review he says there is very little vibration so I guess its true when they say, "Don't judge a coaster by its pov."
