  1. That is a bit of a stretch. I think it was Railrider that pointed out that they will probably but up the final support and the drop before they but on the crown.
  2. Man could you imagine if you had to walk down those stairs from the top? That is a long and steep hill to descend. I think I'd prefer a ride down MF's lift basket.
  3. Perspective can do funny things to angles. I'm gonna take Don Helbig's word for it on the 40/74.
  4. Man that thing is huge!! Also congrats on Post 100 Firehawkboy!
  5. Wow sounds like that 2nd hill is going to be incredible! 80 mph dropping almost 200 feet into the ravine! I can't wait to ride this at night.
  6. I bet they put up the couple of pieces of track they've been working on today then call it quits. That leaves the final supports, the rest of the drop, and the top of the hill for next week. From the looks of it, no pine tree till next week.
  7. I'm not sure that is the biggest one they are putting in place right now. From looking at the renderings I'd say that is the support that holds the majority of the drop. The biggest support will be attached to the top of the lone support that has been up a few weeks now. edit* now i see you said "one of the largest" not the largest.
  8. Man that thing is huge! It looks to be about 5 pieces.
  9. After it didn't clear for awhile I thought there was an issue but it looks like its clearing up now.
  10. Kingda Ka very rarely rolls back because they purposely over launch the ride at speed greater than what is required for the train to make it over the top. Kingda Ka actually has magnetic brake fins on the top of the hill to slow it down as it crests the hill.
  11. Kind of on the same topic as markhudson17, it's really strange to me how B&M decides to build the supports in different segments in some areas but uses one long support for seemingly the same purpose in other places. For example in this picture there are four pieces to the support. Two on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right. How the heck does B&M decide the piece on the left needs to be two different supports bolted together but on the right it only needs to be one long support. Anyone else notice this? I believe it happens throughout the ride. I'm sure there is a very good reason for this but from a non-engineering perspective its odd.
  12. I think that something changed since that quote was made. It looks as if they were all set to construct the lift hill then someone stepped in and changed the plans. Now I have no experience in planning the construction of a coaster but it seems ridiculous to think the plan went construct the base of the lift, throw up those three supports, continue on constructing the rest of the ride, then comeback to finish the lift hill all the while leaving Clifford their doing nothing. The idea someone on here has given that Clifford would have destroyed the midway is plausible but I would assume they would have considered that before hand.
  13. No I did not follow the Behemoth progress. Point well taken. Somebody get me a protractor!
  14. Why is anyone doubting the statistics of this ride? It's not a weather report where the temperature is forecast to reach 80 degrees and be sunny, which everyone knows can be pretty far off. This is steel and concrete surveyed and constructed to with in millimeters (smaller?) of the blue prints. Or are you simply questioning that the marketing of this ride is using inflated numbers to make it seem more impressive?
  15. Speaking of the first drop. Didn't they say it would be topped off last week? Now it looks as if they are going to continue building towards the ravine. It seems strange to have put up a few supports then just stop and leave that big expensive crane there doing nothing.
  16. Chain or Cable is decided before the track is manufactured. Last minute decisions that concern the infrastructure of the ride happened months ago. The lift mechanism be it cable or chain is built into the lift track and any modification from one to the other would be costly. I think its below B&M's standards to do this kind of mod on site. As for the Hulk's launch system, it was designed by the park and B&M had/wanted nothing to do with it.
  17. FYI if you are interested the first piece of track is going up now on the webcam.
  18. I think you are talking about the new part they are adding to Kenwood Town Center, its a huge construction project and very visable from 71. Someone who lives in Cinci could probably tell you more about it but I see it every time I drive down there.
  19. I think there is still a good change the marketing dept. (whoever names it) has not narrowed it down to one yet.
