  3. During Halloween Haunt last season, I was in front of Larosas in Rivertown getting ready to get in line for The Beast when a scareactor who looked like a werewolf jumped out at me. He didn't scare me and I just said "Hey! How you doing? You ever heard of a razor?" Needless to say, the scareactor just shook his head, chuckled and walked away.

That same night, me and my best friend and his girlfriend were in line for The Beast....the line was past the pop machines almost to where the trees were removed for Diamondback, and three scareactors came up out of nowhere with laundry detergent bottles filled with rocks while I was talking about Diamondback to my friend and his girlfriend. He noticed the scareactors, didn't say anything to me, and one of the scareactors gets that laundry detergent bottle right in my ear and starts shaking it like crazy. It scares the absolute bejeezus out of me, and then they take advantage of a group of teenage girls in the first queue house and they almost wet their pants. I died laughing. :)

  4. This was my first season coming back to KI since 2003. I bought my gold pass with the stimulus check I received.

I did 10 laps on The Beast (which I never rode before this season), 5 laps on Red Racer, 1 lap on Blue Racer, 6 laps on Adventure Express, and 1 lap on Firehawk.

I did not get to Invertigo, Son of Beast, Flight of Fear, or Vortex this season. Was going to try to if it I had the time. Also, cannot wait for Diamondback.

Cannot wait to get my season pass for next year. I know this isn't the appropriate topic to ask this, does anybody know if they are still selling gold passes and for how long? (Mods, feel free to delete)

  5. Avatar.

We really enjoyed All-Star Music. Every night, around dark or so, a movie was played near the main pool area/main building. I don't remember it being loud, we were in the rock section towards the back of the property. All-Star Music is in the vicinity of Animal Kingdom, and the drawback is that all three resorts (All-Star Sports, All-Star Movies, and All-Star Music) use the same bus, and I believe that Pop Century has it's own. It took us a good 45 minutes to an hour just to get from EPCOT back to our room...but we never left the resort, save for a few times we went to eat in nearby Kissimmee, and we saved a ton on gas. I hear now that if it's your birthday, you get in for free.

  6. Avatar,

I thoroughly enjoyed your trip report and hope you had a good time! I was in Orlando back in September on business and did not have extra time to spend at Disney or Universal. Me and the family went to Disney last September, stayed at a Disney resort (All-Star Music) and did all four parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios all in four days. It was so draining but was so worth it. It has been years since I've been to Universal (when Kongfrontation was still there) and I've never even been to Islands. Next year when we come down, we plan on hitting Busch Gardens, Universal/Islands, and Disney. We've only had one bad experience with Disney, and that is with my sister. It was her birthday, we were at Magic Kingdom, and we went to City Hall (Guest Relations) to get a birthday button. We were about to get on Space Mountain and she told the Cast Member that it was her birthday. The Cast Member got an attitude and said "Who cares?". After this, we got free Fast Passes to every ride in that park for our misfortune. I apologize for the long post, got carried away on memories. Anyways, I enjoyed your TR and hope to hear more in the future!

  7. I was in line while they did this.....they took one train off, the maintenance crew was looking at it, and after they were done, put it back into service. It didn't really make sense to me either why they would take a train off with the whole station jam packed.

  8. I'm 6' 4'' weighing in at 275lbs and I have absolutely no problem on any of KI's coasters...I even get two clicks easily on The Beast and Racer even though it's an uncomfortable ride due to my height.

  9. There has been talk of re-doing the interchange at I-71 and Fields Ertel. Most of the time when I drive past it on my way to Kings Island or to the grandparent's house in Wilmington...traffic is always almost backed up onto the highway. That exit is the most poorly designed I have ever seen on a highway, save for a couple in Georgia.
