I`m fairly certain that the restraints are released and locked by the driver of the ride, but having never operated a ride at PKI I wouldn`t know for sure.
-
No, PKI does not have any rides made by B&M (neither does Kings Dominion or Canada`s Wanderland) and is one of the few major parks without a ride by B&M. Theire rides are know for being incredibly smooth, reliable and high capacity rides. They are the creators behind Cedar Point`s Mantis and Raptor, SFWoA`s Batman Knight Flight, Paramount`s Carowind`s Top Gun The Jet Coaster and Vortex. Also, in addition to producing inverted, hyper (they call them speed coasters), and floorless coasters, they`re most recent addition to their arsenal is their version of the flying coaster which can be found at Six Flags Over Georgia in the form of Superman: Ultimate Flight. It is rumored, that PKI`s 2005 addittion might be a new roller coaster, possibly designed by B&M.

Last I heard, they did not currently have a website, because their product is so widely known in the amusement industry and their product so upscale, that they don`t have a website because any park interested in purchasing one of their rides would know how to get a hold of them. However, I heard that they acquired the domain bolligerandmabillard.com from a fan site of theirs and are currently developing that site. Currently though, I don`t believe it is online yet.

Yeah, its a great book italianchef! Actually, that is the only coaster or PKi related book that I have in my dorm room here at UC. One good thing about the book, at least from the standpoint of me having it in my dorm room, is its small pocketbook size. Once again, conratulations Italianchef, aka Charles Infosino!

I don`t think I won anything. I can`t access my home email account that I used to sign in to the survey panel website. I know I took the last survey that dealt with next years surveys. One of the perks they were considering is in park benefits of some sort for people that complete surveys.

Well, you might not care. But think of it this way, these things add some atmopshere to the park. While they may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things, think if little things like this were taken out of the park and not replaced, such as the lights on the buildings, the roaming musicians, etc. The park loses some sense of character and atmosphere. Another thing the park lost for this season was the ride signs in Coney Mall used to have lights around them, however the lights were removed from every one except for The Vortex.

BoObKiNoS, how does my working at CI stir up trouble? While the pay might not be great at Coney, it is a great place to work. Also, had Coney not existed, sadly, we`d have no PKI. Also, Coney is not know for its thrills, but Sunlite Pool. Also, the park is more family oriented because it is smaller in size, and usually less crowded then PKI. To ride all the rides, it probably only takes an hour or two. Before I left this past season at the end of the year, I had heard several rumors about new rides being added in the future. Some of the rumors I heard, were a new coaster, a viking ship, a tower ride, a collection of four more new flat rides or a log flume. It is interesting to note that I heard they were tearing down the tennis court fence next to the Python. Hmmm. I don`t think I`m returning to Coney next season though, not for a 20 cent raise. I had fun there for two seasons, but alas, 5.65 for my third season at the park doesn`t sound too enticing to me. I might try and work at PKI as a ride op, but with being in UC`s architecture program, I wouldn`t be able to start until the first week of June. (Most of one day of my weekend is wasted on doing projects!) Also, they recommend that I get a job related to architecture, which I don`t think a job at PKI qualifies for. Oh well, we`ll see.

Wow, it seems like the park needs to remind all vehicles inside the park to pay attention. I didn`t know running into things was such a big problem. One would think that they should do all the running into stuff on the Dodgems using the Dodgems cars to run into stuff where you can`t damage major stuff and cost the park money.

Welcome back to posting, Derek! As far as I know, IS street has had the same amount of gas lights on it for as long as i can remember. I do know they got rid of the lights on the buildings on IS a couple years ago because of lack of replacement bulbs. Also, I don`t recall the flags you mentioned in Octoberfest, I know there used to be, not sure if there were any this season or not, flags on the OctoberFest sign off of Interntional Street. It was rumored that they were going to reintroduce some sort of lighting on the buildings on IS similar to what used to be there. However, I haven`t heard anything about this lately, but I think IS looked much better with lights on the buildings.

I see., sounds like a very interesting project!

Actually, the Flight Team helicopter tours were added in 2000, a year after Drop Zone opened.

What exactly is your school paper on?

Yes, I thought that the park definition was slightly different than the one I found. So, after a little bit of digging, I found the definition the park used in the press release for Delirium on September 26, 2002. de·lir·i·um - n. A state of uncontrolled excitement or emotion

Honestly, I don`t think that The Vortex is going anywhere, anytime soon. Rumor was that the park spent more than $100,000 to paint the ride for its 15th anniversary in 2002. However, they also painted King Cobra for 1999, and it was removed at the end of the 2001 season. However, I don`t think they spent nearly as much money to paint King Cobra as they did for The Vortex. Also, Vortex is still very popular, despite it being rough in a couple spots.

Unless all fourteen magnetic fins on each of the two sides of the tower that the brakes are mounted on fall off, I don`t think Drop Zone`s brakes can fail. Also, if for some reason they don`t work, which is next to impossible, I do believe that they have a pair of shock absorbers at the bottom of the tower to prevent the ring of seats from hitting concrete at 67+ mph.

Well, a logical place to look would be a dictionary. So, from Webster`s II New Riverside Pocket Dictionary, here`s the definition of Delirium. Delirium-n. 1. Temporary mental confusion and clouded consiouusness. 2. Ecstasy;rapture. Hope that helps!

I still remember visiting when I was younger. Its amazing how much the park has changed since 1990 when I was 5. I sure wish they would have had their great kids area when I was 5! Unfortunatly I am too old to get the most out of the kiddie lands, and too young to have experienced The Bat and Screamin Demon. At least I got to experience the awesome, IMO, ride that King Cobra gave.

Didn`t the Festhaus used to open for fodd even when there were no shows going on? Seems to me that the shows would bring in more people to eat at the Festhaus since you could eat and watch a show at the same time. However, they probably got ride of it because it would be hard to serve food when the show is going on. Alas, your right and they probably did discontinue the shows because they could mkae more money this way. I think it would be cool if they returned an ice skating show, maybe in the Parqamount Theater.
-
Actually, the Festhaus opened in 1983. However, it might have been completed on time for use in Winterfest. BoObKiNoS, are you trying to stir up troub le with smart remarks to almost every post? Take a chill and respect everyones opinion. Afterall, this is a free country.

Why would you NOT want a gold season pass for $5? The benefits are far worth it just for the gold pass parking area. Also, I heard that they may be adding some new and better benefits next season for gold pass holders. Some of the benefits I`ve heard are being "copied" from Holiday World, with gold pass holders getting free refills on soft drinks for the season. Hopefully, this perk does come true, as it would save me a lot of money, and would be well worth the $5 upgrade considering a 20 oz. drink at the restaraunts was 2.36.

Actually, I beleive that most of the track is not located where they shoot off fireworks. It may be close to where they shoot off fireworks, but the location where they shoot off fireworks is down by the Miami River and barely visible from the Eiffel Tower. Also, I believe that there are slightly more than ten pieces of KC track behind SoB.

Oh, ok, that makes sense now. I too think that it is an old photo of King Cobra at sunset. They probably didn`t want to take a new picture just for a sunset, so they used the one with King Cobra in it and didn`t bother using Photoshop to erase it, because to the gp, they might not notice that it is King Cobra becuase all that you see is the shadow and out line of a small portion of the lift.
-
Unless I missed something very obvious somewhere, King Cobra which is what I believe is pictured on the FearFest guide cover, is a stand-up roller coaster.

I would assume that everyone would agree that that money PKI donated is money well spent. I`m glad that PKi continues to honor our country`s brave service men and women. Remember that they were offering half price discounts to service men and women all season, I believe. (I think it was 50% admission prices anyway)
