no no no no, the stupidest thing i did was in 2001 a tornado watch was issued in the park. so all rides were down and we were at congo with cobra/dot crew, and we got bored and someone said it would be funny if someone called tower and asked them if they were reopened. keep in mind lightning was everywhere. so anyway i stepped up and called tower and when someone picked up i said, "THIS IS CHRIS FROM CONGO/DROPZONE, are you guys back up??? i felt like a complete idiot after that!
-
yea geysers on congo are timed. it would be sweet if we hit the button to set them off just like tower 3 at wwc, maybe one day.
-
i really dont consider it work either, the only way i would is the amount of sleep we miss! but thats ok. your first year when you start out it sucks because you in a whole new enviornment with all these new people, but you stick it out and then get to know the people, and get used to the rides, you be working with good friends and doing an easy job. then when you return each year, you make more friends with new people and still have your old friends. yea its pretty sweet

6 YEARS IN FOOD!!!!!! ouch! Im sorry but that must suck!
-
this years goal is 23 drops on the stunt tower!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! sorry had to do that! hope you all got a good laugh out of that!
-
yea sparky, u guys got that goal right after me, lauren, and erica hit 20. we were happy, then you had to go and ruin our thunder!! YOU COULD HAVE WAITED TILL THE NEXT DAY!!!!!!
-
not i says me. i started off in 2001, so i KNOW there are people that are on this site that are longer than me.

your w2 form should be coming on or around January 31st. thats the time they usually come.

hey, that second train could work, if the put like a transfer track in or something, but with paramount theater and the OTHER SIDE OF THE RIDE there, i dont think that would work. but without the transfer track................................................

keep busy in the off season, and it will FLY by! shadow, u work in merch right??? i go out with one of the sups from merch, she was in night vending last year. u might know her, her name is S Baker. anyway, just 2 more months!!!
-
To correct you, the line for face/off really isnt that long anymore. capacity sucked this year
-
Does anybody know where I can get some construction pics of rides like Face/Off, CongoFalls, Drop Zone ect????
-
I was a swing the power outage happened. I came in like right after it happened and I saw Drop Zone open but there was like a 2 hr line for it. Then over by SOB there was another huge line but the greeter wasnt letting anyone in. So i punched in and then i went to my ride Congo and my sup was standing in front of the line and told me what happened. It was pretty cool!
-
yea, spots fill quickly. i was lucky to get on congo/dropzone in 2001 cause somebody that got hired picked that ride and they quit so that spot opened and it was the only spot and the only good rides available. and that was in february of 2001!

This off-season has been going pretty fast. Compared to last off-season where it dragged on and on and on and on! I am excited for the new season though. Cant wait to see Delirium up and running. Hopefully this season I will get sent there and work it a lot.

Yeah it does suck. It sucks even more when you work from 9:15 am to 8 pm then head over to another ride and stay there from 8 to 430 and have to get up at like 8 am and repeat the whole cycle! Its good money but its wear and tear on your body!
-
Sparky, i 100% agree with you. We volunteer ourselves to stay up at all hours of the night to make the tall rod go up and down and we clean up after all the jackasses that trash our line. So yea i think we deserve the shirt, even though we do get a payraise for fearfest!

my scariest moment at pki was when i was working at drop zone on gay day in 2001. everything was fine until at night, the whole que house started singing somewhere over the rainbow! im dead serious, everybody that was in there (half a que house) was singing that song. i was scared for life!!! whats your scariest moment?

i think the funniest thing ive ever done, was when we were at FaceOff and i crossed to the other side and sparky opened the enterance gates and i went right smack into them and fell on the ground! freakin hillarious!

ok, when i ride congo, i have one fear. that fear is the lift motor will go heywire and it will speed up to about 120 mph. well one night i had a dream that i was riding congo and all of a sudden, it happened. the lift went heywire and the boat with me in it shot of into the air. i was flying in the boat but it didnt go down, it made circles around the park and then all of a sudden, me and the boat ended back in Action Zone and colided into sob. not only the weirdest pki dream, but the weirdest dream i have ever had.

oh u wanna talk about funny employees? ok, in 2001 we had an international at Drop Zone named Vlado. i was driving drop zone and he was working the exit. everyone that has ever worked Drop Zone knows operators cant leave there booth while the ride is in the air. well we dispatched the ride and it just left the black part and all of a sudden, Vlado just casually walks out of the booth, stands right in the middle of the ride area by the big Drop Zone sign, and just stares at the ride going up! I banged on the window and screamed at the idiot to get back in the booth and he scratches his head and just casually walks back. that was probably the funniest thing ive seen working there.

all i got to say is this, and i quote numerous signs around the park: Paramounts Kings Island is not responsible for articles lost while riding, Thank You.
-
did u get any diseases for being such a rides department floozy?
-
i would love to ride faceoff in the rain in the back seat facing congo, and when it comes back, i would love if it miscaught..........................i agree with sparky, ive never seen you ride faceoff cletus.
-
closing at congo was always the best. sparky u remember that night when the guests wouldnt sit down even if u paid them? and then i took the height stick and pointed up at the sign above the water and made them repeat every single word of that sign. that was the best, cause it was a full boat of people actually doing it!!! haha
