well that "place" in germany must have gotten a refund because cobra is still at pki. and i think its still for sale, just nobody wants it.
-
King Cobra was also removed due to problems with the manufacture kinda going out of business and parts for that ride were becoming very hard to find and the parts they did find were very expensive. And also maintenance had to weld that track like everyday, so its just like what was mentioned above: track problems. But I miss that ride, it was one of the best. R.I.P King Cobra 1984-2001

Actually Congo can run in the extreme cold, just as long as the water doesnt freeze and the pumps and conveyors last. I know, I've operated it in below freezing weather.
-
Most of your coasters wouldnt be able to open due to the temperature it needs to be in order to run the rides. I know most of the steel coasters and some wood ones wouldnt be able to open because it has to be above like 50 or 55 or something like that to run. But I would love to see Winterfest back, I'd work it!

How many years have you had your Season Pass?
CYoung2003 replied to pki_bighogg's topic in Kings Island
Had a pass 95 and 96, skipped 97 and 98, had a pass 99-00, have had my work ID from 01-03. -
Well then you obviously did'nt see any of the ride lines for the Friday nights, they were dead walk ons. There were some points that we were just standing around at Drop Zone and waiting for people to come and ride. It may be good for the haunted houses capacity but its a ride capacity killer and I think taking Friday nights out of the picture and moving that day to Sunday is a smart idea.
-
Ok, you people are acting like PKI doesnt want alot of people in the park. HELLO, thats the whole purpose of making Fearfest on the weekend and part of general admission, to attract more people and to make the capacity skyrocket! Capacity hasnt been to great for Fearfest in the past, and this is a good way to boost it. If they didnt do this then they would probably have to get rid of Fearfest due to poor attendance.

Why I love working at PKI: Because I have met some of the best people you can meet by working there. When you work a ride an entire summer, your crew members become your good friends. You joke around, you have fun, and after work go out to eat with the people. Because SOME of the guests can be very pleasant to talk to. When I check bars a give a quick hello to some of the people I see and I talk to them. You can meet new people and make new friends with guest relating. Most employees dread like I did, but I got used to it and I think its fun. Because I cant think of any other job where after an open shift you can just go and clock out, change your shirt and then go a couple feet and ride some world class coasters. Last but not least.....................Because they pay for my car!!!!

Why don't we PKIUnlimited Folks meet at PKI soon?

FYI: during fearfest most of the thrill rides WILL be open for operation. -
Ok, coming from the Drop Zone guy himself: Bottom line the tower is 315 ft. and the drop is 264 ft. Eiffel Tower is 314 ft. WOW Drop Zone beats it by the one foot because of the little tower on top! Thats the bottom line of this whole topic! Done. Said. Move along to another topic and lay off my ride!
-
DZ is definately not getting adjusting seats. Too much time, too much effort. Just, no.
-
Ok, boobkinos, you are 100% correct. Drop Zone is 315 ft tower wise. Eiffel Tower is 314 ft. That is the way it is. Period. End of discussion.

Well obviously he doesnt if he is asking him to explain the situation. Come on now that wouldnt make any sense. Unless you were trying to get someone fired. Ban me, yell at me, argue with me i personally dont care Im just putting in my two sense.
-
Yeah, we got the best kids area on the planet and we didnt even rank? Thats a load of crap if you ask me. I think Kings Island is better than most of the parks around the country if not the world.

That storm took me about straight out of my shoes. I was working at DOT and it just came out of nowhere. I was getting hit by debris and the wind was cool. The dark clouds were also pretty awsome!!!
-
Ok, WOW tickets are for one ride at a time and you have a certain time you are able to ride the ride. Each ride that has WOW has its own Guest Relation person at the front of the line to give out the tickets. Double Ride Tuesday is strictly for Gold Season Passholders only. That means if you have no pass, no double ride for you.

ok just to let you know, on all coaster, well most of them, the restraint must and i mean must come down at least 2 clicks in order for you to ride. but 4?? i would have said something then. geesh!

Am I seeing this??? A video game about Jeff Siebert. OMG you people need lives sereously. Why not make a movie about the manager of the McDonalds down the street from my house. Come on now.
-
Yeah Drop Zone came out in 1999 along with Face/Off and the newley themed Congo Falls (formerly Amazon Falls). Im pretty sure i started at PKI in 2001 at Drop Zone and Im also pretty sure it wasnt new! (note the scarcasim )
-
Thats like saying Drop Zone is a water ride and Delirium is a coaster!
-
My favorite has to be Drop Zone! I love that ride. My second would have to be the D ride (Delirium) though.
-
Yeah come on people lets be rational here. You act like you are better than everyone else that doesnt have a goldpass. To me that does sound selfish that your whining about your little night. Like SOB TOM said, you get your benifits. You get your walk on Wednesdays, double ride tuesdays, Early Ride Openings, and these breakfast/dinner things. You act like you should be treated like kings! Do me a favor, cry me a river, build a bridge, AND GET OVER IT!!!

Al Snow rode Drop Zone during Fearfest while I was driving. He came to the booth and shook my hand and everything (im a big wrestling fan so its a big deal for me!!). It was pretty cool, just wanted to add that.

There are some pretty high tech rides in the park, but the ride I love to watch operate would have to be Face/Off. Its so neat how that ride works. On both lifts there are little black catchers that catch the train and release them and its just neat to watch the train and the catchers race up the lift then connect. Its better to stand under the lifts and watch them. I guess thats another employee perk!
