Does anybody have a complete list of all the songs they play over the speakers in AZ and Coney or at least most of them? Thanks.

The day when it got stuck up at the top all those times was a memorable day. When they put the water dummies on it and it got stuck with the water dummies was so funny, I couldnt stop laughing for about 15 mins. Great days, fun times!
-
I remember that day, I was working Drop Zone that day. A lot of freaked out people and a lot of upset people. It was probably one of the worst experiences Ive had working there because they werent stuck up there with an upcoming storm approaching, they were up there throughout the whole thing, lightning and all.

Well everyone just know this, if and I do mean "if" the ride were to ever get stuck, most likely there would not have to be any major evac situation, the ride would be lowered slowly or you will be dropped from whichever point your at, then you would be released from your seats at the bottom. The only thing you would have to do is sit back and enjoy the view......
-
Also that would be the last thing they would resort to. Of course there are other ways to get people down. First they would try to lower them, if that doesnt work then they would drop them. There are other ways but usually those work unless the catch car would not release the chair ring at all. And I thing releasing the catch car from the cables is an option, I mean they could do it because of the brakes catching the chairing and the catch car. It would be perfectly safe.

Ive seen them do that kind of training. It was one day during spring cleanup they were doing the evac training from the top of DZ, they were hanging from the top. It was kind of neat to see.

I see what you mean. I dont know its kind of something I've been wondering about for awhile. I guess it does kinda not make any sense. The way I always pictured it was there was a motor underground with pullys and the cables ran up through the tower by following a metal track (the elevator would still be there), and more pullys up top and spool out the sides and onto the catch car. Thats the way I always saw PKD's, I know KI's wouldnt be able to do that because like Sparky said, the weight of the chair ring. PKD's is more light than PKI's. But I guess more and more I think about it, the more impossible and time hassling it is.
-
And by putting that motor at the bottom it would save maintenance that long cramped haul to the top.

In my opinion some rides should have the flood lights and nothing else. Just because of the colors schemes. Perfect example is none other than the big bad Drop Zone. First off, its a 315 ft multicolored tower, so if you put flashy colorful lights on it, it would look stupid. And plus it has those "airport runway worthy lights" is because the lights need to light up the whole tower so we can see the tower. But I do agree with you on one thing, Skyflyer's lights were pretty sweet.
-
I think without KI, my summers would just completely suck, I have no life and nothing to do as it is. Im pretty much a KI nut so I guess my life would suck. I dont know, maybe I would be a Tri-County Mall Lifer or something........

Ok, bottom line, if you lose an article on a ride, sorry to say but ride ops are not responsible because its your responsibility to secure them, there are signs posted. In case you do lose them, tell a ride op and fill out a lost article card, that wont guarentee we will find your article but it means if we find it we know who to call and where to send it to. Also this topic isnt about Drew or his employment history or whatever its about a lost phone that was found. This topic should be closed because the case is closed!

Dont forget Subway! Gotta love the subs!

With the height of the tower right now as it is, it already has its problems. But if they did build a taller one, make it right!!! Put the motor at the bottom of the tower instead of the top, you could run the cables through the tower, out the top and connect it to the catch car. It would be so much easier to maintain, and I do believe that its that way with Dominions DZ, maybe Im wrong but it would be easier. Also DONT PUT NO STEPS!!! Thats our prototype!

The King Cobra was one of my favorite rides. It hurt like hell sometimes but I really enjoyed it. I loved working the ride too. Ive only worked it a couple of times but it was fun working it. I still remember the little lift speil: PLEASE REMAIN STANDING, AND KEEP BOTH FEET FLAT ON THE FLOOR AS YOU RIDE THE KING COBRA! Great stuff. I miss that ride.

I will tell you that the KC trains are in fof drum. Ive been in the drum and I stood right in front of them. Unless I was seeing things, they are there. Also riding fof is much more fun than riding in the dark. Like Dragonlord said, a lot of close calls! Fun stuff!!

I highly doubt that "if" we get a new coaster next year (and thats a huge IF), that it will be themed around The Bat or King Cobra or whatever. But according to Craig Ross, we are not in the coaster race so I highly doubt a new coaster is in our future anytime soon. I kind of hope we dont get a new coaster, like somebody said before, I hope we get HB expansions and flat rides for the next 10 years!

If you go to Days of Thunder and while your in line, look to your right side and you will see the huge King Cobra supports still standing with a clearance sign still atached.

Well if it moved, there sure wouldnt be as much drama! "Stop the drama 2003!"

what if paromounts didnt buy kigs island
CYoung2003 replied to beastbreakdown's topic in Kings Island
I think all the AZ rides would still be there but with different names. For example Drop Zone could be Stunt Tower or Days of Thunder could be turned back to XS Raceway or Face/Off could be called Invertigo. Anyway I think ridewise, they would still be there but with different names -
Which coaster is the smoothest and roughtest
CYoung2003 replied to rollercoaster's topic in Kings Island
and also how about we put the gondala from Delirium and switch it with the chair ring on drop zone but instead of having them on normally we put them upside down! wow i bet we could sure have a fun ride with that! please. oh yea lets also work on that second train at face/off while were at it. -

You know I just gotta agree with Sparky and sobgun, that Congo Falls can sure take it out of me, I mean I come off that ride HURTIN! But I think the smoothest coaster of all times would have to be SOB turned backwards, wouldnt that be so smooth!? I think so! -
It was a pretty interesting storm. Driving home in it from KI wasnt too fun either. Its a shame the sign is gone. It was a great looking sign, plus its been up for so many years. Oh well......

If Drop Zone's brakes failed (which would be a horrific act of God), then people would most likely die, your coming 264 feet out of the sky at 67 mph and your about to land on concrete!! Well if you plan on surviving you better keep your feet up or else you will have some problems!!!
-
Like I said in a post before, King Cobra is just one of those rides that are too much of a pain in the butt to maintain. Thats the main reason why they took it down. Nobody wants a ride thats a pain in the butt to maintain and a ride that parts are rare and expensive for. Thats why the poor ride is collecting rust throughout the park.

i would not only have you kicked out, i would make you pick that display back up, put it exactly how you found it, and then have you booted.
