haha, wow that was taken my first year! i remember that day to for some reason

ok heres how i see the whole situation: after 9/11 the US has been scared terrorism as you all know. pki took immediate action after that and put a metal detector at the employee gate and put security guards and tables to search backpacks etc at the front gate. now that were in a high risk of terrorism because of the war, wouldnt it make sense to put metal detectors and security and maybe some dogs at all gates to look out for these maniacs thats are scuicide bombers, or these people thats have deadly chemicals on them?? come on, i dont want to be working at face/off and then see a big explosion in line because some psyco blew himself up and took about 100 people with him. im 110 % for the extra security and id like to thank pki for spending a little bit more money and working a little bit harder for keeping me, my fellow associates/supervisors, and all the guests in the park SAFE and WORRY FREE! yes this is an amusement park, but its also on terrorists lists as targets along with malls, skyscrapers, baseball stateums etc..... again i am totally for the new security because i dont want to see Son of Beast on cnn and in the caption "tragedy at amusment park as a result of terrorism" thats just my opinion.

I will be working as i am sure most pki employees will be. it would have to be a darn good excuse to get off that day cuz u need to get familiar with ur work area (thats for all the new people). but if ur a guest, come see me at face/off or congo falls!

yea and some of them have the annoying little alarms on them. BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!!

I personally thought that KCKC was a horrible ride and i always said that they should take it out. Thank god they did! Im a Congo guy myself (hence the avatar) but not just cuz i work it, cuz i think its the best water ride in the park

Im fond of PKI's ice cream, wherever its sold at in the park except for oscars because the ice cream machine atacks you there.

Yea a lot of people will be with there families at Kings Island!!! lol. i dont really remember the past 2 easter sundays. i was working both times but dont remember if there packed. now mothers day, thats a different story!!

In reply to an old post that somebody said the DOT movie was destroyed, I highly doubt that PKI would just flat out destroy something like that. I mean, if they did that, then why dont they destroy the old king cobra sign, or why dont they destroy the old control booth for Skylab that currently sits by Adventure Expresses exit? I think PKI has it somewhere in storage and maybe one day for like a 1 night only type of event, they will bring out the old equiptment and the movie and have a DOT night. Maybe!

i know that last year at fearfest they played independance day music and OH MY GOD they completely out-played the thriller song by michael jackson on q-tv. sitting at drop zone and hearing THRILLERRRRRRR every 10 mins will give u a migrane!

im about 6'2 and i havent had much problems riding SOB. its a great ride and think it runs just fine. as for getting new trains, i dont think that PKI would fork over money to get new trains to replace the old ones that dont really have any problems at all. wouldnt make any sense.

They play the Rocky theme also.

yea bein at congo/drop was the best. even though i was only there one year, it was the best year. oh well, maybe one day in the future they'll be paired up again. who knows......................

I would definetly have to agree with u sparky. dairy queen in my neighborhood opened up march 1st and that indicates warmer weather and great times on the way. plus getting training day info from pki is also another indicator!

bringin back a VERY old topic- Congo/DropZone 01, Face/Off-Congo 02, Skyflyer 03!

my "fearfest experiences" have been pretty much working. so i dont really know what all they have to offer. i came in 2000 when i was a guest but that was one night and all we did was ride rides. 2001 i was there 1 night and i worked at dropzone. and in 2002, i was pretty much at dropzone all fearfest nights except the second one where i was at Flight of Fear.

also be positive when u go in. dont come in dressed like a bum and have a bad attitude. well i guess u could say that for every interview i guess.

i was waiting in line for beast 1 time and this dumb guy just bolts righ out in front of me so i have my gf hold my spot. well i confront the guy and he says im not gonna do s**t. well i had my id so i busted it out and flashed it to him, and he just laughed at me and said i still wasnt gonna do s**t. so i said ok, and i went over to the greeter position (which was empty at the time) and called security myself. i know i probably should have went to the station and told a ride op but i was ticked!

im rides through and through. i will be on the Skyflyer crew this year!!!

im thinkin a new conversation needs to be started!

hey coasterguy, congrats on gettin hired to face/off/congo. that was my crew last year. all i got to say is the people there are great(espically this one girl savannah), ur sups are fantastic, and the rides are soooo much fun. look for me sometime, cuz im gonna get sent there alot. oh and one more thing, there gonna have a thing called water sentry training, go to it cuz it will help out in the long run.
