I was dating a guy for about 2 weeks when he told me he doesn't ride anything that goes upside down. That one didn't last much longer. I ride the tallest, fastest scream machines around, and if you go to a park with me, you'd better be in the seat next to me, not the scaredy-cat watching from the sidelines. Anyway, You might be a KI addict if: - You are at CP, see MaxAir, and automatically think Delirium. - You know the FOF "movie" by heart. - You get mad when all the Stunt Crew Grill seats closest to the center of Action Zone are taken, because you wanted to watch Drop Tower while you ate. - You no longer jump or hold your ears when you're next in line for Invertigo and the train goes roaring through the station.

How did I know you would be the first to follow in my wayward footsteps?

My top 5 at Cedar Point are: 1. Millennium Force 2. Maverick 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Wicked Twister 5. Magnum Angie, who strays off topic within a topic that she started
-
If the backward Racer was still alive, it would be number 5 on my list instead of BLSC. I'm still fuming over that change.
-
I didn't see a topic like this, so forgive me if there is already one. They can be coasters, rides, anything in Nick U, or even BB rides. I'm not a big fan of water parks, and I haven't been on Slingshot or Xtreme Skyflyer yet, so here's my list. 1. Drop Tower 2. FOF 3. Invertigo 4. Beast 5. BLSC

Wikipedia is about as reliable as a bridge made out of gum. Anyone can edit it. The professors at my college won't accept it as a citation on a research paper. If you want real amusement park news, go to www.thrillnetwork.com.

If the lines seriously die down the way you guys are saying they might, be prepared for a whopper of a ride count in my TR, because I'm arriving at 11 am and staying until 1 am when the park closes. My name is RideWarrior on another website, and I plan to live up to that.

At the risk of n00bing myself.. What time does Haunt start? I only went to KI once during HH last year, and I can't remember.

When I first read this I thought, "Hey cool! Someone must have taken a ton of KI pictures and made an elaborate COLLAGE out of them!" Then I opened the topic to find no such jpeg/bitmap/etc. I am severely disappointed. *bursts into tears*

Is anybody a bit nervous about riding Diamondback
gigacoaster2k replied to ZukoGirl's topic in Kings Island
Bring on the forces. I've never been on a B&M hyper, but you can bet my hands will be in the air all the way on this monster. It looks more amazing every day. I'm ready to ride. -
Terror comes into play when I'm hanging on Drop Tower.. but I run back for more every time. I can not wait to go Saturday and do my Drop Tower marathon. I had a friend bet me that I couldn't ride it 10 times in a row. He's about to lose.

Every time I go to CP, I hear someone refer to TTD as Top Fuel Dragster. I was in line for Delirium. When it was in full swing, someone in front of me looked up at it and said "Can you imagine if that thing snapped off?" The looks he got were priceless.

I never get tired of Invertigo either, I always hit the very front or very back seat. Drop Tower still makes my palms sweat, but the adrenaline rush is so worth it. I'm jealous of all your rides on The Beast too! I actually like LaRosa's, but my favorite place to eat is the Stunt Crew Grill in Action Zone. Except for one time, I've always gotten fresh, hot food and excellent service there. They are fast and friendly. One of the many times I ate there this summer, I was given a hot dog with a bun that was so hard it crunched. I took it back and politely showed them what was wrong. The girl gasped in horror, threw out my entire plate of food and made me a fresh plate (even though nothing was wrong with my fries), while apologizing to me about 20 times. I got about twice the amount of fries I did the first time. The girl at the register even apologized to me for what happened, and told me not to worry about paying for the second plate of food. I was blown away by their customer service, and they can bet that I will be a return customer.

what do you think cedar fair could do to improve ki?
gigacoaster2k replied to skaterboy22101's topic in Kings Island
YES. Also: * Speed lanes available to gold and platinum passholders on every ride, every day the park is open.. but only offered to the first 500 passholders in the gate, for two rides of their choice. * Bring back the backward Racer. * Expected ride wait time boards at the entrance to every ride, like they have at Cedar Point. * Do something to improve Vortex. That coaster is getting more and more painful every year. -
In my book, AE is fun if you're looking for that break from the big rides. It's just not thrilling enough for me, I crave adrenaline when it comes to my rides and coasters. No offense to anyone who does like it, but it just isn't my speed (no pun intended ). At KI, I can really only be found around Drop Tower, FOF, Delirium, Beast, Invertigo, and BLSC (I like BLSC because it has a lot of elements packed into one ride). And Firehawk when you don't have to wait years, which is rare.

I used to enjoy The Vortex, but it has gotten rougher over the years, and the batwing really hurts. Every Arrow coaster I've ridden is like that. They may as well be built out of coat hangers. Thanks for the Antique Cars gravestone photo. I really miss those. My dad and I would always ride those when we went to KI before I turned 16, "because it was a good way to prepare me for driving school." I was horrible at it, but those were good times. My dad is such a joker. I really liked Flight Deck when it had the Top Gun theming. It added anticipation to the ride, that and it has always been one of my favorite movies. I still have photos of the theming somewhere, I'll have to look for them later. I've ridden it since they changed it to Flight Deck, and for me, it just isn't the same. It is good to see that KI is starting to post expected wait times, hopefully that's a hint that they will have the full setup next year. CP has one by the entrance to every single coaster and thrill ride, even the Giant Wheel.

I have to work 3-11 tomorrow. I will be there next Saturday for sure.

I actually like BLSC, it's fun. Lots of elements packed into one ride. At KI, Drop Tower is my favorite among Beast, Flight of Fear, Invertigo, and Delirium.
-
I haven't been to KI since August 9. I'd go, but I work tonight and tomorrow night until 11 pm. I am having really bad Drop Tower withdrawals. Thankfully, my addiction will be fed once again September 27. That drop is a candy coated adrenaline rush that I can't wait to taste again.

Cedar Point goes mobile
gigacoaster2k replied to gigacoaster2k's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
WOW. I went from an average park guest (visiting KI maybe 3 times a year if I was lucky) to a coaster enthusiast after my first trip to Cedar Point last year. I was completely blown away by this huge park with monstrous coasters reaching speeds that made my eyes water. I had to know everything about the park so I could tell everyone about my experience, and that's pretty much where it started. -

Same here. I cherish my CF platinum pass. I remember several years ago when a friend came to visit from out of state. I took her down to KI, and we bought tickets at the entrance. I had no idea at the time about things such as park perks, ride stats, or even a season pass. We pretty much pointed at something and asked the other one if they wanted to ride it. -

Once again, Now to get back on topic, I agree with tigellinus. I have met so many people who aren't even aware of what they are riding. "How high is this?" "How fast does it go?" "What's the name of this one again?" Cracks me up every time, especially on rides like Drop Tower when you tell them how fast and high it really is. The look on first-timers' faces is priceless. -

I wish. It's just the basic coaster stats, like the fact that it is termed a gigacoaster and that loose articles are not permitted on this ride. -
I copied and pasted this from my FunTimes email newsletter: How cool is that?
