  1. Go for it!! Good place to work-like anything else, show up when you're supposed to, do what you're told, and you'll be fine.
  2. I see it, but can't hear it since I am temporarily at my old place making another run...I am not going to miss these noisy (insert favorite profanity here) neighbors.
  3. I've been to scandia in ontario-that coaster packs a punch!! WE had a blast. Nice little parks open year round. Right by Ontario Mills mall-they have a bmx track/skate park in that mall as well
  4. Don't worry. This is a second job for me, not a big deal. If rehired, will be my third straight year-I am not looking for promotions or that kind of thing, this is going to my get out of debt fund.
  5. Terrible. I went last year and in 2006. The first year was good, but last year I noticed the nasty water and let it go. It wasn't as enjoyable, and it was elbow to elbow people. I left after an hour. Not the same as winterfest, and the paddle boats are a bad idea with the temps around here in the winter. They should stay a summer park in my opinion.
  6. Go for it. I know they get fully staffed in the beginning, but generally a month into it, they lose employees for one reason or another and then they need help again. I know its late in the season, but staffing Haunt is a big problem as well. I am applying as we speak.
  7. windshawne....I'm in
  8. will do by this weekend..personally, I hope to see some stray deer running around
  9. I'm still on the fence..hopefully I can go, although I will be moving that weekend or the one before...still in the air. Hope to know more by next weekend.
  10. I'm cold now-heat is on 75 and several blankets....I usually don't ride anything after september...I freeze during haunt these days.
  11. Boggles the mind, doesn't it? It's more the sunshine I crave.
  12. Warm weather. I hate winter anymore. Longer days and just the atmosphere of the park.
  13. I'll take the 40's tonight....although high 70's would be better
  14. Not me...even if I had that type of cash, I wouldn't spend that type of money for property on a fault line....
  15. It has to be part of a business revenue stream. They want you to buy their food and drink. It is the same if you go to a sporting event, see a movie and even Riverfest. People have ask why KI charges so much for parking and they voice it should be cheaper or even free. It is the same with the price of food. People will spend several hours at the event and will need something to drink and eat. The way to reduce the price of Coke in the vending machines is to not buy it. But if people continue to buy it, the price will not come down. Coke might have a say in the minium price their product can be set at. I know when I worked at a market research firm, Coke and the rest of the softdrink companies set their price that the retail stores sold it at. The whole thing is a bad idea. I load up before coming to the park, and if need be, eat when I leave. I will not pay $3.50 for a Coke, that is plain theft of the public. The food quality is crap as well. The first time I tried to ride Firehawk it was hot, no wind, line up to the lockers, and then they had employees coming up to the line trying to sell 3 dollar waters and such. Besides having to use the bathroom, I left the line cause I thought that was just plain poor taste. Wasn't that the type of scenario that caused the riot at the last Woodstock??
  16. Will be interesting to see what sales are like next season. My fun trips are going to be very limited next season compared to years past...there are more cost effective forms of entertainment and I plan to try new things next year.
  17. I have never understood the no food policy-really!! What harm does it do? I am more concerned with the potential knives and guns and what not-who cares about food!!
  18. I was about to say I have no such button-this thing is really messy, and unless I can fix it in the next day or so, reload!!! Plus, I will stay away from google, cause that is what started this mess. On another note, before I reloaded, I could not access internet from my friends insight connection, and now I can. Go figure.....
  19. I dont know about anyone else here, but I am having a problem with the forum unrelated to speed. I changed some privacy settings on facebook, and did some internet searches on what has stayed on the internet since then. Now on all the forums, I can only see the first and last entry. The rest are individual links at the bottom of the page. I have cleared the cache numerous times, performed a disk cleanup with the browser closed, and everything I can think of and it remains. I hate to reload this thing-again-but I am starting to think that may be the only solution. Ijust did that 2-3 weeks ago. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how changing a web pages settings can screw up everything else-I have not changed the compys settings.
  20. It happens now, but a few years ago it didn't. Some natives I associate with have received remains for spiritual reburial. On another note, I was thrilled that a developer in alaska halted their construction for an eagles' nest. The project has been abandoned until the eagle decides whether that lot is its permanent home or not
  21. Exactly. We all know Indian burial grounds tend to be ignored anyway.
  22. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. When we return to our jobs at the park this spring, I guarantee prices will be hovering around $4 again. I still don't understand how this can be so volatile-they're just screwing with us. At least this summer I wont have as far to drive
  23. Mine is here and there. I am having some slowing on this site as well as facebook, but there is a known problem on facebook. Two weeks ago, I reloaded this laptop cause I got something really nasty on here and it wouldn't do anything. I also run spybot and I have mcafee on here as well. Depending on where I am I am either on insight or clearwire. I lost my thunderbolt pics
