Well, my feeling on that and dead awakening are known, and for a different forum. I saw one of the club blood girls going to work on the colder night, and the jeers and whispering she endured on the way to the employee entrance angered me...and some of the whispering and laughing came from a group of volunteers.

**** happens-some people are jerks and alcohol makes it worse. I can tell you the story of an approximately 12 year old kid standing up on KCKC and urinating from the top of the lift hill-true story!!
-
The designated area rule did leave when Cedar Fair purchased the park, and ryan you are right about the alcohol in lines. Unfortunately, this is a reflection of society now. I think there should be a dress code-the way some of these kids dress, or lack of is a problem. Don't let that prevent you from coming to the park-it is a work in progress. I was gone for 20 years from the park when I moved out of state and a lot of things changed-I think it's going in the right direction, but it will take time to undo some of the bad policies that were in place for years. I have seen some improvement from last year myself.

Sugar doesn't belong in pizza, period. I'm going to be sacriligous (sp) here, but I don't care for Larosas. Sorry!!

I will not be one of them..... The Beast will always be first and last for me as long it (and /or I) are both still around. Doesn't matter what they do, Beast will always be it for me. I predict not even being able to get on Diamondback til say maybe August if I have a day off during the week. -

wow-sorry I'm a little upset over that..I have a lot of good memories from that building -
I hold the top bars on son-that way to brace myelf for that one-doesn't help, it still beats me up-I am through with son. On the other hand, I don't hang on at Beast at all-that one loosens my back. Vortex the handles on the restraints-same issue with head banging. Racers-depends how rough that day. This year, hands up as well. In my younger days before seat belts and head rests, I never held on-was the only way to go.

I am going today as well. One last ride on beast....

You should have seen the snake over at coney maul the first haunt weekend!! Personally, I am upset with the trees being destroyed, but I understand things must change. I just hope they are replaced elsewhere in the park.
-
I agree wholeheartedly. The spitting thing is one of my biggest peeves-I don't understand that one at all. A dress code is long overdue-especially those droopy pants-I am so sick of seeing exposed butts I can't stand it. Even if it's underwear, it still should not be allowed.
-
Must be cause you're so tall..me being a short **** I fit very well in those restraints. Now Vortex on the other hand.....I usually get beat up on both sides of my head and rarely ride it anymore.

I kinda thought so. I remember the pass I bought in '85 was sold for a whopping 30 bucks, and we thought that was high. But after about 3-4 visits, no big deal. We used to go through that side entrance and hit the demon first. Wow!! Now I'm getting all nostalgic and stuff

I didn't know what a season pass was until I was 19 and able to pay for one myself. No frills that I remember, just a way to get in free for the year. Did the park always have them, or did it go a few years in the beginning? Oh boy, memory lane..season pass holders back in 1985 entered through the gates to the left. I remember the last time I went as a season pass holder, we went through there and went right in, while everyone else waited to go through the main gates. I guess that was our "perk"? I had a pass a couple years ago as a gift, and haven't had one since.

Good to see you too Karen. It was awesome!! Would have stayed longer, but I had a long day and was just too tired.
-
My night was over after that, but not because of the mist itself-although I do think it was a poor idea for this time of year. Other than that, it was great-I really like medical horror. The Stand is one of my favourite stories.
-
I enjoyed urgent scare more than I thought I would. The only part I didn't like was the mist area at the exit. Too cold for something like that, but that's my thought.

I totally agree. Personally, I think the fog at the park is much thicker this year than in years past. If it were me, there would be security everywhere you look after dark. I am glad they left the lights in front of the gate alone this year-it's a nice effect to put the red bulbs in, but any dimming creates a safety issue especially with all the trees.

PKI Memories - trips from late 80s to now!

How beautiful-you made me cry!!!! Much of what you wrote I can relate to...riding beast with dad and The Racers as well. Whenever I step foot on beast I have the same thoughts that run through my head and every time I wish he was able to ride with me. I recall climbing the long stairway up to demon-my first looping coaster-looking off to the left once boarded and seeing wild country safari. And the one summer when I got off the dutch shoe ride (sorry can't remember the name of it) and dad giving me a sip of his beer....Thank you!! -
I've done it. I have a month of sick time built up due to years of great attendance, and considering the layoff coming up, I don't feel bad about it. The few times I have called off, I get called at home for questions-and this isn't the first job that has happened. Sometimes you just need a mental health day.
-
Right now it is too cold for me, but this area is more bone chilling cold than alaska was. Can't explain it. I can walk around and such, but riding a coaster is out of the question. I think they are rough when its cold anyway and to me its not worth the achiness later.

I'd like to see a Friday's maybe at the park-some kind of nice sit down restaurant where you didn't have to leave to get good food. When I returned from california, I was really upset to see the cars gone as well. What were they thinking???? I was thinking about this and I was gone from the park a total of 20 years-1985 to my return in 2005. Came home to a totally different park. I am still disoriented.

Nope-would have had the tar knocked out of me-there is also a shame factor thrown in.
