  1. My attendance is in the air at this moment-I am working part of the day, and it just depends how I feel afterward. I am going to try to hit everything, but wait and see.
  2. Which makes sob a mediocre coaster in my opinion. After the first drop, I have no use for the rest of it-to the point I am never getting on it again.
  3. Ive been ready for this for months. My sister is coming down from Alaska, and I am really hoping we will have time to hit the park and ride Beast. We have not been on it together since, well, I dont remember-been years!
  4. Are you s******* me? Unbelievable
  5. I have to agree on that one-and this past year was way too thick. I am asthmatic and some nights I was up all night trying to recover.
  6. I'm 43. The past month or so I feel younger than I did when I was in my 20's. Yes-I want to be riding these things in my 70's as well-time will tell.
  7. I was in Wasilla during July as well, and fished on Kenai too. Beautiful up there. Yeah, those bears mean business. Whenever we "walked in the woods" the guide told us to make sure we sang to keep them away. Little brown jug was my favorite
  8. It needs to be painted. Letting it go cosmetically makes it seem that its days are numbered-I hope not. Only beef I have with it is its too short....
  9. I dont remember the first ride...my memories are spotty, but enchanted voyage was a favorite. I rode that clear up until I graduated. Bavarian beetle, rotor and tumble bug as well. The first big ride was probably racer...been hooked ever since. I never got to ride skylab, or phantom theatre-they were installed and gone before I returned from the west coast.
  10. Heh heh 40-56. Old fart.....but don't feel it!!
  11. OH, I hate that elephant! That is the single thing that ruined it for me. If I want to get drenched, I'll go to the Bay, otherwise I would rather it be more natural like the old days
  12. I'm not a ride op-never have been, and really don't want to be. I think its a helluva responsibility. Thing is, if a group of people are yelling, that would get my attention. One thing I have been told in training is a theme park blows all the usual normal situations-screams and such. Pay attention to your smells and the atmosphere. I would like to hope I can tell the difference between a happy scream, and one of fear. I can't say I would do the right thing in an emergency-no one can until they are in that position. All you can do is be on your toes, especially when the heat starts and its really difficult to be as sharp as the beginning of the shift. We know Ms. Lassiter's life is forever altered-I'm sure those ride ops who were there that day have had their lives permanently changed as well.
  13. Which brings up the other argument about putting a young person in a position they are not ready for. Did I read it right-the ride op walked away after the incident? Now I'm sure part of that was shock-I know I would not want to have to live with the knowledge my inaction caused someone to be maimed.
  14. Yeah...I always go to that last car. My problem is being such a shorty. CP's version of Vortex fits me better for some reason, but I dont feel it is as enjoyable. I'll give Vortex one more shot.
  15. As much as I hate them, the extra assurance of the seat belts help. Very unlikely both would fail. I worry more about the train becoming stuck upside down and as mentioned before, blood rushing to your head. As much as I like Vortex, I can no longer ride it-same goes with son.
  16. I have always wanted to see how KI was constructed-great job!!! I enjoyed the trip down memory lane to that time period.
  17. I got up this morning and noticed posts are a day old.....there is a nasty problem going around. I have been hacked twice in the last month by email and my bank. Everyone watch yourselves.
  18. I dont know what all this means, but I can say with confidence the hurt is not over yet. I am the only one in my circle who is still employed. My daughters roommate lost both her jobs last week, another friend of hers lost her job yesterday-theres 3 people who are unemployed in the last two weeks alone. Stock price means nothing if you're loaded with debt-and times being what they are, you gotta do what you have to do to survive. Citibank announcing profits yesterday caused this temporary rally. They made a profit by increasing interest rates and fees on their cardholders, even for good paying customers like me. An hour on the phone with India stopped that little scheme. Today I am pulling an 11 hour day because the workload is so heavy, yet there is no hiring going on right now. My friends in dayton are still waiting for the cuts I suspect will start on friday.
  19. Well said. When I served on jury in California I saw people who evaded it just because they were too lazy and didn't want to serve. I enjoyed my time on it, even though I took a large financial hit to do it. And to this day, I am still confident I did the right things and made the right decisions that day. I would gladly do it again.
  20. Yes, the Eiffel Tower in Paris is old, but it's not just old. And the kids here think the one in Mason is old, too! Terpy, old enough to remember huge floppies, and formatting same (three sizes of floppies, as a matter of fact...and I have some of the small, hard plastic ones on my desk right now....) I remember having to be so careful handling them...what a pain it was.
  21. That guy is annoying.....I couldnt get past it
  22. I really wanted to do that. Why did it get stopped anyway, liability?
  23. I needed that today
  24. Very nice after event!! I have walked through Krazy City, but didn't stop and play. Might have to give that a shot.
  25. Here are a few......Let's see if this works http://s676.photobucket.com/albums/vv124/windshawne1/ And this marks my first success of posting pics to this site
