  1. Now that you've pointed that out ... that is pretty weird. Though, we could all just be making a lot of something out of a lot of nothing.
  2. The copy and paste version requires the use of a site such as Photobucket. Simply upload your image to Photobucket (which is free if you don't have an account there yet). Once you have uploaded the image, you will see several versions of the URL, such as "IM & Email" "HTML" and "IMG Code." Click on the one listed as IMG code. Some browsers auto-copy it, but I always copy it again just in case. Then click to where you'd like to post it and paste! It automatically adds the correct BB tags and the correctly linked URL.
  3. But hey, look on the bright side. You've got a built in prop for Urgent Scare! It was great hanging out with you on Sunday, even with the butt plant. Hope you heal up well and quickly! Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  4. I don't have a passport, so I wasn't able to add Canada's Wonderland this year. Planning on getting my passport by next summer. I'll be visiting England within the next 5 years and fully intend to make sure I get Alton, Blackpool and Thorpe while I'm there.
  5. 108. Which I believe is rather impressive considering I went into the season with 47. 12 new parks later, I've more than doubled it. And that's even with missing half the credits at 2 of the parks! Hoping to pick up about 5 more credits by the end of the season. Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  6. ^ Afraid of splatting. lol. I'd love to do that. I'm terrified of heights, but if I was well-secured I think I'd be able to do it. After awhile I'd get used to it and be ok.
  7. ^ It definitely stings. Especially when it's a muffle head. Those suckers are big! I've only ridden front row of TTD at night once and decided once was more than enough. I'm glad that they are taking things more serious. Sadly, I've seen employees watch people spit and do nothing about it. I pointed out someone that had spit off the tower at Kings Dominion and the employee said "sorry, I didn't see it, I can't do anything about it." I try not to walk under the Eiffel Tower.
  8. Considering there's nothing on that page, I wouldn't be surprised if they registered it just to keep people guessing, as White Lightning is the current front-runner in the rumor mill for the name. There's probably other ridename.carowinds.com pages that haven't been discovered yet, and the real one will be revealed in all it's glory when the ride is announced.
  9. I was looking for shirts to buy. So was most of our group. The only answer we got was "we don't have any." BTW, I saw you several times and didn't realize that was you! I was in the big group of crazies and had on a KI shirt that said "I'd rather ride a woodie" on the back.
  10. As long as there is no lightning within a certain radius, all the coasters will operate no matter how hard the rain is. Each coaster has it's own "rain mode" which usually means fewer trains. The wood coasters will only run 1 train, Diamondback will run 2. I have ridden Diamondback and Beast in ridiculously hard rain and gotten soaked worse than a water ride. The best part about hard rain is there are no lines! 16 times on Diamondback in 2 hours! Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  11. Isn't togo out of business? That would make me believe that they are just responding to rumors or ruling things out. Still crossing my fingers for a GCI. Or even better, something from Gravity Group! Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  12. It goes immediately from the cobra roll (first element of the ride after the launch) into a sidewinder inversion. Then the corkscrew at the end is #4. I have the entire layout of that ride memorized.
  13. ^ that's why Jackson is allowed to go to KI with me. Now an overnight or long distance trip is probably still out, but his parents have met me and I've proved that I'm responsible and get him home when they ask me to. So they're ok with me picking him up and taking him to the park with me. Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  14. Wait, wasn't it you that wasn't allowed to to CoasterMania? Now I understand why.
  15. Steel: Flight of Fear (74') It's my number 3 steel coaster (after Diamondback and Millennium Force). Wood: Legend if you count it. 99' lift hill but the drop is 113'. After Legend, Grizzly at Kings Dominion (87'). All my top 5 wood are over 100' tall (Voyage, Prowler, El Toro, Legend, Beast), and Grizzly is my number 6.
  16. GCI!!!!!!! I'm really hoping this isn't another tweet (and Facebook post) to throw us off. I've been hoping for a GCI all along.
  17. I'm going on August 26th! But I'll be spending most of the day on Gemini.
  18. I recommend the Super 8 that's across the street from the Microtel. It's right next to the highway and if you get a room facing that way you can see the park from it. However, it sits so high up on the hill that you don't hear the highway noise. Gigacoaster2k and myself stayed there the night before opening day and I was very impressed with it. The room was spacious and clean, the property was in very good condition, the staff was friendly and the rate was very reasonable. At the time it was actually the cheapest rate in the area so I was even more surprised by how nice the property was.
  19. Wow. I'm really surprised that ID has so much down time. It broke while I was there a week ago and it was down for the rest of the day. Maybe something major broke and it's still down?
  20. We were VERY lucky. I'm betting they were running the standard morning tests at 4 or 5 a.m. Or maybe they didn't let it cool down the night before. I don't think they could pull off such a feat on a daily basis. When I was there last week it opened an hour late because one of the brake fins in the launch area wasn't coming up.
  21. I'm going to go with The Beast. It's the park's claim to fame. It's still the longest wooden coaster in the world. And it's still a pretty mean ride! Though Son of Beast is definitely mean, people outside of this area or the enthusiast community really hadn't heard of it. I actually had an argument with someone at SFKK that there was a wooden coaster that had a loop.
  22. To each their own, but for me I say Skyflyer. I didn't find Slingshot to be that exciting. Plus you're strapped in more hardcore than any coaster I've ever ridden. Skyflyer you're basically laying in a big fabric sling and held by a couple carabiners to a wire! Plus there's the whole pulling your own ripcord versus them doing it. But, I'd say try to do both. Buy your tickets early when they're $5. The ticket is good all day, so you can use it at any point throughout the day. Usually as the price goes up, the lines get shorter, so if the line is really long (though it usually isn't) in the morning, you can come back to it.
  23. Most of the coasters have a seat belt that either goes around you or attaches to the restraint. FOF, Vortex, Flight Deck, Invertigo and Drop Tower attach to the restraint. Beast, Racer, Son of Beast (when running) and Adventure Express have a belt that goes around you. Backlot and Diamondback do not have seat belts, instead they use other methods as their secondary restraint system. Flight of Fear I've noticed is a little tighter with the seat belt than it used to be without. You have to get it down to a certain click to get it to buckle on to the restraint. Joker's Jinx's belts are a smidge longer as I was not as crammed in trying to get it to buckle. FOF is also not as fun with the complete stop on the MCBR that the train used to blow right through, but that's not an argument for this thread.
  24. I'm not real sure why you're so anti seat-assigning. I've never had a problem with it and have only twice out of my 100 rides been turned down for a requested seat. Both times during "power hour" when they were trying to make capacity.
