  1. Jackson, you're famous in Dayton too!! They just mentioned you on WHIO-TV news!
  2. I lived in Tennessee for three years. If I took it personally, I'd have had a real problem!! And those nickels add up, now don't they?
  3. If someone's making money off these, I want in on it!
  4. Those are awesome, unrealsk8r!! I'm glad the design came out. I have mine and Angie's shirts in the dryer. As soon as they're dry I'll be putting the designs on.
  5. Waaaaait a minute. You mean they're having a bring a friend day the same day as RWW?!?!! Maybe I'll just come for the morning festivities and leave, to return for the nighttime festivities that day.
  6. Whoa those are cool! The Son of Beast construction pics made me sad and make me miss the loop even more.
  7. This is one of those questions that it's best to call the park and ask. 1-800-288-0808
  8. Contrary to popular belief, Flight of Fear DOES have a place to store loose articles. You must hand it to the ride op as they come to check your lapbar and they place it in a cubbyhole shelving unit (similar to the ones on Beast, but without a sliding cover) at the exit. They will not take purses or fanny packs due to liability (in case it has money), so I'm not sure they'd take a camera bag. You could go through the exit and place it there yourself but there is no employee watching it so I don't know that I'd trust it. Crypt has lockers out front and zipper pockets on the back of the seat in front of you that will hold things like flip flops or sandals (it held my Crocs, even) so it might be able to handle your camera. Firehawk has no place to store things and the ride ops can only hold prescription eyeglasses, but they will hold those for you (I've done this the one time I wore my glasses instead of contacts to the park). There are lockers near the entrance. I think all the lockers in the main park are pay-per-use. The ones at the front gate might be daily rental now, but I don't remember for certain. You can call the park about that. The lockers in the water park are all-day rentals. You may consider buying a smaller camera. You can get a pocket-sized digital camera for under $100 now a days (less if you can find a used one on Craigslist). I carry a Kodak Easyshare that fits very easily in a cargo pocket, and even a normal pocket. I have never had to leave it at a station, just secure it in my buttoned cargo pocket before climbing in the train.
  9. You might be a KI addict if you husband surprises you with a special shirt for opening day and many other trips to KI and the thoughtfulness of the gift brings tears to your eyes. I'll post pictures and explain all about it when I have the shirt either today or tomorrow.
  10. My husband told me last night that he was planning to surprise me with a special shirt for opening day (and many other days). I'm going today to check it out and am going to talk to the printing company about doing a professional quality transfer for a hoodie with this design on it. I'll let you guys know if they can do them in time and how much it would cost, for those who haven't done their shirts yet.

  12. They had to take a new pic for mine and gigacoaster's because when they scanned in the old card it removed the free parking for some reason. So they played it safe and gave us new cards with new pictures and said to hold on to the receipt just in case.
  13. Can you PM me your email address? Also to anyone else who is interested in printing these, the picture I posted originally will only print out at about 4 inches by 2 inches. I have the full size (8 x 11) image but photobucket shrinks it if I post it there, so PM me with your email address for the full high-res version. I can also put your username on it in a matching font if you'd like, as I've already done for 3 members so far. I'm going to head out of here after I finish breakfast to track down a hoodie and will post pictures of the completed work of art!
  14. Michael's only had short sleeve t-shirts and Wal-Mart had cheap hoodies but they only had dark grey and dark green left. I'm going to try the Huber Heights Super Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby tomorrow.
  15. You get to figure out a way to get them from me. Fairborn's on the northeast side of Dayton.
  16. I bought some iron on transfer sheets today. $10 for 10 sheets. I won't need that many so if anyone in the Dayton area wants to buy some sheets off me and save a couple bucks let me know. $1 a page, same as I paid for them. I'm thinking of putting mine on a hoodie if I can find a cheap one. I'm at Sam's right now looking for one in fact! For those that PMed me about the design, I'll email it to you as soon as I get home from my errands. I'll also post pictures of my completed project as soon as I finish! Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
  17. Why? Go toward Delirium and double back toward International Street on the pathway past the Festhaus. You'll come out in the middle of International Street and be able to walk up toward the Eiffel Tower and go toward Diamondback with very little time spent going out of the way. Flyer, who made several trips around through Coney Mall on a Beast walkback last year. It depends on how much of International Street they have open. I haven't been there at park opening since when I worked there, so when I think of where they have the ropes, I remember them having them back behind the Eiffel Tower, so if they start doing it that way and opening shops such as the Emporium, then you'd end up back in the crowd if you go through Oktoberfest. But I haven't been there at park open since 2003, so I honestly have no idea where they block it off now.
  18. The only problem I see with using the old season pass entrance is doesn't it let you in over by the Kings Island Theater? If so, you'd have to either mix back in with the non-passholders on International Street, or walk all the way around through Coney Mall to get to the ERT area.
  19. Okay, I got over my bout of laziness and actually accomplished something today! I've been planning on designing something for T-shirts for opening day. I've got it designed so that you can do the full design on the front, or the full design on the back with a small design on the front. I will probably do mine with the large design on the back and the small design with my username on the front. If anyone wants me to do their username in a matching font, let me know and I'll e-mail you the personalized graphic. I think photobucket edited down the size of the image. If you want the high-res, original format version, PM me with your email address. You can buy iron-on transfer paper at most fabric stores and some Super Wal-Marts. Michael's sells plain t-shirts and sweatshirts for fairly cheap. Large design: Small design (for front, if wanted): I've got another design that I wasn't sure would come out well on transfer paper that I'm going to submit to the mods if they want to sell it as an additional option through the KIC cafepress store.
  20. I'm hoping they do something smart like Cedar Point did. Rather than having to push and shove your way through the people waiting for the rope drop, you go in over at the side by Demon Drop. There's never anyone there, so you don't have to push and shove. Then you walk around the sides of the buildings along the midway and right past non-passholders waiting for the rope drop without having to shove through them to get there. It was a very smart layout and led to zero frustration. I'm really hoping they do something like this at KI, like maybe over by Nick U where not as many people will be trying to get through.

  22. You can call the park for official details, but here's my guess on how it will work. Auction rides will probably start either shortly before 9 or at 9. This has not been announced yet. The queue will be opened at 9 a.m. for all Gold & Platinum passholders. At 10 a.m it will open to everyone else, who will get in line behind those who got in during the ERT. So the line will probably be an hour or two at that point, and then add on whoever jumps in immediately. 10-10:30 will probably be when the line is the longest during the day, because it will already be a full queue from the ERT and then everyone else will add in to it. I am highly doubting the line will ever go beyond 3 hours, but it might get that high right after the ERT. If it's too long, go ride something else and come back in a few hours, it may go down. If you've already got 3 trips to KI planned according to your signature, it makes sense to just buy a gold pass and then you can get in during the ERT as well.
  23. A lot of time and patience, some mechanical know how, and multiple trips to the craft store.
