  1. Park's phone number is 513-754-5700.
  2. It's convenient to be able to blame every issue at Disney on MyMagic+, though.
  3. TripAdvisor® reviews are absolutely comical. "They wouldn't let me ride because the restraint would not close and it was unsafe for me to ride. 1 star!!!"
  4. True... "People can buy Pepsi-Cola®, but they can't pee in the street." -Walt Disney "If we can dream it, we can do it." -NOT Walt Disney, actually (source)
  5. I bet they could power The Walt Disney World® Resort with the power generated by Walt spinning in his grave over MyMagic+™.
  6. Fun fact: Part of the reason that the parks suddenly seemed to be so crowded is that Imagineers accounted for a percentage of guests being in lines at any given time. Once Fastpass meant that people spent time they'd usually be in line hanging out waiting for their time to come up rather than shopping or riding something else, that percentage was thrown off.
  7. I believe that this was leaked at some point as the reason for FP+. They wanted to avoid having to install new attractions by "encouraging" people to ride unpopular or high capacity ones (i.e. Journey Into Imagination or Ellen's Energy Adventure) and lock them into their plans sooner. Personally, I'm more bothered that the new official map for Epcot is upside down for some reason. I actually don't hate FP+ all that much, it seems more convenient, but it doesn't seem well thought out, especially on the IT side of things. I really like the idea of the MagicBands, though. A combo admission ticket/payment system/FP system in one band seems like a good idea. Gotta love the people making tin foil shields for their MBs. (and, yes, I've heard of people doing this)
  8. Hey, you still get to hear Kokomo on the train!
  9. 1996 is when World of Motion closed and Horizons reopened for the last time. Ironic side note: On the ceremonial last ride on World of Motion, the ride broke down and the GM executives had to be walked off. Foreshadowing, indeed.
  10. I heard that happened multiple times that weekend. Duh...
  11. I once saw a couple in Epcot with an outdated copy of that guide desperately looking for World of Motion.
  12. No, it was WindSeeker/Vortex.
  13. Please, no.
  14. Avatarland might be nice on its own, but it, along with the appalling Dinorama area (NOT Dinoland USA, which is actually fairly well themed), really doesn't belong in Animal Kingdom. I still don't understand the creative decisions that led to carnival rides being put in a fake parking lot in a Disney theme park. Anyway, I have no doubt that Avatarland will be nice, it's just unfortunate that it's being put where it is (along with Monsters Inc in Tomorrowland, Flying Carpets in Adventureland, Soarin in The Land placed so it soars up behind Canada, Swan and Dolphin towering over France, etc... poor placement actually seems to be a fairly common problem at WDW, doesn't it?). (and, yes, I understand that it's in AK because of the environmental theme or something... but it seems like a stretch to me)
  15. There seems to have been a rather cool reception to this news so far...
  16. Descriptions for some of the park services (i.e., lots of guests think "baby care center" means babysitting). Markings for places that have gold pass perks. Markings for Fast Lane rides (the Fast Lane people end up having to mark maps with a pen because they're not listed on the map).
  17. That's what that weird light and camera thing at the bottom of the checkout lanes at Kroger is for... oh, technology!
  18. Also, one would hope that common sense would take precedence over what a piece of third-party software says... ...one would hope.
  19. Not everything at WDW is original music by Disney- even Wonders of Life and the pre-1994 Tomorrowland used music by others. 1994 Tomorrowland used Raymond Scott music. Innoventions Plaza uses some David Arkenstone music ( might sound familiar...). Unfortunately, the days of 100% original scores in the parks seem to be over. Obviously not the same as playing Lady Gaga in line for Spaceship Earth, but it's still not New Horizons and Fun to Be Free.
  20. There's nothing quite as bad as the Zamperla flyers... I've had the misfortune of riding the one at Elitch Gardens (very creatively named "The Flying Coaster") and the one at Canada's Wonderland... both were absolutely awful.
  21. I wouldn't mind seeing Chick-Fil-A or Subway leave, but I don't see a huge issue with everything else, especially LaRosa's and Skyline. Speaking of chicken restaurants, how come the other parks don't have Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner restaurants? Seems like it'd be unique and cool...
  22. I'd settle for different colors. Red brick in Coney, stamped concrete that looks like planks of wood in Rivertown (I think they used this at Knott's in their old west area?), etc. Look at how Animal Kingdom uses the pavement to reinforce the theme.
  23. Now that the Starlight Spectacular is no more, I'm hoping that the whole thing will be planted this year instead of just a few sections of it (the other sections had lights in them). I'd be thrilled if it and the floral calendar were upgraded to have the park logo in them like they used to, but we can't get everything we want, I suppose.
  24. Anyone else remember when concrete was poured in the WindSeeker/Vortex area in 2011 then immediately ripped up and replaced with pavers? I don't really like how Planet Snoopy, Coney, and Rivertown all have the same pavers. It would have been a nice touch if each area used thematically appropriate ones.
