That Flight Deck hat was not on there when I was on there at 3:40...(I only saw the other four)

But it is in Planet Snoopy, not Rivertown . But yes, I think it looks very good with those colors and it'd be cool for it to kinda go along with the Rivertown theme.

Theme Park Attendance
Diamondback FOF replied to Diamondback FOF's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Oh. I hadn't remembered seeing that thread before. How would estimates like that even be made? I wouldn't know where to begin on guessing attendance. -
Same price as Monday. I thought maybe after the short jump it would continue to rise slowly.

Earlier today, I came across this document, which lists theme park attendances for 2008. The attendances are categorized by: Worldwide figures, with: -Top 25 Amusement/Theme Parks -Top 10 Theme Park Chains -Top 20 Waterparks -Worldwide Theme Park Attendance Trends Region figures, with: -North America: Top 20 Amusement/Theme Parks -Europe: Top 20 Amusement/Theme Parks -Asia/Pacific Rim: Top 10 Amusement/Theme Parks -Mexico/Latin America: Top 10 Amusement/Theme Parks -U.S. Top 15 Waterparks On page 6 of the document (page 7 in the pdf file), it lists North America's top 20 Amusement/Theme Parks. It shouldn't be a surprise that Disney and Universal parks hold the top ten spots, minus Sea World Orlando, which comes in at 7th. The report also includes Cedar Fair parks, but I thought I had read Cedar Fair has consistenly not released attendance numbers for their parks? But, Knott's Berry Farm (13th in North America; 25th most attended in the world), Canada's Wonderland (14th), and Cedar Point (15th) are the top four CF parks, with Kings Island (16th overall in North America) being the fourth most attended CF park. Is Canada's Wonderland the only major park in the region, because it just doesn't hit me as being more popular than CP, Knott's, or KI? Also, no other Cedar Fair parks are in the top 20. Anyways, I thought I would just share this in case anyone was interested. *I cannot guarentee the accuracy of the attendence figures listed. Also, I couldn't find one for 2009, I guess because that year has just ended.

I checked KI Marketplace to see if anything new had been added or changed, and Peanuts items have been added. Also, it appears a 'larger' (I use that term loosely) variety of items have been added for certain categories.

I am going to try to once again begin my season with a ride (or two) on Diamondback (unless I decide to get a job there).

http://www.intimidator.carowinds.com/public/auction/ That is the link to the page if you would like to place a bid. Remember, each winning bid includes two admission tickets, so if you plan on going opening day with someone else, you might consider making a bid. Minimum bids are only $50, which is (I would think) be less than the price of two admissions. You could probably raise that bid a little (maybe to $80) and still only be paying admission price.

http://www.planetsnoopy.com/ That page allows you to choose the park you want, but it doesn't include Canada's Wonderland, but you can type in: http://www.planetsnoopy.com/canadaswonderland/ and it works. I wonder why? Maybe because it isn't complete I guess because it says "Content Here" in the middle where the other sites give info.

Dale Earnhardt has been announced as one of the five inductees into the Nascar Hall of Fame in 2010! http://www.daleearnhardthalloffame.com/ Also, I had somehow gotten to the first ride auction (I thought through Intimidator's website), but now I can't find it, and a few bids that had been placed have since been removed. I wonder if the link to the first rider auction was released early and wasn't quite ready?

The only thing I can really say is: -Stay on property if it isn't too much more than staying at a place off property. You will save time (both by driving time and getting in early), and you can get in early and/or stay late, depending on the park and day. Also, you will save parking money. -Use fastpasses. They will save you waiting time, so... -Buy souvenirs (sp?) It is always nice to bring some stuff home -Ride some bigger rides, not just kids' rides (I know that is important, but there are some really good larger family rides that must be ridden -Get a picture card thing (if the park photographers take your picture, they just scan your card and then you can look at your photos online when you get home) -Don't worry about getting to the parks at opening nd staying the entire day until close. The kids will probably start falling asleep if you get a puch cart thing (maybe for the younger child?). Also, you and your wife will get tired if you try to do three parks all day for three days straight. It is a lot of walking and more tiring than just a normal day or park -Maybe take a day to drive to the beach while you're down there. It would be a relaxing time, and a decent beach that isn't crowded, Cocoa Beach. When we went, it wasn't even a couple hours from Disney (maybe an hour or hour and a half, I think) and, like I said, it was family friendly and not crowded, but a place to park was a pain to find. But, the edge of the ocean had tons of little shells, so be careful walking (it might have just been because of a storm stirring stuff up or because of the tide). But, if the children want to collect shells, there weren't many goood shells to collect. Daytona Beach was a good place for shells. Also, depending on the day, a space shuttle may be landing or taking off, so you could watch that, whcih would be a neat experience (a shuttle was landing right after I left the beach, but was even closer to Cape Canveral, but it was way too cloudy to see it ) -Finally, enjoy yourself! Disney was one of the BEST weeks of my life (minus the long drive) and I wish I could experience it again.

Two people in my Health class insisted they had heard on the news a couple days before they told me this that Vortex was being removed this winter because it is sinking. I tried to tell them it has been a rumor for years, but alas, it was to no avail.

Now, on school computers, the small (pre-opened) fast reply box covers part of the bottom of the screen, above where it should be (starts right below the last post and covers part of the page selectors, etc.). They run XP with IE, which is what I have at home, but I have it doesn't happen at home. When I click in the fast reply box, it opens how it should. It's kinda weird.

Those photos bring back glorious memories of when Diamondback was just a baby. I like that red color, too.

Themeparks on google maps

I personally think we should try to convince KI to request this to be done there. I mean, it is free after all, so what could it hurt?
